Shia felt a little bad that the others couldn't come, but the lady looking at her like that made her put up her guard. She met her disdainful gaze for a few seconds, but looked away. She thinks my blood's dirty. I guess it is... She didn't like the idea. No! It's not that bad. My blood's perfectly fine. I mean, half of it's good... I think. Even knowing this, it was hard to look at the one with high blood. "Yes, I am." What if she's right? I'd like to be Ferondir's apprentice, but what if I'm not worthy? She tried to push the thought away, but it still bothered her.

Jakub smiled back at Guzore.

Right then lets get going, I am sure the arena is going to have some form of concession stand, so finding food should be a breeze.

Jakub started walking, but then spoke over his shoulder.

Gee I hope everything works out for Ferondir, I remember how stressful this time can be, from both sides, that of the student and that of the mentor, this day has never been pleasant.Then again this will be my first time as a everyday visitor so this should be... interesting

Jakub continued along the path towards the stands,

Hey Guzore can i ask you something somewhat personal, since i believe you are the closest thing to me in age... do you ever feel like a relic the the changing world that just doesn't belong?

Apprentice Ferondir of Mira ~ Guild Arena ~ Day 7, Late Morning

Ferondir nodded. It seemed the Mistress Dwynwen's words made Shia feel inferior. Ferondir wanted to give the woman a good kick, but he was just an apprentice. "Please Mistress, don't insult me. Would I choose someone inadequate? You know how serious I am about this."
Mistress Dwynwen attempted to appear shocked. "I never said any such thing!"
Ferondir looked less then convinced. "My mistake." He clearly didn't mean it.
The Mistress didn't respond, but looked down at her register and ticked something off. "And what is her name?"
"Shialia..." Ferondir began. How could he have forgotten to ask Shia's surname before now. He hoped she understood.

Ravoo turned to Zeph. "What do now?" he asked.

Shia looked at the ground, arms crossed. "Just Shiallia." Someone might recognize my family's name... I haven't used it for years, anyway. Maybe I should just get rid of it. She shifted uncomfortably. They won't like that. Should I lie? She glanced up nervously. No, not to Ferondir. She decided to stick with what she'd already said, worried that anything else would make it worse.

Day 7 (Late Morning)/Guzore/20/Where: Castle Town/With: Everyone but Ferondir and Shia

Jakub spoke to Guzore.
Hey Guzore, can I ask you something somewhat personal, since I believe you are the closest thing to me in age? Do you ever feel like a relic in the changing world that just doesn't belong?
Guzore thought for a moment.
Gee, I dunno, Jakub. I guess things have changed quite a bit in my life recently, and I do feel a bit different compared to all these people with dark pasts and tragic backstories. I can't really understand how they're feeling sometimes, which makes it hard for me to make them happy when they're sad.
There was a brief moment of silence.
I guess everyone in our group being different kinda makes us unique though. You know what I'm saying, brother? If we were all the exact same, it'd be boring. But we've got Zoras, Wizards, a penguin deer... The whole package! Hohohoho!
Guzore patted Jakub on the back as he laughed.

Ferondir frowned. "You have to give your name, if you're going to join the guild as my apprentice." Ferondir glanced up at the Mistress, and then back at Shia. "If you're worried that your surname is tarnished, it's okay. One of our oldest codes prevents us from judging your character by your name. It's a clean slate here." Ferondir gave her a small smile. "I've already judged your heart to be pure."

Shia paused awkwardly. "Well... That would be kinda hard. Can I maybe use my mother's name?" Dang it. Well, I guess if someone knows it that wouldn't be too bad... I don't think they will? She had no idea what people would think of her father's last name. She had no idea what it was. So, she hoped that they would take her mother's name.

Ferondir nodded. Either he hadn't convinced her of the code, or she was born out of wedlock. More likely the second. It didn't change his view of her at all. Considering her status, it made sense. "That's fine."
He looked around, and saw several other young wizards, a few he knew. All with their prospective apprentices.

Shia hesitated. If they know my name, they know my family. I thought I left that life behind! Why does it keep coming back? She looked at Ferondir. The woman of high blood could hear, but she wasn't the one Shia was talking to. "Please don't judge me by my blood, I left it behind when I lost it. My last name, or my mother's I guess, was..." She stopped, as if the word couldn't escape. Almost like she wanted to keep it for herself. She looked away, then murmured wistfully to her friend. "Alexstraza." She glanced at him in a way that clearly told him never to repeat that to anyone. "That's what she told people, anyway. I don't know if it's true..."
