Why do I Want Her?So, as I scrolled through the newly updated list of RPWs up for adoption, I stumbled on this girl. I was looking at every single kennel, making sure that I found the one that I'd wanted to adopt the most. And, if I didn't find anyone this round, perhaps next round I'd find the right one. As I looked through the list, I found this firm-looking RPW. When I looked at her, I got the distinct impression that this girl was loud and didn't give a rip about what others thought about her. She would definitely be her own RPW, and not take orders from anybody. That's what inspired me to try out for her, honestly - the impression she gave me when I looked at her.
So, I went off in search of family members. I mistakenly thought she was the daughter of Morpheus and Aqua, and spent several hours looking up information about that family line and PMing certain users for more information only to find out from Vox Nihili that Fiado isn't even related to them. Lemme tell you, I about lost it when I found that out. But, nevertheless, I picked myself back up and started searching again, looking for Fiado's CORRECT family, double-checking everything I needed before I bothered sending out more unnecessary PMs. Vox Nihili was a very pivotal help in helping me find the users who owned her parents, so that I could at least TRY to contact them about things. I owe her many thanks, which is why I decided to include that facet of information here.
So, yeah, that took longer than expected, but now I KNOW I have all of her correct information, and honestly, going through that really helped me realize how much I really do love the character. If I wouldn't have gone through that costly mistake, I wouldn't have known how far I really would have been willing to go for her.
Now, it wasn't only those things that spurred me to want to obtain her - her gorgeous design was also very nice, and was what attracted me to her as well. Her lovely pale grey base with the overlayed pale green and dark forest green design really spoke volumes about what the character was like personality-wise, and her amazing red eyes and lovely pale red paint really complimented the overall design perfectly.
On the topic of her design, though, this brings up an important point. SoulfireWolf did an absolutely amazing revamp of this sweetie. She started off as
a pup that really did look lovely, but I am very grateful for her revamp, which really helped the parts of her design that needed to be brought out to simply be brought out in a perfect way. SoulfireWolf's beautiful revamp is really a large part of why I wanted to try for this sweetheart, and I am so grateful for the chance to try for her. She's beautiful, and I have some really neat ideas of what to do with her characterization.
What Will I do With Her?Fiado will be a beloved character of mine, and I will do my best to get art of her and write stories about her in my free time. She will get her own spot on my Weebly character site, and will have a page dedicated to her where I will store all of her art and most of the writing I do for her. I sketch on a weekly basis, so she'll have PLENTY of traditional sketches as well. She probably won't have a TON of my RPWs be friends with her, just due to her personality, but those that are her friends will stick with her forever. So, she doesn't really need a ton of RPW friends, right? Right. Anywho, I really do love her and I hope to win her. She's beautiful, spunky, and gorgeous in every way. I'd love her a ton, and she'd always have an RPW to talk to - even if she doesn't necessarily like the RPW she's stuck chatting with.

Naval and Maritime Operations Officer, and was in charge of nearly everything pertaining to ships and the sea, particularly commanding vessels, directing search and rescue missions, and dictating engine room operations. After doing what she loved for so many years, she became tired and needed to stop, much as she hated to retire from the work that she knew was helping many other beings in the country. She tearfully retired, and is now trying her best to adjust to life back in "normal-ville," trying her best to get back into the swing of things and become like the average citizen once again...though things don't seem to be going to well at the moment, as I'm sure you'll come to see.
Hobby:Target-Practice and SwordplayA lover of nature - particularly wooded areas - Fiado loves to go and shoot her bow and arrow whenever she can. Her favorite thing to throw, however, isn't an arrow, but a sword. Brandishing this weapon gets Fiado's thoughts of her past and gets her focused on the here and now - she is easily able to focus her mind enough to throw the sword directly into tree trunks, imagining them as her opponents. She sometimes will take other RPWs in paw-to-paw competitions, where she'll fight against one RPW in the hopes of winning whatever petty prize they decide upon (something as trivial as a ticket to a baseball game, for instance). While she doesn't always even want the prize, she always likes the practice. It keeps her on her toes, and doesn't make herself feel as useless as she sometimes does.

....What other problems do people with PTSD experience? People with PTSD may also have other problems. These include:

Long Personality:Fiado has her good moments, but most of her life is spent in anger. She does her best to try to not be so angry, but as a side-effect of her PTSD, she seems to be in a constant state of fury. She is also very flighty and jittery when she's not fully aware of her surroundings. A bit obsessive and paranoid, she scopes out every inch of any place she needs to enter or go to before actually going and doing what needs to be done. If she doesn't do this beforehand, she'll be come extremely irritable and cranky and will honestly act like a jerk until she gets out of the situation. When she's uncomfortable, she'll stiffen up and say simple, one-word responses, refusing to partake in proper conversation or even tell you what's wrong with her until she becomes more relaxed.
A strong RPW, Fiado doesn't take any flak from anybody. Opinionated to a fault, Fiado doesn't fear voicing what she believes to be true. She knows what she believes and why she believes it, and if you try to persuade her to think differently, she might turn on you and become rather hotheaded, turning the normal conversation into a heated one very quickly. Because of this, she doesn't usually allow others to influence her actions. She makes her own choices in life, and lives with them. Stubborn and obstinate as a mule, she never backs down and will yell to get her point across if the other being isn't being receptive enough for her liking. Determined and strong-willed, if you tell her she can't do something she'll probably first kick you, and then turn to do whatever it is you told her she couldn't do. She believes highly in the idea that truth should be more important than other's sensitivities. Because of this, she can be quite inconsiderate of how others feel, and will often insult them without really knowing that she did. She doesn't have much of a mental filter, and will often blurt out what she feels without a second thought...unless it's a rather important secret, in which case nothing you say or do to her will make her spill the beans. Even with this talkative nature, Fiado tends to keep her history to herself. She might mention a thing or two here and there, but she won't go out of her way to tell a random stranger her troubles. To those who don't know her well, she might appear cold and uncivilized; but to those that know her well, she'll appear only somewhat secretive and trusting to only a few. If you earn her loyalty, know that you are a rare being indeed - she trusts few, and doesn't tell her life story to just anybody passing by.
Loud when she needs to be, when Fiado walks in the room, you can tell she's in charge. She gives off this vibe of knowing everything there is to know, and never being wrong about anything - though this vibe can be inaccurate, from time to time. A commander by nature, she'll soon be bossing everyone around and telling younger RPWs where to go and what to do. Somebody needs to take charge of the situation, and if not someone else, why not her?
This commanding aspect of her personality can come back to bite her, though. She can be seen as demanding, rude, and big-headed, and has been told as much in the past by those under her authority. While she can have her jerky moments where you'd honestly want to slap her in the face, no one ever does that to her because of her rank and the respect she has from others. Certainly, she has her faults, but she's not all bad. Yes, she demands a lot out of those she knows; yes, she can be rude or insulting to those she deems as "pansies;" yes, she can be a jerk and rather egotistical...but these are things that make Fiado who she is. Without these negative aspects, she wouldn't be the wolf she is today.
From being so successful in life, it took Fiado a long time to get over her pridefulness. She had the exact opposite problem that most RPWs have - she puffed herself up too much, never tearing herself down. Her head puffed up with pride, and eventually, it finally deflated - but that took years and counseling and other trips to specialists to help her see that, no, she's never been perfect and never will be. She's great at what she knows how to do, but she's not flawless in any sense of the word. Now she does realize that, but she has the opposite problem now. She tends to self-depreciate more constantly now than she used to. It's still not healthy to berate herself over stupid mistakes she made, and she continues to do that now, despite what the professionals have tried to get her to do to stop that bad habit. The only RPWs who can get through to her in this regard are good friend, Tetrix, and her father, Msitu. She knows that if she starts talking negatively about herself in front of either of these two, they'll snap her out of it very quickly and get her right back on track.
While her living environment is very messy from her hatred of cleaning, she never misplaces things and can find whatever she needs in a moment's time. And, even with the non-practical and chaotic-resembling room, she still likes to think of herself as more practical than creative. She doesn't think she really has it in her to be an artist or to draw or anything like that (other than painting, from time to time). She believes highly in the idea that being adaptable is generally more important than being organized. She definitely thinks of herself as more easily adaptable to any situation - including her messy living environment. This is because she relies more upon her own personal memories and less on her imagination. Her experiences shape who she is - not what she can dream up one late night after eating bean dip at too late an hour.
When suffering from PTSD, Fiado doesn't just feel angry - she might also feel anxious and worried for no good reason. She'll become even more easily-irritated than she usually is, and will undergo massive mood swings in a short period of time. If something triggers an unpleasant memory for her, she'll often literally curl up in a ball and rock back and forth, waiting for the pain to end. It's not physical pain that ails her - it's emotional that she feels. The memories she has from her time in the Marine Corps might have some highlights, but they also have their dark sides. On most days, Fiado does her best to push these memories away - but sometimes, even her stubborn mind can't block out the images her mind replays for her on a constant loop. This is why she suffers with insomnia. She rarely gets a good night's sleep, and this negatively impacts her in every way, shape, and form. The medical professionals who have helped her over the years attribute her anger at everything to her lack of sleep. They say that if only she could have one full week of good sleep, that her anxiety might still be there, but the anger would decrease in a very large and noticeable way. Because of all of these things she has to deal with, sometimes it is difficult for her to relate to how others might feel. This further alienates her from her fellow RPWs, who might only want to help her. But, in an episode after having a flashback, Fiado will push everyone away, wishing only be alone.
Because of her PTSD, Fiado has a few nervous habits. Her back legs will twitch if she's sitting, and her tail always twitches. The pupils in her eyes will sometimes constrict at odd points in time, which will occasionally upset her normally-good eyesight - though this quirk doesn't happen very often, however, and will usually only happen during one of her very infrequent panic attacks. Speaking of panic attacks, she normally doesn't get them...and when she does, it's usually because something awful triggered her. It takes a lot to tip her off, but when she's over the edge, you don't want to make her mad or even more upset. Your best bet is to sit with her, pat her on the head gently and slowly, sometimes rubbing her shoulders, and tell her that everything will be all right. She'll eventually get her feet back underneath her, and she'll go on as if nothing happened, internally feeling humiliated that she can't even control her own emotions.
Never finding it difficult to introduce herself to others, while Fiado isn't a social RPW, she certainly isn't anti-social. Usually highly motivated and energetic, she doesn't mind being at the center of attention, having been a commander for so long, so she doesn't mind going to the occasional party or get-together with old military buddies or going to a bar to meet new RPWs to befriend. While she won't do this all the time, she doesn't mind doing so occasionally. It gives her something new to do, so she doesn't waste her life in a forest shooting arrows and throwing swords into tree trunks.
Always alert, Fiado is slightly paranoid about something else bad happening to her. Because of this, she prefers to schedule out every bit of information about her day so that she has a plan. If something happens to disrupt her plan, she might get mad at first, but when she calms down and pencils in the change, she'll accept it and move on with her day. She often does things out of sheer curiosity, and once even climbed a mountain just because she wanted to know if she could do it! She always leaves room in her schedule for things like this, and she enjoys pushing herself to the limit, to see just how far she can go before hitting her breaking point.
While this RPW might be easy to pick out of a crowd, and might sound like a raging female bent on destruction, she does have a good side to her personality. Loving to those that love her, willing to lay down her life for the sake of her family, friends, and country, Fiado respects authority and loves the work that she was able to do for so long. She only wishes to continue her impact on the world, and wants to continue her personal training to stay stronger, better, and faster. She'll never give up hope, no matter how bleak the night may seem. She knows that the sun will rise again, and with it, a brand new day comes along, too, prepared and ready for a being to take up the fight to live a good life once again.

He's calm and collected, mellow. Think of it as a therapy animal almost (considering that was what he reminded me of in the first place) kind, caring, and loyal.
MsituFatherFiado might not always understand her father's simple and calm demeanor, but she does appreciate that he can take a tongue-lashing and not retaliate in anger. If there's anyone Fiado completely trusts in this world, it's her father. She knows he won't tell a soul what she vents to him, and knows that he'll give her advice when she's finished. While she might not take the advice, she still appreciates it, as she loves her father very much. They don't see each other often, but when they do get together for family reunions and the like, Fiado is the one that Msitu does his best to hug first.

TetrixGood FriendFiado enjoys being around Tetrix - when she wants to be around anybody. She counts this RPW as a good friend of hers, and she really does like hanging around him. She adores being around the wolf, and on her bad days, she can usually be found fuming and spouting off to him, as he nods and waits for her to finish so that he may speak. The two get along very, very well. And while Fiado wouldn't dare admit it to anyone, she has just the smallest crush on the wolf. Tetrix and she get along excellently, and on her bad days you can always count on Tetrix to be there for her, just as she tries to be there for him on his bad days, too.

She has several dark marks under her eyes that resemble freckles, and has flopped, fluffy ears that are rare to her breed. Spots adorn her entire body. Each of her paws has at least one section of dark green on it. She also has one scar over her left eye.

- Brief description of home (apartment, house, etc.): She lives in an apartment, top floor. She likes climbing the long staircase up to her door every night, as the movement helps keep her legs toned.

She has clutter everywhere, though she can oddly find anything and everything she needs rather quickly, so the junk doesn't seem to slow her down at all. - How does she dress? Modestly, most of the time. If she's hot, though, you can often find her in shorts, flip-flops, and a tank top, just trying to cool herself down.
- Price: (1=Expensive - 2=Average - 3=Inexpensive - 4=Cheap) She tends to dress inexpensively, but not cheaply. The most expensive items of clothing she owns are from her time in the military - and she doesn't wear those garments very often.

- Describe hairstyle: (long, short, crew-cut, locs, bangs, side-part, etc.) Shaved on both sides of her head with a wavy bunch of thick hair in the middle, her hairstyle sometimes might resemble a Faux-hawk (which is similar to a Mohawk). Most of the time, however, the curly strip in the middle is brushed over to one side, so as to give the impression that only one side of her head is shaved. When she's in colder weather, she'll quite literally only shave one side of her head and let the other half grow out, but once the hotter weather hits, she'll shave most of it off once again.
- Hair texture: (smooth, wavy, curly, etc.) Not quite curly; somewhere between wavy and curly. Definitely NOT straight or smooth.

- Current hair color: She prefers to dye her hair, so she now has green hair.

She doesn't plan on going back any time soon.

She stands straight but not stiffly. If she's uncomfortable, she won't slouch but will rather be very stiff and uptight in appearance.
