Puck nodded and turned into a raven, taking off and circling above Ash a few times before landing on the beach and turning back into his fey form. He knew Ash would know to keep as quiet as possible as they followed the pirates. Once they were both on shore, Puck lead the way into the woods and up into the trees once he was out of sight of the pirates, so he could hide until it was time to follow them.


Grim glared at Pan. "You can give us the token, let us collect the other two who came with us, and then let us leave the island." He stated. "That would be great."

Ash made it to land quickly, and the pirates were still getting their boat into the water. From the vantage point in the tree, he could see that Hook had stayed on board, his men who Ash didn't know the names of the only ones aboard the small craft. They rowed towards shore with a fervor that came with greed and desire to keep their gold.

Pan smirked. "Sadly, I can't do that. A deal has already been made." The little boy abandoned his attempt to get Grim to play and ran to Pan, tapping him on the shoulder with a smile. "Tag! You're it!" Now that he could call on a favor, he no longer needed to keep up the facade of niceness, which was good because all the goodwill was making him want to puke. He pushed the boy away and walked off, tossing the tray with the cookies into the bushes. He scolded himself for not dropping the act immediately. The boy fell down and began to cry, and Meghan knelt and wrapped him in a hug. "Wow. And I was starting to think he might not be so bad after all," she scoffed. She shook her head. "I'm such an idiot. I should have watched what I was saying."

"Just remember to jump in front of them before they touch the treasure." Puck said quietly, so only Ash would hear. He was afraid of the plan failing, which would cause a whole lot of trouble for him. Once the pirates got into the woods and far enough out of ear range, he started to follow them. It wasn't like the pirates were very stealthy either. They were like bulls in a china shop.


"Yes, very stupid choice of words. I thought you would've known better by now." Grimalkin stated. "Hopefully he forgets about it, because otherwise you could've just caused a whole lot of trouble for everyone."

Ash simply nodded at the comment from Puck. He knew what needed to be done. He couldn't believe the ruckus the pirates were making. A deaf bean sidhe would have heard them coming from ten miles away.

Meghan could feel herself beginning to get crabby again, and she did her best not to snap. The child was still sobbing, face buried in her side, when she responded in the most calm tone she could summon. "I'm perfectly aware of the trouble I've possibly caused. You don't need to remind me."

Puck followed along, staying in the trees. He moved very quietly, years and years of hunting making him almost silent when he wanted to be. Not that he had to, with all the noise the pirates were making. He tried to listen to what they were saying, to see if they would give away the location as they talked. Then he started to wonder if this group was meant to be a distraction. He never said the pirates could only send out one group.



Grimalkin didn't reply. He was purring contently as he groomed his tail in the sunlight, eyes closed.

Ash crept along behind Puck with only slightly less stealth. His human form now could not change the years he'd spent hunting when fully fey. The pirates were being so loud that it was practically like they wanted to be followed. He paused midstride and looked at Puck, a crease forming between his brows. In a whisper that could have been wind, he asked, "Are you thinking the same thing that I am?"

"That we're following the wrong guys?" Puck asked. "Should we split up and one of us follow theses morons while the other looks for another group of pirates? If one of us gets to the treasure first, we'll have to signal each other somehow."

[scarlet benoit]

Ash nodded. "Exactly. I seriously doubt that this group is looking for it, but then again it may be a trick. We should split like you said, and signal by sending out some kind of glamour. I'll frost the trees if my group finds it, you...I don't know. Make something grow or something."

(I can't think of how they'd make contact... )

"Birds. If I find it, you'll see a flock of Ravens." Puck said, than thought for a moment. "Is flock the right word? I know crows are a murder. Anyway, they'll be a lot of Ravens. And maybe a doppelgänger or two." Puck winked. "You want this group, or the other one?"

Ash watched the group beginning to shrink into the distance, but he wasn't worried about them. Either of them would be able to find the band again without any issues. But turning in a wide circle, he knew that he probably wouldn't be able to find the other group on time. Not on foot, at least. "I'm fine with either, but I think it would be better for you to get the other. I'm sort of earth bound, so you would find them faster, which may be the key to success in this situation."

((I'm reading The Lost Prince, and I almost screamed because I figured out why it's Call of the Forgotten. The first time Ethan mentioned that they were sort of transparent, I was like, "Oh my stars, oh my stars, oh my stars! Call of the forgotten, oh my stars, Phaed, Phaed, Phaed!" I swear my parents would have thought I was crazy if I reacted in front of them. As it was,I scared my dog with the way I was fangirling. Hahaha!))
