"I like you better." was her simple reply, taking her scalpel and making a small incision on her forearm "just in general." she added, pulling away some of the skin and looking back up at Oregon.

Ruby's eyes fluttered open, looking up at Check for a few moments and finally returning the kiss, holding it for as long as he could.

Oregon couldn't help but smile. "Thanks." She replied cheerfully. She liked being liked. "I do try to be a decent person." She mused.

Check pulled back, probably breaking the kiss before Ruby wanted to finish it. He half laid and half fell onto his back with a sigh, feeling his bandages gingerly.

"You're interesting." Maria answered plainly, rolling up the bodysuit once she removed the armor "You don't pretend to be nice, well not to the extent others do. We know people don't like us."

Ruby giggled and fell back in a dramatic way "Oh no. You killed me!" he called out before closing his eyes and holding his breath.

"Haven't seen him but I was looking for him." Felix said with a shrug "He's at red base right now. Do you think we could swing by and see him real quick?"

Uh...great. "Of course, babe. Anything you want. I'm just glad you guys are safe. I'm glad my family is safe." I breathe out, looping an arm around Felix's shoulder. "Hey, um...you seen Ruby and Maria lately? They've been acting...weird."

[Dethuma]

"I know you do." Maria answered calmly, poking the flesh in Oregon's forearm for a moment before pulling a small bit out and placing it on the tray next to the chair. "And you're lucky that I am comfortable around you enough to where I've removed my helmet. That's something I only do for my brother."

While it did end before he wanted it to but Ruby didn't complain and instead settled back down next to Check. "This is why I love you. That and several other reasons but I won't get into that now."

Felix smiled and nodded faintly, frowning slightly when Ruby and Maria were brought up. "No, why would I? I keep as far away from them, they're annoying and we have a mutual hate."

Oregon inhaled and watched Maria work, remaining calm while her arm was tampered with. "I'd noticed that. A few of the freelancers were that way at the beginning of the project. You knew when you had their trust: you saw their face and knew their name." She recalled with a nod.

Check blushed and looked away. "Kat's still here...!" He peeped. A raspy huff told him that she was indeed there, and she was listening now.

A slight chuckle sounded from behind maria. "Kinda risky, cutting into the skin in such an open area without sterilizing the area of skin or the room. You'd sooner Contaminate your sample and her before it could be of use." Chuckled an amused male voice.

Maria chuckled softly and shook her head, placing down her scalpel and then moving to clean and suture the wound. "Can you tell me about yourself? I'm genuinely interested for once." then sighing softly when she heard a man's voice. "Would you like to help me?" she asked sarcastically.

Ruby rose a brow "What's that got to do with anything?" he asked curiously, moving to give Check a quick peck on the lips.

Oregon looked around. "Hey, it's you...!" She said, not able to see the man, but recognizing the voice. "You were there when Kat's leg was replaced. I was right." She said looking around still. She stopped when she couldn't find anyone, instead looking at Maria again. "I... Uh, I'm married. That's kinda interesting. I never had combat training before PFL. I've been technically dead a few times and revived...." She offered, tilting her head and nonverbally asking if that was the sort of things she was asking about.

"Well...! I'm shy!" Check whined, blushing deeply and burying his face in Ruby's side.

"Yes, yes, yes. I remember you. I remember a lot of things. And its already to late. You've already exposed her to plenty of bacteria and virus's that'll possibly kill her. Then she'll be on my table. Then we'd truly test that nickname goner now wouldn't we?" He mused with a chuckle.

Maria groaned and turned around "Do you want something sweetie?" she asked in annoyance, not seeming bothered by his presence in the slightest, putting up a finger for Oregon to wait.

Ruby chuckled, allowing Check to bury his face in his side despite his own blush. "So am I, that's why I pretend she isn't there."
