- Dipper-: A gray tabby or speckled gray cat (American dipper/Cinclus mexicanus)
- Dove-: A brown-and-white, tawny, or lighter brown tortoiseshell cat (Mourning dove/Zenaida macroura)
- Duck-: A speckled or dappled brown cat; a tortoiseshell cat (American widgeon/Anas americana; these are a winter visitor species, as a more permanent version only live on the eastern portion of the state, whereas the cats live on the western part of the state) / a brown-and-white or tortoiseshell cat (Lesser scaup/Aythya affinis) / a dark tortoiseshell or black cat (Ring-necked duck/Aythya collaris) / a tortoiseshell or brown (speckled or tabby) cat (Wood duck/Aix sponsa)
