Neither pure, nor gracious, nor even rebellious, this
young lass is a rather strange one. She is the kind of
person who could be sitting outside of a circle of people
arguing, entertaining herself with the day's paper and
then say something completely unrelated that she may
have read. At this point, the group would look at her
confused and she would begin to speak in metaphors,
only confusing them more, but by the end, her words
always seemed to make sense in one way or another for
they seemed to make people think. She's not wise or
even all that knowledgeable. Though she is a hardhead.
Practicality is what she's familiar with, leaving her to be
rather impulsive and aggressive in her decisions. She
doesn't often stop to think what she is doing before she
does it as she is quick with decisions. Katya is confident
in herself and is quite instinctive, intuitive and even a
bit observant of the area around her as she prefers to
sit alone and watch the people move about. She's a
curious young girl and is reserved, sharing very little of
herself as she intrigues herself with oddities. She's a
good listener, and will help with anyone who is looking
for help with just about anything. She can be rather
blunt with her opinions and even stubborn to shake any
of them. She can be ambitious when she has an idea,
as well as headstrong and sometimes even competitive,
though most of the time she is rather placid and open
to new ideas. Criticism is one of her big issues, though
she just tries to keep her mouth shut as she listens. She
is good with keeping secrets and loves a good mystery
and adventure every now and them. Russian heritage is
what runs through her veins, but it isn't exactly her
nationality. Her name Katya means "pure/chaste".
Masha means "rebellious woman". She isn't rebellious,
but rather prefers her own unusual path. She was given
the nickname Annushka by her Babushka "grandmother"

Okay, finally done with work for the week. Didn't get to sleep in much because my boyfriend called at 7 am but we had to discuss Star Wars. xD

Yeah, I think I'm leaning towards the fair-haired girl too; she was the one that came to mind for brainstorming future conversations and development. And with how rusty I am at roleplaying, any hint of inspiration needs to be taken advantage of.

I'll work on her on and off throughout the day; also enjoying the time with family and being home with them.

Got a good start on things: viewtopic.php?f=85&t=2906935&p=93830974#p93830974
I figure she's been with this more recent group for a year or so? So if someone wants to be a friend that'd be fine.

I'll have to read any roleplay posts that are up because I am really curious how the first people are sent out to explore and how people react and such

    Merry Christmas!

Also, should we do relations for our survivors?

That'd be fine with me. I said that my chick joined a different group of people about a year ago and came from up north but maybe she sought out a particular group due to having a relative, or perhaps has started making a friend since arriving.

I've only just begun reading the actual roleplay so I'm not sure what survivors are doing yet to explain living conditions and recent societal norms and such. Not sure if we're saying they're all from the same group, a few different groups, what the group sizes are that they're from, etc. I'm imagining anywhere from 10-50 people in a little group, or even more for a few more permanently-based ones that have essentially become villages.

And I was imagining that predators feeding on the diseased bodies would be affected but in a mix between a couple things - somewhat rabid behavior but then dying and the body bloating until it even explodes (I remember learning about whatever it was that causes bloated wildlife carcasses in one of my courses for my degree but I can't remember what it was specifically). But then I realized it was likely irrelevant because any predators at the time would be long gone and likely wouldn't have reproduced after being infected (and I don't see it as being something that'd be passed on to offspring at all).

so one question, i know it's christmas day for most people so i won't bother you all after this... but do we do relationships for our survivors? are all of them in a group, or are they individual survivors? i was just wondering because if i need to do a relationship chart for nathaniel, i want to do it soon c:
have a great christmas day!

I was just wondering the same thing.
If I get a vote, I would want them to be like a little squad (or perhaps several squads and duos).
Either way, I'm going to make a relationship chart because I know that at some point they'll interact.
