[[ crappy post sorry ]]as james approached russell, he saw that he was currently in a conversation with Lord Demerius, sone of the more infamous royalty. he sneered at the lord, giving him a dirty look. if the lord messed with james didn't even remember inviting the lord. james was able to pick up some of russell's words, hearing the feisty phrases, which caused james to stifle a laugh. russell, in addition to his looks, was pretty funny. entertaining, that is. james passed the lord as he stomped away, giving him a light nudge. james' dark eyes met with russell's, a real smile plastered on his face. he stopped, about a foot away from russell, unsure of whether to make a move or not. his eyes darted to the floor for a milisecond awkwardly, letting the moment pass before he answered his fiance's question. james beamed at the praise, as he grabbed a nearby wineglass, filled with a fine red wine and untouched. he lifted it above his head, his eyes sparkling excitedly. maybe their marriage would go ok after all?
james pondered russell's question, swishing the red wine around in the glass. he stared at the red liquid, unsure of how to answer. finally, he came up with one. "it definitely doesn't feel any different. but maybe that will come." james looked up at russell, and added, "i'm not quite sure i'm ready, but don't tell that to my mother." he tried at a lighthearted comment, but wasn't sure if that was really the right thing to do at the moment. "how does it feel to be engaged to a king?" james meant this as a half serious question, knowing that it was pretty scary for both of them. james took a mighty stance, in an attempt to be funny, but gained a dirty look from his mother and a few weird stares from everyone else. "can't i have any fun?" he mumbled under his breath, irritated at everyone's lack of humor. james sighed and met russell's eyes for the last time. "i have to get back now, i'm not really allowed to linger very long. farewell, for now, prince." james bowed his head, then turned on his heels, disappearing from the throne room.

RUSSELL ❖ MCVEIGH
RANK CROWN PRINCE xx HEALTH 100% xxWORD COUNT 464
The King's almost foolishness brings a small smile to Russell's stiff lips. Within the few minutes they were together, Russell discovered James is an amusing man. Perhaps their married life would not be as horrible as Russell thought. As soon as the thought got to him, however, James had to leave. Russell is disappointed, but also a tad bit relieved. James had asked him a difficult question, and one the prince isn't ready to answer. Although their engagement is as real as the King's coronation, Russel is still having a hard time wrapping his head around it. He peers down at the red wine in his glass before sipping it down. Typically calm and collected, the prince of Tyche has no idea what to do to settle his uncommon nerves. So naturally, he begins to drink.
It isn't until his fifth glass when Queen Andre decides he has had enough. Hesitantly the Queen places his frail hand on Russell's shoulder, minding the royal uniform's many ropes and pads, before taking the prince's nearly empty glass. "I think you should be quenched by now." Queen Andre places the glass down on the nearest table. The blonde boy pouts but does nothing to retrieve the savory wine. Instead he takes the water Queen Andre places in his shaking hands and downs the entire glass with two gulps. He doesn't realized how much the wine had affected him until a pounding ache rattles his head. His vision becomes slightly blurry and his mouth dry. Russell lets out a weary sigh, "I think I'll rest for now," and sits on a nearby chair.
The prince struggles to hold his composure as his eyes grow heavy. In an attempt to stay well, Russell places his hand under his chin and props his elbow on the chair's arm. Another sigh threatens his lips. It was not wise of him to drink the wine as quickly as he did, especially with his low alcohol tolerance. He could have easily slipped up and made a fool out of his kingdom. "Are you well, your majesty?" A soft, timid voice breaks him from his self hatred. He turns to his right to see the girl from before - Isabel - munching on a small cake. The crumbs trail down her yellow ballgown but she pays no mind, instead fixated on the dreary prince before her. "..Yes, I am, thank you," Russell slips on his polite smile once again. Despite her kindness, Russell wants no more than to hurry away. He does not trust himself in his current state, not did he want to be in the castle in the first place. The sooner the ceremonies end, the sooner he will be able to retreat back to the safety and comfort of his bed.
((honestly this has nothing to do with James but I have no clue what should happen next now that James is gone????))

[[ omg, this post though ]]"oh for god sakes, pick up!" the male hung up his phone and dialed his boyfriend's number once more. russell wasn't answering, and it freaked the crap out of james. their relationship was already on the verge of dying, and he had an essay due tonight at midnight. on astronomy. james was majorly stressing at this point. james dialed russell's number once more, biting his fingernail nervously and kicking at the white rug that was covered with stains from food and drink spills. his dorm was a complete mess, things strown all over the place, nothing in its place. that was going to have to be fixed. james made a mental note of everything that was not in perfect place, and continued waiting for russell to pick up. nothing could be more excruciating then waiting for your boyfriend to pick up the phone. james' mind swirled with all types of excuses russell might make up, once he answered the dang phone. james didn't think he was in the mood for any of them tonight, but after the fight they had last night james would have to be able to not lose it again.
guilt pulled at his own heart as james remembered the fight from last night. they had been fighting stupidly, slightly intoxicated. they had been at a bar, but had graciously taken outside. james remembered what he had said to russell. "don't be such an idiot!" he had screamed at his friend, tears beginning to brim. "you know how i feel about my homosexuality! you can't go around telling people and then expecting me to be ok with it!" he remembered the look russell had given him, the one that read he was truly sorry. everything after that was a blur, but james did remember saying, "it's over, russell! its dang over!" james had then slapped russell, and stumbled away. when he woke up, he was in his dorm. and james had no idea, but russell had probably found him collapsed, and dropped him off before going back to his place. james regretted everything he had said, and wanted to make it up to russell. to apologize. but he wasn't sure if he would be able to handle it.

RUSSELL ❖ MCVEIGH
MAJOR LITERATURE xx HEALTH 100% xxWORD COUNT 894
"Ohh, dude, what happened to you?" Eddy stared at his roommate in pure shock as the tired blonde stared at his own reflection. Russell sported heavy bags under his red eyes, tears still threatening to flow. He seemed to be paler than usual, his typically perfect complexion white as a ghost and littered by red splotches. Just along his left cheek bone was a mark darker than the rest, one nearly blue compared to the other reds. The literature student never looked so disheveled before, and Eddy had an idea why. "Was it Ja-" An icy glare immediately shut Eddy's mouth before Russell let out a long sigh. His hands gripped the counter edge tightly in efforts to calm himself. It didn't work. "I-I'm sorry, Eddy, but I just need to be alone right now." His voice trembled but Eddy stepped back nonetheless.
The next fifteen minutes were spent with Russell breathing, heaving over the small dorm sink. His back arched more and more with each deep breath, trying desperately to relax. He couldn't, no matter the attempts. Last night's fight continued to play in his head, and it made him suffer more with each passing second. Although slightly intoxicated, Russell remembered the night clearly. With the multiple missed calls from James he had gotten that morning, he assumed James did too. Russell had looked at the phone and even held it in his hand every time James had called, but never answered. He was scared. He was so terribly scared of what James had to say. He feared the words James had screamed the night before would come through the phone today. "It's over, Russell! Its dang over!" Those words didn't shatter his heart, but his entire being.
Russell knew he screwed up by spewing talk of his boyfriend to Megan Smith, the loudest loud mouth there was, but he couldn't help it. He had been overjoyed by their date - their perfect date - that he could not keep quiet about it for one second. He just had to tell someone, and talking to an indifferent Eddy about it just wasn't enough. Of course, Megan told her friends about him and James, and they to theirs. It didn't help that Megan mixed up the details to make the story more interesting; instead of an innocent kiss in the park, she had them going into a love hotel at sunset. Everything escalated after that, but Russell didn't care enough to ask about the many stories people heard. He did not think it was such a big deal, especially with the large population of lgbtq students at their school, but he knew James wasn't ready to reveal their relationship.
A tear finally fell into the sink but Russell quickly and furiously wiped the others away. He was in the wrong, he should not feel sorry for himself. However his attempts, the tears kept coming. One after another they went down the drain as Russell began to shake with sobs. He couldn't believe he had screwed up, that he betrayed his boyfriend of five months. The bruise on his cheek from James' drunken slap throbbed and ached but Russell felt he deserved it. And that he didn't deserve James. Eddy then decided to appear once again, but this time with a box of tissues. "Hey.. Just thought you would be needing these.." The Engineer major set the box down before quickly retreating back to the living room. Russell took a tissue gratefully then looked at his reflection. He looked horrible. "I know you may not want to hear this.." Eddy's hesitant voice came again, "but maybe you should go see him?"
For once, Russell thought Eddy was right. (Poor Eddy.) Even though Russell had messed up, it wasn't like neither of them hadn't before. Their relationship was rocky to begin with, being both gay and college students. But they managed to survive each other for five months, why not longer? Sniffing, Russell straightened and wiped the tears from his wet face. Russell was never one to give up so easily; anything's possible when it comes to James, as sappy as it sounds. Exiting the bathroom the platinum blonde slipped on his shoes and gave his roommate a grateful smile. "Thanks." Eddy seemed surprised at first before he sported a large grin of his own and held up his thumb. "Go get 'im."
As quickly as he stopped crying, cause it was fast, Russell ran out of the room. Really he wasn't big on running or exercise at all, that was more of James' thing, but he couldn't help but rush over to his boyfriend's (or ex-boyfriends') room. He was desperate, and tired, and sad, and hopeful, and just a whirlwind of emotions. He wanted so badly to apologize, to mend their wounds but had no clue as to where he should start. "Hey James, sorry I screwed up, now let's screw??" wouldn't work. Russell became so worried about what he would say that he didn't realize when he was at James' door until he nearly ran into it. A panting mess, Russell quickly knocked on the hard door and shouted, "James?" Maybe it wasn't the best tactic to do when they were hiding their relationship, but Russell didn't have the mindset to think about it. He needed to fix things, and to fix them now.

[[ i can't even: "Hey James, sorry I screwed up, now let's screw??" i died
ahh crappy post im so sorry ]]hearing a knock on his cream-colored door, james' heart leaped for joy as he threw his phone at the wall, not bothering to think about how badly it could be injured. he leapt at the door excitedly, thinking only one thing. it had to be russell. if it wasn't, james might just cry, again. james took a millisecond to prepare himself emotionally, knowing that no matter what, he would cry. the athlete flung open the door and there he was. russell. james threw his arms around the neck of russell, unsure if this was true happiness. if it wasn't, james wasn't sure what was. as expected, james began bawling into the neck of his boyfriend. "i'm so sorry," he shook uncontrollably, the tears falling down his cheeks. he pulled back to stare at russell, happy to see his glorious face. "i- we, messed up, so so badly." james kissed russell's cheek, unable to stop the flow of tears. finally, james pulled away unwillingly. "i'm just so happy to see you. i think we need to talk about last night." james sniffed, wiping his eyes with his sleeve. james went into the room, only hoping that his boyfriend would follow in. they were gonna be here a while, having a heart to heart. james loved russell so much, and if this talk wasn't going to save them, he wasn't sure what would. they were meant to be together, james believed it well. besides, he could probably forgive russell. after all, it wasn't much of a secret that they were homosexual.

MAJOR LITERATURE xx HEALTH 100% xxWORD COUNT 264
He could hardly believe how open James was being, especially when his boyfriend had kissed his cheek and cried on his shoulder. It was a, as guilty as he is, glorious moment and a real eye opener. Hearing James' sobs brought tears to Russell's own eyes and he struggled to hold them back even as James left his side once again. Russell quickly followed behind the brunette, not wanting to be very far from his boyfriend. He wanted to be back in James' arms and made sure of it by wrapping his arms around James' neck and hugging him with all he had. Russell bit back tears but couldn't keep a few from landing on James' shirt. He apologized quietly before taking a deep breath in an effort to calm himself. He was so utterly scared. His heart was pounding a mile a minute and Russell could only imagine how James felt. "Okay," the blonde whispered out more to himself than to James and let go of his boyfriend. He didn't trust himself to stand without kneeling and begging James for whatever, so instead he sat on James' bed. Hesitantly and almost timidly, Russell found his voice and wiped his tears. "I... I'm so sorry too. I know I shouldn't have blabbed to Megan... no, to anyone, about us. I don't know why I did it, and I know I crossed a line." His eyes glossed up with tears again but Russell fought them back. "I won't do it again, I promise, so please please don't say.. please don't say that you want to break up, James."

the athletic failxxxtags russell his bfbefore even beginning to speak, james just stared at his boyfriend, sitting next to him. all the things they had said. everything that had happened between them, and everything they had been through. all those feelings nearly erupted out of james as russell spoke. russell's apology was better than james could have ever conjured up in his own tiny little imagination. after he finished, james blinked a few times, quickly and then slow, trying to figure out what to say. plus, james was just so messed up right now that his mind was boggled. his heart, too. "i don't. and i never, ever will." james said, his voice shaky, and barely above a whisper. "russell mcveigh, i will never ever break up with you, until it comes time. and of course, when it is mutual." james added, holding up his right had, as if it were a vow. because it wasn't a marriage vow or a court of law, james saw it as merely a promise. "and i'm sorry, too, for being so stupid. i overreacted. i shouldn't have gotten so mad about something that obviously wasn't a secret." he cracked a small smile, knowing that pretty much everyone knew that the two of them were homosexuals. it was almost too blatant. james held out his left hand, an offering for russell to take it. "so whaddya say, pal?"

He stared at his boyfriend in both amusement and disbelief. Russell could not believe James forgave him so easily, and barely could believe he forgave James. It was wrong for James to have hit him, but Russell did not have the heart to hold it against the brunette. They both made stupid mistakes. Russell was more than eager to forgive and forget. Always a cry baby, the blonde was unable to control his tears as he was flooded with relief. He was terrified their relationship would end, that the days spent with James would be no more. A shuttering laugh escaped him before Russell took James' hand and shook it as if first meeting the brunette. "We're both stupid, pal," he tried to tease and wiped his tears. "Now sit down so I can hug you cause I can't feel my legs right now."

the athletic failxxxtags russell his bfjames took a seat next to russell and laughed a little bit, still holding russell's hand. nothing could come close to compare how james was feeling. relief, love, but a tiny bit of skepticism. the man couldn't help but feel like something bad was going to happen to them - that the tenseness would drive them both overboard. james pulled russell into a hug, using the hand russell had taken. "what about school?" james asked, while in the embrace. it was a horrible question to ask then and there, but he knew that they were both struggling with college life. the work load that they had both been given was insane. "the professor is driving me mad with work." and besides, james and russell had different ideas on how they wanted their lives to end up. russell was studying literature, something james found incredibly boring. despite how much james complained about astronomy, he really loved it. the universe had always interested him. so what were they going to do about that, after they finished college. after a moment, james pulled away, studying the blonde's face. "i mean, after college." they would probably just end up moving out together, but still. it was something to ponder, despite how scary it was to think about.
