Christmas eve we go to midnight mass, where my parents always sing in the choir. Then we head home and sleep till about 8 or 9, where we open gifts and drink coffee. Dunno how other people do it but we always go in order with gifts, one at a time, youngest to oldest cycling until we're all done. After all the gifts are open, pops starts on his wonderful Christmas breakfast, which consists of an egg casserole and french toast with grand monier in it. Then the extended family comes over, and we all open stockings. Then we take a break and dad works on Christmas dinner (he really likes to cook), which is usually Prime Rib (so good!), mashed potatoes that has spinach and cheddar cheese in it, yorkshire pudding which is cooked with the fat juices from the prime rib, and some other kind of veggie. Dinner is followed by coffee, and if its a year that our cousins from out of town are visiting, we often play charades, and sometimes have a white elephant gift exchange that consists of absolutely horrid gifts
Its fun, for what its worth
