"Really?" Swiftpaw asked as her face lit up. Wow! I can't believe I am going to be mentored by the leader! she thought. "Thank you!" She said with a purr.

"You're welcome, swuftpaw." She chuckled before touching her nose to the apprentices head. "You're a very lucky cat, you know."

"I know, thank you" Swiftpaw said with a purr. "I can't wait until I'm a warrior!" She purred.

She purred, "Now lets get some prey for those pesky elders." And she padded out to an area of the forest that she knee was flowing with prey.

Swiftpaw nodded and followed the leader silently. She lifted her head and scented the air for any sign of prey.

After scenting a vole, she whispered, "Do you smel anything?"l

[PenguinQueen]

Swiftpaw nodded. "Vole... I think." She whispered.

[BriSmiles]

"Good, now show me what you would do and get it!" She murmured, unsheathing her claws at the last words.

Swiftpaw stood still for a second while she figured out which direction the wind was blowing. She crept forward slowly when she moved downwind from the vole. She spotted the vole near the roots of a tree and crept forward. Keep it together. she told herself before she shot forward. The vole saw her and started to run, but Swiftpaw was faster. Swiftpaw caught the vole and killed it with a quick nip. Sloppy, but at least I caught it. she thought before moving her gaze to meet her leader's.

Snowstar nodded, "Good job! Just try to go after when you're as close as possible and make sure you don't run messily, the more you avoid twigs and dry grass/leaves the better."
