eveningpelt watched as coldpaw walked towards her. "good morning, coldpaw. how did you sleep?" she meowed to him before adding, "i was just checking our herbs. seems like we need to go out and get a few things."

The light colored tom nodded and dipped his head towards her. "My sleep was fine. Yours? And I noticed." He said as he then started out of camp with his mentor.

Silverclaw stood up and grabbed foxtail and hauled him to his paws and walked over to where oakfall was making patrols. "Is there anything you need us to do?" she asked politely.

Foxtail had stayed quiet the whole time, but he dipped his head respectively to oakfall and Ripplestar.

"Okay I just wanted to send the message that we don't take kindly to intruders but your idea works just as well." Oakfall meowed. He turned to Silverclaw.
"Can you go on a hunting patrol with me and Feathermist?"


Flamekit sneezed and shivered as if he was being frozen solid by the wind. His fur was radiating heat. He opened his eyes feebly and closed them as he started coughing.

"I slept..." eveningpelt began before recalling how she had been plagued by constant, reoccurring nightmares nearly all night again. "i slept great, thanks..when i was checking our storage, i noticed we were a little low on poppy seeds and catmint. if we get those, we should be good, at least for now anyway.

Swiftpelt was awoken by an odd sense. She felt as if something was missing. Instinctively, she woke up, and looked down towards the curve of her belly. Sootkit was nuzzled against her warm fur, but Frostkit and Flameout weren't with her. She looked up, seeing that Flamekit was in his own nest shivering. "Flamekit!" she said in a hushed yet startled tone. "Come here!"

"Show me how to fight , I'll show you how to win."

The kit then woke up as she heard her mother's voice. "Flamekit, 'mere." The she-kit mewed sleepily.

"If you lay a claw on her, watch your back."

The leader nodded to Oakfall and dipped his head towards the two warriors joining them. "If anything, I'll lead a border patrol when you guys return," Ripplestar suggested as he was trying to get used to being a leader.

The tom nodded as they walked out of the camp, it was snowing lightly, not enough to be freezing, but just enough to send a chill down your spine. "This Leaf-Bare is coming earlier than last time." Coldpaw commented as he tried to scent the herbs.

You can come too Foxtail, we need all the prey we can get." Oakfall meowed as he saw the cat dissapointed.
"Okay,everybody going on the hunting patrol follow me!" He announced as he started to leave the camp.

eveningpelt nodded slowly as she walked. "much earlier than last year. it's going to be a long one." she said, shivering slightly. "do you remember what catmint looks like, coldpaw?"

Flamekit let out a raspy cough. He couldn't breathe because his nose was stuffed up.
