the blizzard was like no other.
all the wolves were either dying or dead. the packs were falling apart and everything turned
into true chaos. mountain loup gris was the legend that held one of the last few packs. on the
northern side of the mountain, the pack's tradition of arrange mating has been passed down
from generation to generation to ensure the numbers of the successors would be stable enough
to be alright if any pups were killed by the cold. no one could oppose to it, know that it was
the only thing that would save them, knowing that they had to suffer the aftermath of it all.
[ this is a remake of my old role play. ]

Vivid Dream
Vivid Dream woke up with a start. He was just having a bad dream. He looked out the entrance of the cave. He could see the wind moving the trees. He could hear the cracking and shuddering of the trees as they shook fiercely. Then Vivid realized, "Today is when we get mates." Vivid Dream said aloud. Vivid sat down and watched the trees. He loved that sound. The way the trees moaned.

A white body lay still in a meadow surrounded by nothing; just snow for as long as the eye could see. Her hazel orbs took in the land before her, scanning the distant tree tops breaking the horizon. The distant sounds of the other wolves awakening and birds singing their tunes made her stir from her still position. Rose took in a deep breath of fresh air, the cold piercing her lungs with pain, before exhaling the now stale air with a puff of breath. The snow-white wolf found herself treading back to camp, through the heavy snow, her paws carrying her home of their own accord, as if they could sense the importance of the day. Rose looked back to where she was sleeping and saw the indents in the snow where she had slumbered the previous night. She listened to her paw steps, growing tired once more to the sound of their peaceful rhythm. The mentress found herself at the entrance of the den area and slipped through the trees with the grace of a falling snowflake, hoping no one was worried about her whereabouts. She hated letting others down.
indentOnly one other wolf was awake this early time. Despite her feelings towards him, she dipped her head in greeting and respect. Pushing her way into her den, Rose laid still in her nest, calmly floating on a wave of thoughts. She wondered whom she would be paired with, not that it mattered because she couldn't choose. The young mentress knew better than to lie to herself at a time like this, despite doing it to herself all the time. She wouldn't ever be happy, but she wouldn't complain about her fate. What good would that bring? None. Rose laid on her side, staring at the ceiling as she let her mind succumb to the clutches of sleep. If one were to ask where she had been, she would tell them the truth, but she wouldn't be able to tell them why. Perhaps it was a gift to herself, allowing her some solitary time before she were tied down for the rest of her life.

ATHOS
█ hunter
█ five
█ scent; rosewood
█ no crush/mate
█ tags; open
the male of onyx colored fur was still sound asleep, the steady breathing coming from him indicated this. athos was not a late riser but the male had been the last to turn in for the night, staying up long past when the moon was highest in the sky. true, he should have been asleep because today would be important, but the male had survived worse with even less sleep than he actually got. the den was rather warm from his overall large body and thick coat, melting any snow that dared enter. compared to his pack mates, he tended to still out like the black sheep, literally, when it came to color, though he thought nothing of it. the only issue it caused was hunting at times. during months like these, his coat did nothing to help him stay hidden from prey. after all, black was the complete opposite of white and one could probably see him a mile away. it was a challenge but the male tended to do fairly well regardless.
eyes opened to reveal the warm chocolate gaze of the male. yawning, he let his eyes adjust to the dimness of the den before he rose and padded out. it was lightly snowing it seemed, athos was not displeased with this, the male actually enjoyed the snowy months. he glanced around, seeing who was awake or probably still asleep. they were to report to aleksandr's den to find out their mates today but athos was in no rush. stretching his long limbs, he let himself lay down on his stomach outside the den, stretching out his hind legs, simply waiting and watching, something he did often.

█ nanny

left. right. left. right. the only thing that the female was doing was putting one paw in front of the other as she back tracked to the camp. she had left long before the sun rose above the horizon and the female had just been running for a good hour. about thirty minutes prior she had decided to head back, realizing she had gone a good distance from the camp. today was the day she would receive a mate, though valentina had no quarrels unless it was vivid. she could not stand the male and he just rubbed her the wrong way. finally the familiar sight of home came into view and she quickened her pace. the quiet fae blending easily with her surroundings, the only things standing out were her amber eyes and black nose and paw paws. val was not one of the female to think a mate was suppose to be founded on love. she thought it was more of a convenience in order to have pups rather than making it as complicated as a love affair. though the female also had never experienced that type of love before so she could not know if it was worth it or a better way to find a mate rather than be assigned one and hope for the best.
she began to wonder if anyone was awake yet, it was still early after all. deep in though, she failed to see the tree root in front of her and she went tumbling forward, straight into the centre of the camp. a cheeky grin covered the female's maw as she collected herself and laughed slightly. that was val for you, clumsy at times but overall very observant unless she was deep in thought. the white female sat down on her haunches, glancing around the camp curious to see any familiar faces that she would want to talk to. she sighed when she saw only vivid and gave the male a nod in greeting. if he were to strike a conversation, val would be polite and talk with him, not liking him was not something she showed. everyone though she enjoyed the company of everyone when she was skilled at being pleasant even with the most annoying of wolves, or in this case, temperamental.
