The word synesthesia makes me taste Coconut Ginger Rice, my favorite rice of all time. Words have taste for me, ex, the word 'chicken' "tastes" like popcorn and the word 'smoothie' "tastes" like coffee. I can also see auras; anyone related to me has a solid color with a sort of texture to it, and however their moods are the particles of the auras go along with that mood, say someone's scared, their particles move closer to their body. People I'm not related to have a shiny silver aura with flecks of color. If someone was in the same spot for about 30 minutes or more some of the aura particles remain there for 10-15 minutes.

that's really interesting! I know that some people see people's auras if they have syn. and they get acupuncture... does it happen to you just, like, on a regular basis?

also, does anyone else have syn. making it seem like inanimate objects have personalities?
that made it really difficult to clean out my room this past weekend >.<

Wait, what is synesthesia and why are people saying it's a colour.

I'm so confused.

Synesthesia is a thing where people associate some things, such as words or sounds, with other things, such as tastes or colors. For example, many people on this thread including myself have word-color synesthesia, where we'll associate words, numbers, and/or letters with colors or perhaps textures or other things of the sort. Take the title, for instance. Depending on the severity and type of syn a person has they may or may not actually see/experience the color/taste/sound/etc -- I can say for myself that I have a fairly mild case of synesthesia, so while my number 3 is green I don't actually see or experience green when I see the number 3. It's just green "in my head", if that makes any sense.

Everyone with synesthesia has it slightly differently, though, so my experiences certainly don't apply to everyone. There are also many other types of synesthesia than word-color.

I hope I've explained this adequately, feel free to ask more questions if you're confused.

Oh wow my band director has this, he told us once but I forgot the name until now. :^0
He'll describe to us the color of how we just played ("I would say the beginning is like a dark purple. You know what I mean?")
Sometimes he'll ask us what color we thought it was, but those are always way different for each person haha

Anybody heard of sound-emotion syn? It's pretty closely related to misophonia as well.

I've had acupuncture before, and all I see are blurry dots. Not as pretty as people say, because they're all grey and it hurts my eyes. Also, the herbal scents drive me nuts :c
So basically different people have different cases in syn. acupuncture.
