He then stopped. "Alright," He took a deep breath. "We need herbs and a nice, comfortable place... Right?" He rushed away in search for the leaf.
Once he returned, Dune dropped the bundle. "Alright," He said again. "I guess... Now..." He stopped and grabbed a stick. "Bite onto this when you are really in pain. Got it? Okay." Dune sat back and waited.

Slowly, Dune sniffed the tiny creature. He wrapped his tail around the male's wriggling body and pulled him closer, examining him. "He's adorable," he whispered.
The little child stared up at Dune with large, wondering eyes. They suddenly narrowed and Abdiel opened his toothless mouth and bit down onto Dune's paw.
"Oh, okay." Dune said. "Thanks." He nudged the cub with his nose and licked him comfortably. Until he noticed a strange marking on his paw.
"Julie!" Dune whispered quickly. "Come, look!" He held up Abdiel's paw, revealing a very well hidden misty looking shape that was in between two of his pads.
"It's the sign of the animus." Dune squealed as quietly as he could. "Our son is the most special creature around!"

From the moment I was born, my parents knew I was special. I remember Papa held up my paw, showing it to Mama. From what I can remember, he had said I was some rare animus creature that was born with some kind of special power... Or... Something.
I'm not to sure what this whole animus stuff is right now. Probably because I'm only about a few day old, that is.
I have always wondered why Papa was so exited, while Mama was still cooing over my sister, Teophilia. I don't what really happened after that, because Papa wrapped his tail around my face, blocking my sight.
