Ryo stopped trying to stand and sank gratefully to the ground, panting. "I've been in the ring for 2 years now...." He rasped, his voice becoming even more raspy than from the damage done long ago to his throat. "The first 2 years of my life was spent in the wild, with my wolf family. All of my life has been one hell..." He rasped.

He gestured at the scars on his paws and at his throat. Then he moved slightly and showed her the wound on his hip.

Looking his scars over from a few feet away, Cookie felt sympathy for the young brute, "How old are you?" Her tail wagged as she looked over her shoulder, grasping a sight of two drunken young men getting into a fist fight. They were obviously part of the ring. A growl crept out of her throat, "Come on. I'll protect you while your weak. We gotta get out of here before they notice your missing."

She stood, shaking out her paw. Without warning, she walked up to the wolf-dog and nudged his shoulder encouragingly, "I ain't gonna stay long, though. I'm usually a one night stand before I'm gone. Don't expect anymore than that from me." She kept her eyes glued to the two men. Something about them was off. Even as they angrily slapped eachother, there was something about them that made the fae's skin crawl.

Philonicus sighed as he saw a German Shepherd lying on the beach. He looked back at Dakota and gave a quick nod, before standing and slowly padding out from beneath the boardwalk. He flinched at the slightest movement from a human. Some looked at him with concerned eyes, others coudln't have cared less. As he neard Ink, he walked taller, his short tail sticking straight out. Reaching the seemingly unconcious canine, Nic nudged her gently with his ebony nose. A foolish human took a quick step forward and Nic warned it to retreat with the bearing of his gleaming ivories and a deep, rumbling snarl.

]Ink moved slightly from the dog nosing her, and heard growls through the blackness. Her mouth was dry, to dry to speak. Ink was slowly awaking again, but couldn't get up. Wind had blown her silky, sandy fur in different directions and made her look even dirtier. Would Ink survive? She thought so, she couldn't feel pain right now, but knew it would come. Her wolf blood made her stronger. Ink just managed to mumble, but nothing else

Ryo nodded, his own pelt bristling as he watched the men. He laid against the female dog, gasping with pain as his hip brushed her fur, leaving a small, faint smudge of red on her fur. "I'm 4 years old." He said quietly, watching the humans as they fought. It slowly began to progress into something stronger.

His pelt bristled more and his amber eyes flashed.

Having the weight of the other dog put onto her, Cookie winced. It was a lot to support. She could feel his leg brush against her as he winced in pain, "Sorry. I'm not the best match since I'm not as big as you." She took a small step forward, waiting for him to limp along behind her. She wasn't going to leave him alone. No, that just wasn't in her nature.

She took her eyes off the men to look at the brute behind her, "My name is Cookie." She looked down at the grass, unsure of what to do next. It seemed to be awkward around this dog, and yet she didn't want to leave him alone.

Philonicus whimpered softly and prodded her again with his wet nose. "Please wake up..." he mumbled, ears twitching. Occasionally stopping to growl at a human, he continued to nudge her gently. He plopped down into the moist sand and sighed, deciding he'd lie there and wait 'till she woke up completely, even if it meant having to deal with humans. He settled down and rested his head next to her back, his eyes darting around wearily.

Ryo smiled grimly. "Nice to meet you Cookie. My name is Ryoko." He said quietly, his voice muted. He wasn't fearful of the humans, but something about them set his teeth on edge and he knew danger when he saw it. And it was always best to avoid danger. He limped beside Cookie, taking his weight off her a bit, knowing that he was slightly bigger than her.

Cookie nodded, "Nice to meet you too. You know., I don't mind your weight. You're a little heavy, but I weigh 115 pounds. I should be fine." She continued forward, looking back at the humans. They seemed to be screaming at eachother and she could catch a few words, "My dog is gone! You can't make me leave! I can find a new dog!" on man said.

"No dog, no ring. Now come back when you have another dog to fight!" the other man said, pushing the first man in the dirt and walking back inside. At that moment, the first man who had spoken stood and dusted himself off, pointing a shaky finger at Cookie once he caught sight of her, "Perfect."
