So when people adopt release pets offsite doesnt that decrease other peoples chances of getting rarer pets? Just curious because i assume they only put out a certain number of some pets.

How does one adopt "offsite" and why can't we do anything with the pet?

I believe you simply logout and adopt the pets as usual. It was how pets were adopted back in early 2008, before people could make accounts. I think it was left around as a way to let people sort of 'test out' CS before joining, but I'm not really sure.

They mean off-account, as in: you log out of your account and adopt a pet.
Those pets cannot be added to an account, so while you CAN adopt until you get a pet you like, and get a code to put it into your signature and everything, you will not be able to dress it up or trade it, or anything like that.
It's a nice method if you just really want to put a fancy pet in your sig/website somewhere, but you cannot "own" the pet in the sense of having it on your account.
