Ah, I see. The way you worded seemed like you meant newbies only. ^^'
Sorry for misunderstanding. ;n;

But yes, newbies to can get OMGSR's. Like I said though, it's random.

WASSAP wrote:Am I the only one a bit bummed that a number of popular PPS and EPPS pets were passed over just to turn a few non EPPS newborns into outcomes that simply matches its newborn stage design? It almost feels like some were done for the sake of adding another outcome to a litter that was already based on its newborn phase... I dunno. I just feel some could have been gupps of pets many wanted to grow up.

Don't take this as hatin. I do like the pets. And some I absolutely love! I just feel like its lost potential since we will all have to wait another year to see a chance at oldies growing up.

I know this was posted a few pages back, but I kinda wanna comment on this:
The grown-up newborns and GUPPS should be regarded as two entirely different categories.

GUPPS are a tradition that we've consistently been getting since 2009. We get them every year.
The grown-up newborns are part of a different tradition: every year we get a "throwback" kind of theme that somehow uses old designs in a way they haven't been used before.

The throwback pets aren't taking away from the GUPPS, because they're not a replacement. Both traditions have been going on parallel to each other since 2009.
The reason we're getting more presents containing different grown-up newborns has been cleared up earlier on the thread:
Pluma wrote:This is true. As described in the front page post, we have changed up a things a bit this year. Usually we got one huge batch you can adopt several times throughout December, but this year it was decided to sort the pets into smaller groups and then only have each pets released in a batch once :)

So it might seem to you like we are getting more throwback pets this year, but we're just getting them in smaller portions so they're not as much of a hassle to collect.

So when people adopt release pets offsite doesnt that decrease other peoples chances of getting rarer pets? Just curious because i assume they only put out a certain number of some pets.

    Nope ^^
The chances to get something valuable are based purely on probability, and have nothing to do with the number of x pets already adopted. If that were the case, then people who adopted earlier during the day would have better chances than people who got online later, and that would be very unfair ^^

That aside, off-account pets are also not factored into rarity IIRC.
The pets' rarities are calculated based on the number of them existing on active accounts (which is why rarity can fluctuate even without re-release), so what you adopt off-account won't make a difference for the overall rarity of any outcome.

No, they don't count in that way.

I asked this question a few pages back, they said it doesn't make a difference, however 2 users who adopted 1 at a time said they got bas pets, 1 said from then on they adopted all 3 and have gotten at least 1 UR in every batch since then. (:

Whether you adopt them one by one or all at once makes no difference.
The probability to receive x pet is always the same for each adopt, so it doesn't matter at all if you adopt them in a batch or alone.
It probably does add a bit of extra anticipation, though, because you get to hold your breath three times :'3

How does one adopt "offsite" and why can't we do anything with the pet?

i really wish to get one time PPS version of pets which never had 2nd stage as christmas gift ^^
for example joker... never had 2nd stage... or ur tiger... or tree moon dog (halloween dog)
2nd stage are very often less detailed because artist hide mainly details for adult stage... but there would be with all details...
i understand that they cant released old 2nd stage as new pps... but released new special PPS of old pets which never had 2nd stage ^^

PS: i hope that you understand me ^^'
