　　　It was almost midday, though not quite noon. The morning fog had just risen when the creature awoke. He emerged from the hole he claimed for last night, ready to continue wandering until he found something better. As a "creature of the law", or so he called himself, he disliked lacking a proper home. For all he knew, he could fail to find a new home one day and end up in the rain.
　　　He spent little time stretching before he was off, his massive tail trailing behind him along the ground. He walked a straight line, as if determined to go somewhere, despite having no clue where he was going.

She slipped through the bushes, nearing the spot she was heading towards. Then she saw it, a small flower. The rarest flower in the world, a flower that only bloomed on one day of the year.
She smiled, and stepped closer, glancing around to see if anyone else was near. To her disgust, she heard an animal moving closer.
