Well I am still unable to upload a picture on here...BUT I opened my christmas present from my boyfriend yesterday....and it was Spirit and Rain!! I knew about them of course, but I am still very excited to have them in my collection. If any of you have an instagram, you can find my breyer account on there! I will be posting pictures of them!

Did anyone else get horse related things for Christmas?

I got some oil paints c: I had bought a Breyer Shadowbox previously to repaint some of them but can't really bring myself to open them, they just look so nice in the box and most of them are really nice colours already ^^;

I do have a spare Schleich Pinto Yearling I could paint though, but have never painted a Breyer or Schleich before. Are they similar to paint, as in could I use Breyer painting reference guides for painting a Schleich? I know the Schleich are a little more textured while the Breyers are smoother so I'm not sure if that changes anything.

I'm also unsure what colours to try. These are the paint colours I have available. Would a Black Leopard Appaloosa be too challenging for a first try? Otherwise I could always try a dark bay as I think that'd be super fun to shade (a primary reason to use oils over acrylics, no?) Maybe that would be a better first project. I have to go get some linseed oil first but I already have turps so hopefully that's all I'll need to get started. Excited x3

I havent worked with schleich, but when working on customizing, sanding down rough edges will get you a smooth model, and some white primer paint as a first base coat, then you start to paint after that I believe. A black leopard is pretty easy, as long as you use references of how horse hair goes- and it's not just random dots everywhere. :)

i dont became these christmas breyer, but in the easter holidays i´d bought me the grullo pinto and the two 2014 chinese year of the horse horses. my first breyer was the black foundation stallion <3 http://identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/FoundS.htm. And last christmas i got 14 stablemates and the classic quarter horse and two really nice resins <3 how long you all collect?

Woo Hello! I haven't been on this thread in a while, sorry, how is everyone doing!!? I actually did not get any breyers for Christmas-perhaps my fault because I didn't make a Christmas List this year...

BUT I got a really expensive pair of boots that I didn't like...so last night my mom took me to the shoe store and we exchanged them for two different pairs of shoes that I really liked (I really needed new shoes ) After those were bought, the price of the new shoes were still under the price spent of the really expensive boots, so I asked my mom if I could spend the rest on horses, and she was like of course!

Anyway, I want to use that money and some of my other Christmas money to get Jesse and the Mustang Mare and foal SR from Tractor supply company...my question is do you guys think they will still have at least one of these models? I have two TSC near me, and literally all I want to do is go and see if they have these models, but since Christmas I keep having family or friend plans(which I don't mind because I love them!), but I really just want to see if they have them. And today I got my all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, so again, I will not be able to go for a couple of days or maybe more...ahhh the struggles of the model horse life, I tell yah. I want to go even if i'm in pain, but then I realized I can barely talk like this so it probably not be helpful to go out shopping where I would need to talk people

But yeah do you guys think Jesse and the Mustang set will still be there? Probably not since they were released a while ago, but i'm holding onto hope.
