So Oekaki had been working for me two days ago. But miraculously I get this:
res://ieframe.dll/acr_error.htm#chickensmoothie.com,http://www.chickensmoothie.com/Forum/painting.php?
drawing_id=2408298&f=32&derive=y&mode=edit
It6's not a black screen or a white. It just won't load. I also have the latest java update. Except I don't have windows 8 because my computer won't download it (believe me I tried so many times)
Help please
I am a holibomber!
I have gifted 3 people.
I have received 1 gifts.

I downloaded Java and tried to open Oekaki on Safari, but it kept giving me the "You need to install Java" message. I opened Java Control Panel, content was enabled in the browser, I closed out the window and restarted but nothing was working. I then downloaded Firefox to see if it was a browser issue, and sure enough, it gave me the "Allow Java to run" message and ran perfectly.
The problem is, I'd really rather use Safari as my primary browser, and I was wondering (now that I know that Java is running fine) if there's anything that I can do to get it running on Safari. I was wondering if I need to give it my permission to run, as I did on Firefox, but there was no pop-up.
Thanks in advance for any help!
The latest update of Java has been acting funky on Safari. I use a Mac and the same thing happens to me right now as you are describing. As far as I know there isn't much we can do to fix this at the moment but Firefox is working perfectly for me. Hopefully this will resolve when Java releases a new update.
Thanks for responding so quickly! Glad to hear that it isn't just me. By chance, is there any way to install the previous version of Java and, if I did, would it run on Safari?
I'm not sure if that's possible but if I were you I wouldn't attempt that. Java updates are really important to have because the reason Java is updated so frequently has to do with bugs and hacks that people find in the system. So, it isn't really safe to have out of date java on your computer.

I'm using firefox (the latest version, i think) and i have the newest update of Java. whenever i open oekaki, the little thing that says something like "give this site permission to run java?" pops up, but then everything freezes, i can't push allow or cancel, or anything, until another (firefox) pop up thing that says something along the lines of "plugin crashed, continue plugin or stop?" and then i can click stop plugin and the oekaki window opens and says that Java has crashed and offers to send a crash report. if i hit continue, my computer stays frozen until i restart it.
i've uninstalled and re-installed java, restart my browser, and cleared my browser cache, but nothing helped. :c
please help me ;-;
Has the freezing issue with the java update on firefox been fixed/addressed yet? I have a friend who can't use their oekaki and is having the same issue.

For me, I think I just got it working on Firefox. It seems like a strange solution, but I just disabled all of my Firefox Add-ons and it worked. I think some people are having other errors than mine, since mine was a "Warning, unresponsive script" issue. Some of there suggestions to fix that are
here. Hopefully that will help some users? :/
Though, hopefully the next java update will let me use some add-ons again
EDIT: Well, it worked for three days...same problems again. Dang

Its been this way for the past two java updates. Is it possible to go to the old ones?
try this site
Previous Java Versions <-it's through Java so it's a safe link.
Have you completely removed Java from your computer and Jtablet, then tried reinstalling it? Sometimes the run script gets tripped and it won't work right. I'll keep looking into this, but usually I've found, with Java even though they prompt you every way imaginable, if you've found a version that works, don't change it, that's the only way I have pen pressure in Internet Explorer.
