Roll says... 6: Get started.
Maybe you have time before Thimble's actually in trouble, but you'd rather get out of here as soon as possible. You lean over the windowsill, measuring the distance to the ground.
(wait)
You pause to look over at Lus, who's watching you. Though it sounds foreign coming out of your mouth, you make yourself say, "Thank you for your help."
(he always thanked them)
"Just make sure it doesn't come back to me," she says. "I'd rather not get chewed out by the Major."
You nod and turn again.
"Are you leaving in this weather?" she says, surprised.
"Better get started," you say, and jump out.
You don't bother counting the raindrops again. Honestly, you can barely feel them.
---
The rain makes it hard to see where you're going, and as you keep to the roofs, your progress is significantly slowed down so that you don't slip and fall off. Aside from that, you're safe - most cats are indoors, and those that aren't are huddled with their heads low. You're free to take more exposed paths. Maybe the rain isn't so bad after all.
It takes a long time before you can't resist taking shelter within a long-defunct ventilation fan. By then, you can't feel your toes, and you doubt you'll ever be dry again. You shake over and over, rub against the dusty steel blades, and try to lick some of it out while you consider your next move.
You're headed south, you know that, and you should be looking for hotels. You know that molly was telling the truth, so all you need to do is pinpoint where the nursery is. Getting in won't be too difficult (puny creature). Getting out, though...
The rain eventually lightens a little, and you set out again, moving as quickly as you dare. It takes another hour before you spot a few long buildings with a cluster of dots that you think are cats around them.
You climb onto the highest roof you can find and scope it out. There's four of them, all surrounded by guards. The first is a single story, in an L-shape. The second is two stories and, from here, you think it's been pretty beaten up. The third is a larger grey one which doesn't seem to have many exits. The fourth one is like the first, except larger and less guarded.
You look at the ground. There's a cat wandering around below, looking for something. Maybe he can help.
Try the first building.
