i've exhausted all my other resources and tried everything i can think of, so here we go.
I'm using firefox (the latest version, i think) and i have the newest update of Java. whenever i open oekaki, the little thing that says something like "give this site permission to run java?" pops up, but then everything freezes, i can't push allow or cancel, or anything, until another (firefox) pop up thing that says something along the lines of "plugin crashed, continue plugin or stop?" and then i can click stop plugin and the oekaki window opens and says that Java has crashed and offers to send a crash report. if i hit continue, my computer stays frozen until i restart it.
i've uninstalled and re-installed java, restart my browser, and cleared my browser cache, but nothing helped. :c
please help me ;-;

From the looks of it it appears that the latest version of Java is being really weird on macs. I have encountered a lot of users who can't use Oekaki at all on safari and can load it on Firefox but it freezes. Hopefully this will be resolved by the next Java update but for now I'm going to try and do some research on this to see if I can find any solution.

I am having the exact same issues as you two. (using Firefox, latest update to Java causes the plugin to crash and firefox freezes, causing me to completely end that task.) I believe it has to do with the update to java not interacting appropriately with oekaki, but I have no idea what to do about it. Any help would be appreciated, since I really enjoy using oekaki. Though I assume it will have to wait until the next java update

The same problem, firefox, PC. I updated Java to the last version, and there was a problems to load the file with the popup " give the permission to run java". Actually it worked after that, but It lost the pen presssure. I visited the J-tablet site (link on the main page) to check if the pressure works, and when I opened window where you could check it- it says that Java blocked it. That is very sad, I have no idea what to do, I need my pen pressure back ):

Hello! I just got a Mac and I've encountered an issue with running Java, so I figured this was the place to ask for help. ^^
I downloaded Java and tried to open Oekaki on Safari, but it kept giving me the "You need to install Java" message. I opened Java Control Panel, content was enabled in the browser, I closed out the window and restarted but nothing was working. I then downloaded Firefox to see if it was a browser issue, and sure enough, it gave me the "Allow Java to run" message and ran perfectly.
The problem is, I'd really rather use Safari as my primary browser, and I was wondering (now that I know that Java is running fine) if there's anything that I can do to get it running on Safari. I was wondering if I need to give it my permission to run, as I did on Firefox, but there was no pop-up.
Thanks in advance for any help!

The latest update of Java has been acting funky on Safari. I use a Mac and the same thing happens to me right now as you are describing. As far as I know there isn't much we can do to fix this at the moment but Firefox is working perfectly for me. Hopefully this will resolve when Java releases a new update.

Thanks for responding so quickly! Glad to hear that it isn't just me. By chance, is there any way to install the previous version of Java and, if I did, would it run on Safari?
