|| Chelsea Kairen || 21 || Female || Shapeshifter || Location; at hotel || Tagged; everyone ||

Just as she was about to turn around and continue to the hotel a familiar scent hit the roof of her mouth as she breathed in. Shapeshifter. But how? I-I'm the last. Aren't I? She knew the scent without a doubt and knew that she wasn't mistaken but she also knew that she was the last, after her parents had died she knew, they had said that they were the last family. So how could this be possible. Just as the thought hit her she spotted a group of four people, lingering at the tree line. Each of them smelling like herself or one of her new friends. Her eyes locked on the girl who smelled like her, from the distance between them she could see the girl was holding back, eager to rush forwards but nervous, something wasn't right. "Something is off guys I think we should-" She stopped when she spotted the other female rushing forward from the tree line.

She readied her stance, sensing that the female's intentions were not good as the female approached she tensed and then startled slightly as Harley moved in front of her muttering a warning to the female who smelled an awful lot like the vampire. He was protecting her, why? She let her voice be known and was not happy, "You know, Harl. I can look after myself, I'm not scared of her." Her voice was a lot harsher than she meant it to be but she continued, venom weaving itself into her words, "I think I can take on one pathetic little bloodsucker" She knew that the insult would rile both Harley and the girl but she had come to trust the male. He had protected her rather than helping his own kind. She figured that the other four must have been tasked to hunt them, judging by the females quick onslaught of fury. To make her point that she could fend for herself she moved to stand beside Harley, tensed and ready for a fight.

Her attention briefly turned to Jackson and Ariawyn who stood behind them now. They weren't as fight ready or strong as her and Harley, sure if Jackson's Hyde made and appearance then he could fight but she could see from the look on Jack's face that he was trying to stop that from happening. The one time a Hyde might come in useful and the Jekyll was holding him back. Ariawyn was another matter, she seemed nervous, scared, she wasn't ready for a fight. If it came to it then Chelsea would do her best to ensure that the young girl made it out of there safely, Jackson as well, the two of them could run while she and Harley held off the attack. Despite her thoughts she doubted that they would be too happy with running and not helping their new friends. It was a difficult situation, let them stay, fight and possibly get seriously hurt, or tell them to run and face their annoyance and refusal. She decided not to bring it up and refocused her attention on the four new beings that lingered nearby, waiting for the next move.

    esmeree reidain
the werewolf agent || location; hotel || tagged; everybody - particularly Jackson

    ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

Esmeree eyed the scene before her, making snap judgments of each individual that stood before that hotel. Naturally, her eyes would constantly find their way back to Harley, but she'd already came in contact with him before. She labeled him as a large threat, but hardly regarded his body language that could cue her in on anything deeper than such. Next she locked her gaze down on that other shifter, immediately sizing her up. Had she not known personally, she would've figured the other shifter wasn't too threatening based upon appearance. However, a shifter could be scrawny yet still pack a punch. It's not like Esmeree had muscles bulging out underneath her skin. For the shapeshifter, what Rei needed to be concerned with was her stamina, gut, and control, maybe a little bit of strength. The wolf had plenty of control over her feral form merely due to hours of practice to catch her up to speed, but she didn't know what to expect from the other. Her only current goal was to ensure that she was better, for the sake of her ego and such. Eventually her eyes landed on Jackson, who, given that the Four had already started to sense the agents' presences, was actually very calm. Eerily still, in fact. Like a lion tamer snapping his whip to keep control of an entire hungry pride; tense, but unable to release in order to not let down a guard. His spine was rigid, his figure still. But what he lacked was intimidation. He looked like an easy target to her, having been so frozen in one position. Rei nearly dubbed him as her target just because he looked so vulnerable and unprepared, but part of her was uncertain if challenging him in such a rigid state was a smart idea. Who knew how strong the beast inside of him was? And lastly, there was Ariawyn, who appeared to be far too shy to seem threatening. Of course, a scared animal was always the quickest to bite, but was also the quickest to flee. All depended on how the situation went. Rei figured that it wouldn't be beneficial for her to try and take on the witch at this point - not when Harley was this close.

Seeing how the Four were already starting to get tense and agitated, Rei realized that there was no turning back now. She tore her eyes away to look to Saidi, figuring the woman would have some sort of plan, only to find that she looked more ready to go than the wolf did. Her eyes were ablaze, glowing strong enough to probably guide them through the darkness had there been a need for such. She was poised, to a point where Rei wasn't actually sure if she should've tried to snap the woman out of it or not. It didn't take long for Rei to decide that she wasn't going to. Instead, she wanted to encourage it. What stood near her was not a well-trained agent looking to do her job, it was a fearsome hunter with an instinctive drive to kill. The sight of Saidi like this only brought a grin to Rei's lips. Yes, Saidi, this is what it was like. Was this the speedster's first time dealing with this strong of a drive for violence? Would she know how to control it? Not that Rei could criticize; she was pretty new to this whole ordeal, too, and she wasn't necessarily doing too great of a job at handling her own instincts, either. For Rei, she was feeling incredibly excited. Adrenaline brought life to her movements, so much that she was finding trouble standing still. She was eager to sink her teeth into something, and perhaps resembled a dog on a heavy chain lunging at a bystander, teeth bared and snarls erupting from its chest. Saidi, on the other hand, looked to be what could be described as one of nature's most skillful predators; the infamous panther, cloaked by night with searing eyes locked down on its prey, creeping forward through the brush one slow step at a time, but ready to kill at any moment. How could the wolf ever try to shut that down? Even if she wanted to, she probably couldn't. But Rei didn't want to. In fact, she was sincerely enjoying this already. Maybe now the two could understand each other - at least a little bit.

Before she could refocus her attention on the targets, the 'panther' uttered the wolf's name. It was quiet, but Rei's keen ears snagged it from the air without trouble. Her eyes landed back on Saidi for only a brief moment. She didn't even get to ask what the woman wanted before said woman took off. She was gone within a blink's time. There was no stopping her now. Instantly, Rei knew it was time. There was no backing down at this point. It wasn't like Saidi to be so impulsive, but Esmeree would happily bask in it. She wasn't sure what her name had been spoken for, but she opted to register it as the cue that had been briefly discussed prior to their arrival. Was Rei supposed to be backup? Sidekick? Partner in crime? Whatever, there was no time to contemplate such useless things. Action was unfolding before her, and there was no way she wouldn't be right in the center of it.

Peeling the bag off of her back, she hung it on a nearby tree branch for safekeeping. During that time was when Cole had muttered something, some kind of complaint. Rolling her shoulders to loosen them up, she gave a short reply of, "suck it up, Cole", before taking a couple of sprinting steps out of the forest for the sake of space. One, two, three... and then her spine suddenly jarred in on itself, as though someone had planted a heavy boot between her shoulder blades. It looked like she was falling, when, in reality, that wasn't it at all. Her limbs came out in front of her with the intention to catch herself, but what hit the ground were not hands. Instead, they were large, black-furred paws. Her legs seemed to understand that they now belonged underneath her belly, and her back obliged by leveling itself out. Thick, dark fur had since sprouted from her pores, and her tailbone had stretched out to form something legitimate. Behind her, shreds of clothing created a subtle trail, never to be of use to her again. When the shift was complete, she slowed herself from a run to a jog, and then to a walk as every piece inside found its rightful place. Despite being a quadruped creature, the wolf didn't stand any shorter than she had previously. The wolf was enormous in comparison to that of what should've roamed the forest, her shoulder being over twice the size of the average, her weight showing similar changes. Her head was practically level with what it had been before the shift, only now if she stood on her hind legs, she would cast quite the immense shadow. Within moments, the ringing in her ears faded into silence, and her golden eyes proved just how much sharper vision the canine had in comparison to that of a human. She gave her head and neck a few hard shakes to loosen up any of the fur that needed to settle, such movements traveling down the length of her body in reaction to do the same. Opening her jaws, Rei tested out its feel by snapping it a few times, letting the muscles get familiar with the new movements they must endure. Truly, there was an amazing feeling that came with being in this form. It was a feeling of invincibility, as though there was nothing to stop her. Every step she took felt like it connected with a world that was rightfully hers, and such pride radiated off of her as she raised her head high. Her lips peeled back into a snarl which preceded a number of challenging and threatening roars that she let echo throughout the town as she made her approach.

Distract Harley. That was the goal. She could see he'd hindered Saidi's progress, but Rei knew that Harley was not who she was after. She wouldn't be so vicious had she been trying to go after the vamp. But he stood in her way, and Rei would hate for the speedster to be unable to fulfill her instinctive impulses. But there was also Jackson, who she feared might be the biggest threat to the team overall. All she would have to do with Harley was get his attention on her for a moment, and if Saidi chose to, she could then swerve around him. If she'd rather take Harley on, so be it - Rei opted to refrain from charging the pure-blood vamp in fear she would get confused with the similar scents and accidentally attack Saidi. All she needed was the vampire's temporary attention, which would hopefully be granted to her due to the approach, and from there the next move with him would be decided. For now, her primary focus was currently on the guy known as Jekyll and Hyde. He had a whole ton of potential, but he'd seemed to have been holding back. Unfortunately, it was much easier to fight an angry creature rather than a frightened one. An angry one wanted to kill, a frightened one wanted to survive, and the latter of those drives was almost always stronger. While Jackson hadn't looked terrified, she wasn't sure what to do with him. And then there was the little witch, who, come to think of it, could cause issues. Could Mort hold her off if she turned into a threat? The two possessed powers that could do a ton of damage if used properly, but it was difficult to know what the girl would do, and it was just as difficult to know if Mort could control it. Despite everything she had against herself, Rei was not interested in being ignited. And Cole, where was he at? Even though the wolf had every desire to maul the vampire, Saidi was too close to him, and she didn't trust herself enough. That other shifter, however, had seemingly reacted poorly to Harley's movements, causing Rei to question whether or not she should act. For now, she would refrain. It's not like she wasn't two steps away, and if Harley opted to make a lunge for the wolf out of his own impulses, she was more than ready for him.

For the time being, however, she brought herself to a halt before Jackson. Unless Cole came up to take her place, she would do what she could to hold him off. How was the guy reacting to Cole, anyway? If something inside of him gave him any kind of urge to attack Cole, such an instinct could prove to be dangerous for the agent. She wasn't quite sure what the guy would do with Cole, really. Reflecting back to her short analogy before, it wasn't uncommon for the male lions to battle it out to prove themselves stronger. Would such carry over to Jackson and Cole? If so, she didn't want to get in the way of that. Nor did she want Cole to get the crap beaten out of him, especially if he wasn't pumped for this. Truly, it was difficult to determine what to do.

Releasing another deep, gargling snarl, Esmeree took two steps closer to the one she angled herself towards. The fur layered upon her back was bristled up, standing as high on end as could be attained. She kept her gaze pinned down on him, eventually beginning to move as though to circle, but instead with the intention to place herself as a blockade between Jackson and Saidi's little situation. If Saidi had to deal with both the shifter and the vamp, then she would definitely need reinforcements, but the two guys were around if Rei couldn't get to her. And if Cole wanted to switch, she'd tag him in without arguing whatsoever. Having Jackson get involved with that trio would probably be detrimental if it was Hyde who claimed to be Jackson, hence why she hoped to keep him out of it, even if it meant turning her back on the vampire. She kept herself aimed towards him, poised in a defensive stance, doing everything she could to forget what fear felt like just in case he, forgiving the cliche, could smell it. Yes, the wolf was a bit afraid of the Hyde that lurked within Jackson, but there was nothing like a little bit of fear to get the blood boiling, right? And besides, she was more afraid of returning to Headquarters than she was Hyde, so it wasn't like it was a big deal.

Saidi seemed a bit startled when a body blocked the target she was after, the speedster back peddling and furrowing her eyebrows, eyes narrowing slowly. She swallowed thickly, responding to his protective stance with a scoff and another hiss. Angry, she watched the vampire steadily. The scene around her seemed to still, and she could hardly hear the movement of the other agents behind her. Harley’s question caused her to give a soft chuckle, hoarse and raw from the back of her throat.

”Please, it would be in your best interest to step away.” All thoughts of their mission, to kill them, capture them, was gone. The only thing she wanted was the shapeshifter, watching the woman from over the other vampire’s shoulder. ”Harley.” That was his name, wasn’t it? Harley? She had to work off assumption, and hoped she was correct, to save her pride. ”Please.” Her voice was more akin to a whine than it was anything else, red eyes widening slowly, her posture rigid. Saidi rolled her shoulders backwards, them cracking with a gentle pop.

Al-Hasheem couldn’t focus her eyes to look at one place, flicking from Jackson, to Harley, and the shifter, Chelsea. Her bloodlust was slowly fading, and her judgement steadily returning to her still numb mind. She held up a hand, showing him that it was empty, before grinning and resting it on the vampire’s shoulder. ”She either dies at your hands, or mine. I suppose I should leave that decision up to you, yes?” She found her courage once more, teeth bared for him to see. ”You should chose wisely, really… Because in this array, you only have one choice: the right one.” Saidi shifted her weight a bit, casting a quick glance to Rei over her shoulder before back to the vampire.

She suddenly tensed, her muscles coiling. She could feel the beating of the shape shifter’s heart, the rush of her blood as her adrenaline picked up. Saidi’s smile faded, and her head tilted slightly. Screw orders, she decided. Her hand dropped from Harley’s shoulder, and she took yet another step back. ”You’re a trueborn idiot, if you are so intent on protecting her. When the tables turn, will she do the same for you?” Saidi pressed in question, raising an eyebrow and tilting her chin up some. Confidence.

”You step aside, and let me deal with her… and that will be the end. I will leave. Gods know you want her dead just as much as I…” Saidi let her voice wander, her fists curling and uncurling steadily by her side, ready to attack if it needed to resort to that action. Ready to kill. No, she didn’t want Harley dead. She hadn’t come into the mission wanting him dead, and she wouldn’t leave it that way either. Saidi wanted answers for herself. Her instincts, her reflexes. Quick, too to the point that no mortal or otherwise could keep up with her. Saidi always worked a step ahead, her movements always far too fast for those around her.

And the lust, the instincts so gracefullly handed to her from the vampire that seperated her from her prey. She held the desire to hunt, but had no need to drink. A blessing, perhaps. More so, a lesser of two evils that she could have endured. Her genes - the vampire DNA rushing through her body, had been gracious to her.

Her eyes returned to Harley’s own red ones. Saidi’s expression softened ever so slowly, into something like a smile. Tight and grim, but a smile nonetheless. ”Harley, mm…” She sighed, her posture slumping a bit when her hip popped to the side, resting weight on her left leg. She seemed to be far too relaxed for someone who had been confronted by the most widely feared immortal in Europe. Again, a grace of the blood she shared with him. Surely he could sympathise with the desire, the subtle burn in the back ofher throat, the hiss at the back of her mind begging her to kill.

harley
the vampire . pansexual . location;; hotel . tag{s};; all
─────────────────────────────────

harley kept up his tensed, strict stance. he continued to bare his teeth at his enemy threateningly, trying to not let his shock distract him. there truly was no way in the world that this... other "vampire" was completely real. it legitimately wasn't possible! he'd known from a young age that he was the last of his species. he'd been adapting to this for years; in fact, he'd dedicated his entire life to educating himself on being alone. he was raised by a lovely mother and father, also both pure-blooded vampires. things were normal for him, until the fateful day the hunters came. they had discovered the location of the vampires' hideout, barging in wielding flaming weapons of unknown technology. his parents insisted that he run and hide. harley didn't know what more to do, so he quickly fled the scene. when he returned to his home, everyone was dead. everyone. he saw his own parents' bodies, left in the dirt to decay without sentiment. his heart had been turned stone cold on that day, and it had become far more difficult to love or appreciate another's company. he had trust issues too, especially knowing there was no one else like him anymore. but there, directly in front of him, stood someone real. a person of his species, live and in person. but... as he got a good whiff of her up close, he realized that she had a peculiar falseness about her. it was like her vampire blood wasn't entirely hers. in fact, it smelled an awful lot like his own. there was another scent hidden beneath the false one; it belonged to that of a human. his crimson gaze bore into saidi's, trying to understand. were all of the others with her the same way? somehow injected with the blood of a supernatural being? if so, then why the hell were they after the four? it made no sense. it felt evil. harley certainly didn't like it.

the vamp chose to ignore chelsea's comment, her harshness burying itself into his pale skin. her insults pierced his skin like glass, but he refused to let it damage him. he knew she didn't need his help, but he would do it anyway. he felt a strange sense of dutifulness; he needed to help protect these people from whatever stood before him. harley's gaze flitted towards the other woman in the new group, who'd just rather unexpectedly transformed into a wolf. this only managed to make him tense up more, getting confused and only the slightest bit frightened. all of this, and suddenly, the female vampire before him stated his name. it was ginger, but also laced with ferocity. how did she know his name? harley glowered at saidi, arching his eyebrows in mild confusion. she was all over the place. first she was angry, then she was mutual, and all of a sudden she was angry again.

"shut up! just, shut up!" he hollered at the female who stood in front of him, clenching his fists and shaking his head. how did she know his name? how was she there? none of it made sense. none of it was logical. "how are you here? how do you exist?" he ranted methodically, wanting to pace around fretfully but knowing it would look horribly weak. before he was even permitted the chance to keep going with his rant, a hand was firmly placed on his shoulder. it was saidi's. she spoke to him far too calmly for her subject matter, making him uncomfortable. his fighting stance was near-to-gone; he'd completely forgotten he was trying to protect someone. instead, his focus was drawn to whatever had its hand on his shoulder.

"you're not going to hurt her, and neither will i," he stated firmly, regaining a bit more composure. he needed to focus if he wanted to win this battle, but it was beginning to feel more like a mental battle than a physical one. the words she spoke to him were like smooth-talk; she was trying to convince him to side with her. and, he had to admit, it was awfully tempting. he was hungry, and a shapeshifter was a viable prey, standing just behind him. he could turn on her anytime he chose, and the two vampires could take her down. but he couldn't. that wouldn't be right. it was too cruel. he bared his fangs right back at saidi, refusing to give in and permit any weakness to show. he was strong, tall, and muscular. he only stood taller when she asked of him to step aside; naturally, he refused. he shook his head at the idea of wanting her dead, despite the fact that idea still banged on his instinctive brain. killing was only natural for his species, after all.

once again, the vamp was suddenly startled. saidi's calmness and and smile made his heart skip a few beats. it was unreal how calm she was. he glared at her, furious. whenever she said his name, it sounded too comfortable. she was too confident. too cocky. hopefully, that weakness could be a pro for him in the end.

JACKSON
✣ jack | jekyll n' hyde | 21 | town |tagged: lol everybody ✣
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Now you get it... so....... LET ME OUT JACKSON!!! The rage in that last scream had the boy gritting his teeth and it didn't take killer instincts to catch almost every movement from these strangers. His eyes shifted angrily to all of them in a way that the Jekyll side of him could be angry. He was able to put together what had happened with his little counterpart over there. There was no mistaking it. That man had his blood. Not just Jekyll and Hyde blood but his blood. The same Hyde that coursed through Jackson's every vein was in that stranger's bloodstream too. Under normal circumstances, Jackson would have thought it impossible had he not been caught only months ago. The boy had been out for a straight week and when he came to, he was being treated like a mental patient. Somebody could have easily gotten a hold of a blood sample. Every little piece of this flashed through his mind logically, mapping out all the different ways that person with his strength could exist. This was what his brain was meant for after all, pulling any and all statistical evidence to form and meticulously piece together hypothesis and solutions. And he could do this all in seconds or less, his mind working for him effortlessly. But when he had the set conclusion in his head, there was a look of pure shock the longer he stared at that mock imitation of himself. There was only a few things he believed would happen if his blood was mixed with a human's and not a single result turned out favorable.

He has our blood. Why the hell does he have our blood? Who was stupid enough to do something like this? I DON'T UNDERSTAND! The pounding in his own head stopped all at once and Jackson was taken aback, even so much as stumbling when he felt the tension release. His knee hitched forward and the sensation could have been compared to setting down a very heavy weight after holding it for an hour. Jackson... let me out. You know why they did this. You just can't handle the fact that somebody would actively create another monster such as I to kill the said monster. But if you don't realize that the world is full of monsters already, we're going to die. And I will not let that happen to me. The voice in his head was beyond angry, but the restraint it held was enough to make Jackson curl his fists with a frown. Outside of his head, Hyde had apparently been right and he watched as one of the two girls began to act strangely. She was changing and the result of that change only strengthened Jackson's hypothesis. All four of these strangers had their blood. Somehow, his new 'friends' were facing off with blurry images of themselves - more or less. Because instead of the Hyde blooded imitation facing him, the previously mentioned girl had moved just in front of Jackson. Nobody needed to be an expert to label her and he tilted his head quizzically as the little word flashed through his mind. Werewolf.

Rei stood at eye level with Jackson, fur and gaze just as intimidating as the fangs and claws. And the longer he found himself locking eyes with her, the angrier and more resentful he became. This was too much. He'd been hunted with guns, police forces, scientists. He'd been called a monster - and rightly so - and he'd never once had a place to call home. The world had been against Jackson Hayes since the day he was born with two faces. But that had been something he could understand completely. Humanity had a right to hate the evil he carried. They had every justification to want him gone. But there was no excuse for creating monsters from his own blood to finish the job. He grit his teeth and cracked his knuckles. "Isn't this hilarious everybody? Tell me Lassie," his words were eerily calm despite the anger rising as he looked at Rei, "Wouldn't you say it's ironic that you get to live even though the ones you're assigned to kill gave you the blood to kill us in the first place? At this point I'm not sure who should be thanking who. I mean, obviously that boy there is welcome to my blood if it means it'll protect him from what I'm about to do. But it's a shame to wonder what's going on in his head. You'd have nightmares if you knew what went on in mine..." He was slowly fading as he felt a familiar anger replace him as subtle as water dripping from a faucet. His eyes were getting darker and the last little shreds of Jekyll's personality hung on by threads as he continued, "Does it make you feel powerful or heroic knowing that you get to kill me or any of us? Because we're monsters right? Our only desire in life is to give humanity hell. But as a two-faced let down of a man, let me be the first to say: welcome. to. the. club."

His eyes were saddened and he flicked one more watch to his counterpart before letting out a brief sigh. Remember our deal Hyde. Looks like they really want us dead this time. The sullen defeat in Jackson's eyes all but vanished in one second to be replaced by a hungry look. Those dark eyes were shadowed with manic insanity and the smile twisted his features into something unrecognizable. It was still Jackson, but not as anybody knew him. "Jesus. And I thought that moron would never let me out. Can you believe him?" He began to laugh, his whole body shaking with amusement. He had to blink a couple times as his eyes adjusted, angered by the fact that everything remained blurry. Damn Jekyll, what did you do to our eyes? Glasses. Hyde. You're hopeless. Raising his hand slowly, the man cocked a brow and pulled the lenses off his eyes. Instantly, everything around him snapped into a crystal clear image and he chuckled before tucking the things in his hoodie pockets. He'd never hear the end of it if the glasses broke unfortunately. Everything was done painfully slow as if Jackson hadn't a care in the world. And that might have been due to the fact that he hadn't.

The man rolled his shoulders and neck, basking in the reinvigorating strength that came with being him and when he looked back up at last, he scowled at the overgrown Pomeranian in front of him. "Boy, somebody beat you with the ugly stick. Sorry mate." He was intensely getting angrier the longer he had to look at any of these people. His scowl turned into more of a sneer and then he was smiling again. A deep twisted smile that shouldn't belong to that face. Then without any warning, or even a hint that he was about to attack, Jackson cleared the distance between himself and the werewolf within a single step. He was an incredibly fast when he felt like it and so far, nobody had demonstrated to be faster except for Speedy Gonzales: the vampire years, over there. This Hyde personality knew that Jekyll would love to go on some convoluted rant on how speed generates power but for his purposes he would keep it simple. His punch was bone breaking. At least, it would have killed any normal human. Obviously this drastically confusing cross between a dog and girl wasn't really a human so he had no idea how hard he'd have to hit to kill it. Hyde cackled as he threw all the concrete smashing, iron denting, force he could into his one little punch, "You're in my way Fido." His words came out harsh and raspy as his eyes dripped venomously in the direction of Cole. So that guy had his blood? It was going to be fun ripping these ignorant childrens' heads off their just as crooked necks.

Mortimer Abernathy

Location: Town Age: 23 ElementalTags: Jackson

Mortimer now had his eyes on the four in front of them. Mortimer's stomach twisted in a knot of nervousness but he wouldn't let it show. His hands seemed to grow hotter to the point where he was forced to take them out. Not yet...Not yet... He could hear his leader speaking to the other vampire and he could see Rei ready to attack. Cole however he wasn't sure what Cole was doing. Morty's eyes fell on the witch in particular. She seemed to innocent to kill. That she hadn't done any harm. But I don't know that for sure...Looks can be deceiving.. The vampire seemed protective of the shifter and frankly Mortimer did not want to get in a fight with both of them. He wasn't strong like Cole nor did he have the abilities Rei and Saidi possessed. His hands seemed to grow hotter the more he grow nervous by just waiting. He hadn't been anticipating killing the four. The longer the they took talking to their targets the harder it was to control himself. Mortimer watched Jackson now as he suddenly pulled out a pair of glasses. Jackson's whole demeanor seemed to have switched. Which only confirmed that Jackson had now turned into Hyde. Mortimer felt a something in his stomach drop the moment Jackson began to approach Cole. With the feeling he now felt his hand burst into a strong flame. His eyes, however he did not feel angry, turned completely black. Mortimer's heart was racing as panic began to take over him. Taking a step back he launches the fire from his hand in the direction of the mad man walking towards them. The chances of a fight from not happening were long gone. Now the real fight had begun. Mortimer's eyes stayed locked on Jackson. His father's word and everything he stood for were now long gone. Mortimer in the back of his mind had convinced himself that this was now going to be game of survival. Either they die or he does. He didn't think about how the flames he would conjure would be put out but that didn't matter at the moment. The fight at hand was now his main priority. Besides...He was following orders... Wasn't he?

Re: The Four

|| Chelsea Kairen || 21 || Female || Shapeshifter || Location; at hotel || Tagged; everyone ||

Chelsea let out an audible snarl at the threat the woman vampire made to Harley and a deep growl rumbled within her chest when the woman said that either she or Harley would have to kill her. I'd love to see her try it, there are so many ways I could kill her, it would be so easy. Despite these thoughts running through her head she knew that it was in her best interest to not get into a fight with a vamp, they could both do some serious damage to each. At the vamps touch on Harley's shoulder she tensed even more, what if Harley chose to join his kin. She startled slightly when Harley snapped back at the woman, he too seem confused about the origin of the four new arrivals and she was more than slightly relieved that he said that he wouldn't hurt her, she trusted him, for whatever reason. The females words did confuse Chelsea, what did she mean by trueborn? Then as she breathed in she detected a human stench under that of vampire, under all four of the newcomers scents, what had happened to create these four.

At the sight of fur rushing past her she whipped around to see a large dark coloured wolf pacing around them, eyes locked on Jackson. The shapeshifter. A deep anger rose within her, who was this girl to pretend to be like her, they were all pretenders, not true creatures like her and the others. When she came out of her angry thoughts she could hear Jackson speaking to the wolf, taunting her and poking fun, she could see the darkness entering his eyes, she was about to meet Hyde. Jackson's words dug deep, they were all monsters but she had come to accept that long ago, she wondered if these new monsters had done the same. In the back of her head she could feel a niggling sensation, the shift was coming on. When she looked back she could see Hyde at last, making fun of Jackson, calling him a moron of all things. She didn't even know if she could call him by the name of Jackson anymore. She watched as Hyde knocked away the wolf with a sort of dismissiveness, and she followed his gaze to the man who bore his scent, He mustn't be too happy about that. She thought. Then she gave in.

In the place of Chelsea there now stood a larger than normal silvery white snow leopard with dark black spots and piercing amber-red eyes. She stood slightly smaller than the werewolf but she was faster and smarter. She let out an angry snarl, she hadn't realized it but man was she spoiling for a fight. Who did they think they were, attacking them like they had. She had almost forgotten about the two vampires who stood nearby, she came up to almost their chests, and she could hardly care that they were there. No. All she cared about was the girl who had stolen her blood. She bounded over effortlessly. Her white coat spiked up, gaining an orange sheen in the light of the sun that was beginning to set and had just managed to peak out from behind the storm clouds which now covered much of the sky. It seemed as though the heavens were about to open up on them. She growled loudly at the female who she now stood next to, ready to attack the female whom Jackson or Hyde, whoever, had just attempted to strike. She was ready to fight and there was no way that she was holding back.

She took special notice to the affect she had on him when she said his name, a slow smile creeping onto her bleak expression. Her hand shot up, raised, palm up when he had yelled. Her ears rang, but she didn’t dare let anything distract her. Saidi cast a sideways glance to him, laughing gently. Her laugh sounded genuine, kind, even. “I exist because of your graciousness. And, I suppose I should take my time to formally thank you.” was that affection in her tone? Absolutely. The bow she gave next was DEFINITELY staged, her mixing a courtesy and a bow at the waist, straightening to look at the vampire with a gentle smile. Her posture returned, and she gave a soft sigh.

“Please, let us not overcomplicate things. They’re already quite stressful enough, do you not agree?” Al-Hasheem asked him, raising an eyebrow. She would shatter his resolve, place a few well practised hits into it, cracking him and making him break to her orders. And harsh it may sound, she did that with everyone she knew. Attempted to, really, but most of the time, succeeded.

“I think we both can stand to acknowledge… That there’s something wrong. You, taking sides with a shape shifter, and I one of her kin? How grievous.” She snorted, shaking her head. Saidi didn’t much respond when Chelsea slunk off to meet up with Rei, her sighing reluctantly, letting her eyes wander back to her blood donor. “I say we stand against this madness.” A simple shrug to get her point across would suffice. Saidi also offered him another grin, something that would be seen as reassuring if it wasn’t for the fangs that showed, peeking from her lips.

It was easier to talk to Harley now that the shape shifter, Chelsea, had gone. Her hostile nature seemed to fall away as the scent of the shifter’s blood left her system, the earlier bloodlust replaced with a more concscience state of mind.

It used to come as a shock to her, back when she was still growing used to the transition from normal human to suddenly earning half of the vampire’s blood. Saidi remembered her frustration clearly, how hard she had struggled to grasp onto the simple idea as to what was going on. Her body had tried to reject the vampire genes, and she was sick for months before it finally passed out through her system.

Saidi’s body moulded and reshaped around the foreign genes, decoding them carefully and applying them to her. Proteins shifted, reshaped, and changed to fit the characteristics that she would hold with the new DNA: red eyes, pointed teeth, a certain bloodlust, instincts, and of course, her most notable feature- speed.

Saidi was quick in everything she did. Almost like she didn’t have TIME for anyone else- Never letting herself slow down and let them catch up to her. Her walk was more a run, her run, well… She had quick, on time reflexes. Her senses were keen as ever- especially her sight and hearing. (Another thing she could thank her blood donor for.)

“I am Saidi.” Most people, reading her name off a page, prounced it like the English name ‘Sadie”. However, Al-Hasheem’s name had NO English roots, and she annunciated the name carefully to the vampire. Suh-die, is how it sounded when spoken from her, quick just like the rest of her was. Her accent was almost unidentifiable, but if anyone asked her she gladly told them the country she hailed from, with much pride. “Saidi Al-Hasheem.” A twirl of her hand, and another smile. Gods, was she ever good at this game. Piss of the enemy, or make him realise his faults and have him want to join you. Flawless.

    esmeree reidain
the werewolf agent || location; hotel || tagged; Jackson and Chelsea

    ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

Standing face-to-face with Jackson Hayes, Esmeree allowed herself to remain still, a gentle idle growl creeping out in steady exhalations. She kept her eyes pinned down on his, neither of them wavering for a blink's worth of time. At this point, Rei didn't even know what to do with him. He was awfully rigid. It was unnerving just how composed he was. She'd hoped for a more satisfying reaction, but apparently she wasn't getting one from him. If anything, he looked vaguely pissed, like she'd interrupted an important phone call or cut him off in traffic when he was already having a bad day. But not intimidated. Not in the slightest. She almost allowed herself to take it personally, but then remembered that, if all went accordingly, he'd be dead, anyway. No need to be insulted by a dead man.

He began to speak. His tone was nearly conversational, just a little too cynical to be mistaken for pleasant intentions. His word choice didn't bring any doubts to her mind about that, especially since he called her Lassie, of all things. Who did he think he was talking to? What a little arrogant brat. But it's not like the wolf could give a verbal reply; she lacked the necessary components to speak in any kind of tongue a human could understand. And she hadn't exactly been blessed with telepathy. But, with how the conversation was starting, Rei found herself actually glad she had an excuse to not reply. First it seemed to be alright. She kept a fairly straight face, but had since quieted down to listen. Yes, it certainly was ironic - he was absolutely right. Did he really think she hadn't thought through this before? The wolf had had plenty of time to lie awake at night when the full moon hindered her desired rest. And it was always around two in the morning when she found her mind opening the gates to uninvited topics such as what Jackson presented her. Yes, it certainly was a twisted concept that the scientists had employed, but she'd foolishly agreed to it, anyway. It was too late to go back. Not that she didn't regret it.

However, it was after Jekyll's little pause that her entire composure was altered. His was, too, but it was more on a physical level that he wasn't trying to hide. She, on the other hand, couldn't bring herself to continue the stern eye contact that had once been established. First it was her eyes that moved away, but as her brows fell in guilt and an unusual look of compunction overtook her expression, she found it easier to just turn her entire head to avoid looking at him as much as she could. He'd really hit that nail on the head, so hard that it hadn't just gone into the wood, but had rather split the entire plank in two. An unwelcome feeling of shame infected her mind, causing her previous aggression to cease. It's not like she was proud of what she'd turned into. Compared to the others, it was as though she most closely resembled the 'mistake' of the bunch. Unless they'd purposely turned her from an easygoing, life-loving individual to one that couldn't even control her own emotions. Her gut told her what to do now, not her mind. If her gut told her to shred somebody into five different pieces, well, that was going to happen whether she feared the consequences or not. It's not like she enjoyed killing, but the beast she'd been given certainly did. If that's what they'd been shooting for, then good for them; they'd done an excellent job. In this case, she was just following orders, and doing what she'd been designed to do. She had nothing against any of these Four, not even Harley. She'd gone through all of the crap just for them. Sacrificed her future and well-being just to be able to potentially face them down. Allowed herself to be turned into a beast for the sake of eliminating four creatures that really were probably safer for the world than she was. But what was it about Jackson's words that made it hurt so much? She'd told herself far worse, but hearing it from someone she hadn't even spoken to yet made the ache feel like more like an unkind knife prodding at her heart. No, no, do not welcome her to the club. She didn't want to be a part of that club. Just hearing the word 'monster' made her want to go bother the vampire instead. Her ears slicked back, tongue darting between her lips before she involuntarily released a partially audible sigh. Jekyll really was an intelligent one, wasn't he? Had he known what to say just to cut her down? Or had that just spilled out of his mouth impulsively? Not to mention that he'd really seemed to have figured out her entire purpose quite quickly. So much for the element of surprise. But that was the least of her worries as of now, it wasn't her problem if the guy had some really great reasoning skills. She hadn't come here for a guilt-tripping, especially not from him. But here it was. What she really wanted was for him to shut up already. Fortunately, he seemed to have found his finish with such a topic.

Very carefully Rei put some of her composure back together. It was a struggle to regain any confidence after that level of passive-aggressive scolding. He'd knocked her back pretty far, and he hadn't even had to move his body whatsoever. And yet, she was almost confused by just how eloquent he was when it came to putting the right words together. A very small part of her wanted to just simply ask him what prompted such an invective response, but that part wasn't strong enough to make her do it. The questions did circle near the back of her mind, though. How many of his words were reminiscent of his own thoughts? Or were they at all? He'd called himself a monster, after all, but that could have easily just been to humor her. She wasn't sure at this point. It was all too much, and she was glad that he'd finished.

And with Jekyll's finish, it seems like Hyde had taken his place. The guy changed in subtle yet daunting ways, most noticeably his facial expressions and the sudden vicious gleam in his eyes. Rei raised her head once again to look at him, checking out his body language and such. He hadn't physically changed, in seemed, so it wasn't a different form of himself that his body had contorted into. Instead, it just seemed to be a new personality. The wolf made sure to piece together what pride she had available, and then found ways to fake what was missing. She stiffened her spine and raised her chin just a small notch, glaring at the individual before her. He began to speak, almost casually, as though trying to make conversation. Rei didn't offer much of a response to that for obvious reasons, but instead took a brief moment to simply observe. Hyde had fluently called his counterpart a moron. How strange, really. You'd think after all this time the two would have learned how to get along, but perhaps Jackson had fought against the sadistic force within him the entire way. Esmeree certainly wouldn't have, not if he spoke like that all day. Maybe Jackson deserved a little more credit and respect than what she'd initially given him. But upon seeing Hyde's next actions, which involved the dull-witted and seemingly belated removal of the once-necessary glasses, Rei wasn't sure who should've been called the moron. The guy laughed it off, but had her muscles been able to, she would've raised a very inquisitive brow. Now would've been as good of a time as ever to attack, since Hyde was calm and surely she would've been able to at least land a blow, but Rei remained still. Perhaps a fight wouldn't be necessary at all. It's not like she was baring her teeth anymore, and, to her, Hyde seemed fairly collected. Almost reasonable, though she wasn't going to be that naive. It still surprised her, considering she would've thought he'd show up with guns blazing immediately, but the monster before her had opted to take his own time. And, unfortunately for her, she let him.

Hearing his next comment, she cocked her head to the side in an incredibly stiff and exaggerated manner. Not a movement of confusion or curiosity, but more along the lines of, "you wanna go?". Who the heck was he calling ugly? Maybe the son of a gun really did need those stupid glasses. Her upper lip twitched, but did not curl into a snarl. Instead, she just focused on letting the comment go, since there was no reason to take it personally. She wasn't in human form, after all.

Suddenly there was no space between him. Hyde's movement came abruptly. She wasn't prepared for someone to shove themselves into her face, but she reacted immediately. With the stress coiling her muscles until they were too taut to tense further, it wasn't hard to release it all. She came forward, pushing off of her hind legs to get herself an extra inch or two into the air, opening her jaws to go for the face. But she never made her intended contact; he did.

The blow had the force of a train, and that was no lie. Rei had been hit by a truck before. When you can't pump the rabid wolf full of anymore tranquilizers without risking her life, how else do you get her to stop tearing apart the guy who had possessed the audacity to try to muzzle and leash her? Exactly. They'd blown it off as a test to see her pain tolerance and healing rates - the prior being exceptional, the latter being somewhat accelerated . She'd recovered within three days, though needless to say, nobody ever dared to try to disparage her again by thinking she could be any degree of domestic. But even in comparison with that and the full body pain that came with it, being slammed by a truck didn't even compare to what planted itself in her ribs. The bones beneath the blow shattered upon contact, making sounds that were definitely audible to her, and maybe the others around if they were listening at all. The pain that ensued was immense. It came through her in a massive wave, causing all breath within her lungs to vanish. A tripled raspy yelp thrashed from her throat, there being no effort made by the wolf to silence the cry. Even though she weighed quite the amount, her body turned airborne, and it remained that way for what, to her, felt like an entire minute. In reality, it might have only been a second, but the pain was all the same when she crashed back down.

Rei tumbled over herself after she landed. She desperately clawed at the ground to slow herself to a stop, leaving a number of permanently scratches in the concrete. When she finally was able to stop moving, her first effort was to move again, this time on her own accord. Rei made an attempt to rise back to her feet, but almost immediately found the pain in her ribs to be too fresh to ignore. She toppled back down, head flopping down as her breaths heaved and her vision swam. By now she was already wondering why Hyde hadn't followed up to crack her skull on the ground, but lacked the ability to see him, or even hear him at this point due to the immense ringing that screamed in her ears. Her breaths were forced to be kept shallow, as just filling her lungs brought sharp pains. Each exhalation was accompanied by a quiet wheezing whimper, but she allowed herself to remain on the ground while she waited for the pain to subside just a little bit. It didn't seem to be making any progress. Her mind demanded she rise again and take another shot at him, but her body begged her to stay down, maybe even play dead. What was broken? Definitely a rib or two, that much she knew. Heck, broken was not an accurate description. They were undoubtedly shattered, and totally incapable of getting the pieces to fuse back together. For the werewolf, a fracture would heal within days. A full break might take a week, depending on the bone. A shattered one? Well, it could easily take a month to regrow completely, but it really was difficult to tell at this point. If the ribs were just obliterated, she might as well find herself a nice surgeon, because that bone would be in hopeless fragments that would probably need to be removed. If it wasn't that bad, maybe she could get by with just a whole ton of pain medications. Rei's healing rate, though faster than a mortal's, was not notably superior. She could not have her femur split down the middle and just have it completely better after a good night's rest - absolutely not. Her body had to take its time, and she had to take it easy. This wouldn't kill her, but, damn it, sure felt like it might.

Eventually, her vision returned, and her confidence came back in small shreds that helped to gather her back to her feet. She limped a few times as she struggled up, testing out how much weight she could put on the nearby leg. She wanted to stay off of it completely, but forced herself to set it down for the sake of trying to not look too incredibly injured. It was hard not to, though, when there was a noticeable dent in her chest from where the ribs no longer supported that area. Gritting her teeth, Rei bit back any yelps that wanted to be voiced, and instead tried to refocus herself on Hyde in hopes that maybe a potential round two would go a bit better.

What she found was a slap in the face. His attention was elsewhere, somehow focused on the two male agents. Had he thought she'd be dead?! That she wouldn't drag herself back up?! That she'd run if given the chance?! We're not finished here, you brat! Frustrated, angry, and insulted, Rei released a thunderous roaring snarl, ignoring the way her body throbbed when she produced any sort of sound. As mentioned before, Rei's tolerance to pain was incredible, especially in this form. It still hurt just as much, but she just simply knew how to handle it and accept the pain. Truly, the more she focused on the fact that something was hurting rather than how much it hurt, the less it seemed to bother her. And so she found it within her to bristle once more, infuriated that Hyde had dismissed her already.

However, there were two factors that discouraged her from challenging Hyde once again. Well, three, actually. That newest one was the fact that's she'd been completely thrown off of her feet by a fairly average-looking guy who could suddenly pack a far greater punch. But the original factors that she'd tried to think about were both from Mortimer and the other shifter. It wasn't hard to learn that Mort had joined the fight. Flames were sprouting up, bringing unnaturally formed light into the situation. It wasn't smart to get anywhere near fire, especially when you wore a very thick coat and the handler of the fire wasn't necessarily an expert. "Don't play with fire", they said, but look who broke that rule. And along had come that Chelsea girl, who Rei had watched shift from the corner of her eye. First, she left the girl unaddressed, but as the feline gave her catty growls, it was clear the other one didn't want to be ignored.

Rei couldn't help but roll her eyes over to the other shifter. Couldn't she see that the wolf was busy? Rei gave an audible scoff at the woman's choice in creatures. A snow leopard? Did she really want to fight the vicious wolf with a ball of fluff? Lowering her head so that it was level with her shoulders, Rei peeled her lip back to expose her set of canines, ears erect and tail rising into a skyward curl. Rei hadn't been particularly interested in picking a fight with the shifter so quickly, especially since she was still kind of recovering from that blow. And, truth be told, half of her attention remained on Hyde warily, in the event he stormed back over to finish the job. Could Cole take him? She'd never actually been punched by Cole before. She had no idea if he packed anything near that kind of strength, and was a little worried that he might lack the necessary murderous drive that Hyde innately had. And there was Mort now, too. Rei would admit that she was surprised the firestarter was taking him on, and she wasn't sure if she could leave him to Hyde without Cole joining him. If Hyde moved as fast as he had with her, there was no way... But Rei couldn't look away from the cat now. She had a new problem, just another one to stack up on the growing list. Mort would just have to toast the little brat. She'd be fine with that.

Esmeree had nothing more against the shifter than she did Jackson. She'd seen Jackson as a threat who hadn't been taken care of, and he'd proved her right to think so but wrong for acting on it. He was incredibly powerful. She'd underestimated him, if that was even possible, considering she'd placed him pretty high from the start. The werewolf alone was no match for him; she'd need reinforcements if she wanted to even stand a chance. Neither Jekyll nor Hyde seemed to be weak enough for her level. Sure, Jekyll hadn't carried himself with the same strength that Hyde now did, but he'd shredded apart her confidence and composure with just a few well-phrased sentences. And Hyde had beat the crap out of her with one blow. To summarize him, he'd make an excellent ally but a horrible enemy. Take a guess as to which one of those she'd made herself to be.

The wolf glared at the cat standing across from her, immediately working to ensure her own volume was louder than the feline's. In size, Rei towered over her, and while she may have lacked the same agility, she certainly had quite a ton of strength, not to mention the new drive to protect herself from further injury, given that the one she already had was probably going to hurt much more when the Adrenaline cooled. She locked her blazing eyes on the feline, opening her jaws threateningly. You really wanna take me on, fur ball? Moving slowly but not in a way that was too gingerly, she stepped towards the shifter, one pace at a time. She would not barrel into a fight, but she had no desire to just stand there and wait for Chelsea to initiate one. She'd already issued the challenge, and while Esmeree wasn't certain about accepting, her pride refused to let her back down. So she closed in, step by step, with each one letting her growl grow a little louder. But once she reached a certain distance, she stopped. She didn't lunge, she didn't snap, she didn't even add any extra emphasis onto her growls. If anything, her growls lowered down to a simple idling. The wolf was in no rush to fight quite yet, despite her usual self being very aggressive. Her attention no longer even grazed around Harley, for he seemed to be occupied by Saidi, and despite everything, nobody had thrown any fists in that corner of the event. Instead of attacking Chelsea, Rei held a stiff ground at a fairly close distance. How cocky was the shapeshifter? Or was she cocky at all? Rei certainly was, hence her current stance. If the cat made a move, she'd be ready to counter, but the wolf would remain still, asserting her mere presence as the threat instead of flaunting her strength and fearsome attributes.

harley
the vampire . pansexual . location;; hotel . tag{s};; saidi
─────────────────────────────────

harley's backbone was rigid, causing him to stand extremely straight and tall. he was already as it is, but when he truly focused on his posture he hovered even higher. normally it worked in his favor, considering logical people wouldn't dare face such a large and intimidating opponent. however, to his great discomfort, saidi didn't appear to be having any sort of issue with this matter. she was too focused on her own cockiness, he supposed. which, to him, was quite factual. this... hybrid, of sorts, he guessed, was far too confident. she couldn't be any stronger than him, so what made her think she had such a major leg-up in this conflict? harley frowned, unimpressed by the female vamp's bow and sudden gratefulness. he was appalled, especially after he began to decipher the words she'd spoken. his graciousness? what the hell had he done for her that could thank him for? according to him, this was the first time they'd met. however, it didn't take him too long to discover what this must mean. she was certainly a hybrid, just as he'd suspected originally. she was half human, as well as half vampire. and how had this been accomplished? well, by being injected by his blood, of course. harley hadn't the faintest idea how someone got their hands on his blood, but now it didn't really matter. instead, the brunette was far more focused on saidi and her existence. suddenly, it wasn't so impossible for her to be there presently. she wasn't a real vampire, nor was she there on good terms. it was made particularly clear that saidi and the others with her were there to kill, and not to become acquainted with their blood donors.

harley adjusted the collar of his coat -- the one with the long back which rippled gently in the wind, resembling a cape -- an expression of vague disgust on his pale face. the irritatingly unnecessary bow had instantly made him uncomfortable, disturbed once more by her confidence. it was... disconcerting. "i didn't give consent for my dna to be stolen," the vamp muttered sourly, each word filled with a new level of venom. his eyes were so red now there was practically no white left; he was getting a bit... angry. and, if you were educated enough on vampires, that meant the dangerous beast would literally go ham on any and all people, friend or foe. it didn't matter. if they had blood pumping about in their veins, then he would instantly pick a fight with them. this generally happened when he got hungry, and he'd been neglecting his blood lust for a while now. animals just weren't enough to satisfy him. he needed sustenance, and unfortunately he wouldn't find it in saidi. vampires generally couldn't drink other vampires' blood; it tasted stale and like a disgusting metal. so, attempting to swipe some of the female vamp's blood would likely be unwise on his part. so, who could he take on? whose blood could he intake?

a rather sour expression crossed his face when al-hasheem proceeded to question his logic. she went on and on about how questionable of a decision he was making, what, with protecting the shape shifter and the others as well. he snarled at her statement, snapping his jaws at her like an animal might towards its prey. "you're not of my species. you're not pureblooded. what do you know of what my actions should be?" harley questioned saidi, his hands curling into threatening fists. he inhaled through his nose, trying to calm himself down. but all this did was rile him up all the more, sending him reeling. there were two shape shifter scents now, and they smelled absolutely delightful. it was literally unreal how delicious a shape shifter's blood tasted to a vampire. something about it... it was just magical. he turned his head a tad, peering in chelsea's direction briefly. the temptation was great, but he refused to make any moves towards her. that would mean saidi won, and that definitely wasn't about to happen like that. hungry or not, harley could beat this. "stand against the madness? the only madness i can see here is you, and your hodgepodge group of injected randomers. you're all here to kill us, aren't you? well, unfortunately for you, i don't believe we'll be going down that easily. being the last of our species, we've been living on our own for years now. me, personally, have had so long to test my endurance. i'm willing and ready to start a fight if it means i can carry my species's name farther into the future," harley hissed dangerously, each word laced with obvious threat.

silence seemed to fall between the two for a few hesitated moments before the female vamp spoke up once more. but this time, a cocky comment didn't follow her. her name did instead. saidi. harley gave her a hard look for a few moments before opening his mouth to speak once more, "saidi, hm? yes, well, i'd love to pretend that it's a pleasure to meet you, but i cannot lie. your existence makes me just a tad miffed." harley didn't feel any sort of gentleness towards this hybrid before him. she was a conniving creature, who unfortunately had a smart mouth and all the right things to say. harley was clever, but no vampire could resist instincts. he was starved for blood, and needed it soon. very soon. he'd obviously have to select a victim, and he could only cross his fingers and pray that it wouldn't be chelsea. perhaps that other shifter instead... yes, her. he didn't like her very much. the wolf woman, who he'd easily recognized the scent of from earlier on. he'd promised her that he would come back for her eventually, and now was the perfect time. but something kept him glued to the spot, and it wasn't instinct. it was interest. saidi still stood there, standing tall with an irritating smile on her face. he needed to finish with her before he made any new moves, he knew that for certain.
