Why do I Want Her?So, as I scrolled through the newly updated list of RPWs up for adoption, I stumbled on this girl. I was looking at every single kennel, making sure that I found the one that I'd wanted to adopt the most. And, if I didn't find anyone this round, perhaps next round I'd find the right one. As I looked through the list, I found this sweetheart. When my eyes landed on her lovely design, my first thought was,
I know this wolf. I know her. I KNOW HER. That design is just SO FAMILIAR. Where have I seen her before? Is she related to one of my RPWs? I then dug through every RPW I own that has a family tree and a ton of known family background. I finally found out that Année is related to my RPW that I adopted here, from the RPW Pound - none other than my sweet little
Lola Norac! Lola is one of Année's many nieces. The initial idea of being able to own yet another gorgeous RPW from Lola's family line was intriguing to me, so I decided to look into her characterization a bit more. I looked at her absolutely amazing design - the pale, off-pink base with the white and light silver accents is lovely, and almost gives off a bold vibe; the darker, off-pink streaks almost look like wings and boots, implying at least a slight sense of longing; the white, gold, and silver bubble-like markings accenting her all-ready gorgeous design and giving off an air of determination; and her STUNNING golden eyes topping off her absolutely awesome design, giving her an intense stare and indicating that she doesn't take any flak from anybody. Just looking at her design, I was inspired to create a personality for her. I clicked with her the moment I saw her, waiting there for someone else to take her home and care for her. When I decided to try for her, I decided to dig around and found her original picture -
this one. Boy, am I glad she got a revamp!
Now, don't get me wrong - I think her original design is lovely. I like the tiny little lines on her ears, particularly - they add spunk to her design. But without her revamp, I don't know if I truly would have fallen in love with her as I have now, so I'm really very grateful for the awesome revamp that helped me get interested in the character in the first place.
What Will I do With Her?Année will be a greatly-loved character of mine. I will do my best to do some art of her and Lola, as well as her with my other RPWs, and will write stories about her in whatever free time I have. I also doodle a lot, and sketch on a weekly basis, if not more frequently, so she'll have a TON of sketches of her if I get to take care of this sweetheart forever. She'll never be lonely, either, as she'll always have one or two of my RPWs to hang out with, and with her good looks, who would pass up the opportunity to jive with a girl like her, right?

Année works outside her home. She is a marine biologist, meaning that she works in the ocean. She walks there every day, a wagon full of materials behind her. In the wagon is anything from several oxygen tanks to a wet-suit and goggles. She sometimes even has a box of chum to feed the sharks or a container of live fish that she's returning to the ocean. She loves her job very much, and adores being able to just dive under the waves and observe the fish and animals that live in the sea. Her work days are long and somewhat tiring - she almost always gets a good night's rest after working hard against the currents and riptides that can be a major problem if she's not careful enough under the waves. Année adores her job, and wouldn't want to be doing anything else.
Hobby:SailingAnnée adores the ocean, and one of her hobbies is sailing. She loves to feel the wind in her fur, and smell the salt of the ocean filling her nostrils. She loves seeing the dolphins leap above the water, and laughs at their silly antics. She loves to see the waves rock the boat, and feel the undulating movement of the ship beneath her. When she's not in the water working, she'd prefer to be as close to it as possible, and will often sail out, weigh anchor, and sleep on the boat overnight, instead of at her house. If she didn't have so much equipment that needed to be kept in a temperature-controlled environment, she'd choose to live on a boat in the ocean, sailing from place to place and enjoying the one thing she's always loved: the sea.

Long Personality:Année is most comfortable when she's alone or with her few friends she completely trusts. While she has family, she doesn't really have anything in common with them. While she's mostly a loner, when she needs the social interaction it needs to be in small spurts - she can't handle being overwhelmed with too many things for her senses to take in. This doesn't apply to her time under the water, however, as she could spend forever in the sea. She actually hates being on dry land - she's very clumsy and trips and falls a lot...but in the water or on a ship, she's right at home, and is rather graceful and composed, not klutzy and frazzled. She gets uncomfortable in crowds, and doesn't like speaking to those whom she doesn't know well, and can be a bit awkward when you try to engage her in conversation. Because of this, Année doesn't have many friends, and is thus a loner by nature. She has brief moments where she'll crave social interaction, and when this is the case she'll search for her only two RPW friends - both of whom love the water - and she'll swim with them or invite them onto the ship she always rents. Because most of the time she's alone, she's taught herself a lot that her parents never taught her. She's very independent, and doesn't take any flak from anybody. While she might not snap and yell all the time, when she does, you'd do best to watch your back - she won't hesitate to fight back when attacked.
Année is cautious, but only when she's in a situation she doesn't feel confident about. In the water, she embraces and starts enjoying life for what it is: unexpected and without schedule. Wherever the water rolls her is wheres she'll end up, so when she's in the water she's very relaxed and more pleased with herself, as she's not stressed about trying to impress someone or trying to live up to social norms. Never reckless nor cruel, she does her best to not be cowardly - she loves deeply and cares greatly for those she knows, and feels an emotional connection to nearly every being she's ever met. She is brave, but doesn't think of herself as such. She once swam directly towards a shark to free a poor baby seal, who had gotten stuck in a fisherman's discarded net. She successfully freed the seal and got away from the shark, but in the process she sliced her face on shards of glass which had gotten embedded in the net. Once she got to land, she tossed the net in the garbage and went to see a doctor, seeing as the blood hadn't stopped flowing from the cut underneath her right eye. She still has a scar there to this day, and that numb spot on her face reminds her that she really can do anything she sets her mind to, and that she can succeed in helping others, even if she does get hurt a bit in the process. She really doesn't hold any hatred against the seal for causing her scar to be present; rather she thanks him, as without that situation arising, she would never have known if she would have done what she did choose to do.
While Année is not superstitious, she does have her phobias and medical issues. She does her best to stay calm in most situations, and this alleviates the stress and anxiety she feels from her troubled past. Generally selfless and wanting the best for others and not herself, Année has been called a hero for saving many RPWs from drowning - but she really doesn't like to hear the praise. She doesn't believe the words to be true, as she's never thought of herself as a hero; she only did what needed to be done. She dealt with what life decided to throw her. She didn't think about what she was doing - she just closed her eyes and lept. Even though she's tried to explain this to the mayor of her city, he's refused to listen and has awarded her with three medals of bravery for different things - one for saving a group of young RPWs from drowning, one for saving an adult RPW from getting attacked by a shark, and one for saving a dolphin caught in a rather tangled bed of sea-kelp. Even though she's refused to show up for the ceremonies, the mayor has still given them to her in boxes on her front porch, forcing her to choose to keep them or throw them out. She's chosen to keep them, and has had them framed. After all, she was awarded something, even if she feels she wasn't worthy of having such awards - she might as well keep them. They might come in handy someday, after all.
Année is very loving and encouraging by nature. She'll help you realize your potential and yell for you to cross the finish line, even if she isn't racing beside you. She doesn't mind not being the center of attention if it helps you further your life and you attain your goals. She is also very loyal, so once she makes a friend she'll never forsake them. She is steadfast, and will stick by your side for life. If you hurt her feelings, she might feel bad for awhile, but if you apologize, then she's willing to look past it and start anew. If you never apologize, however, Année won't hesitate to keep a grudge against you. If you apologize at a later date, she may accept it - but she's less willing to accept it at that point in time than she would have been if you'd apologized right after the fact instead of waiting forever to get around to doing it.
While everyone seems to think that Année is a weakling and a pushover, she is exactly the opposite. She has a very high work drive, and will work hard to get what she wants. With having to deal with life and other junk, she's become cold towards beings who are cruel and mean to her. She might not tell you to your face that she hates you, but she might very well feel this way. She's not afraid of having opinions, and has plenty to go around - she just doesn't always voice them in company she's not very familiar with. If confronted, she may snap and yell at you if you show her enough anger - but her tolerance levels are fairly high, and she can take a lot before she cracks. With bullying, she has a zero-tolerance policy, and if she ever sees anyone picking on someone whom she doesn't think deserves it, her somewhat-shy and recluse personality will disappear to be replaced by a growling, snarling, angry wolf who won't stand for injustice. She's stuck up for her friends several times, seeing as they've been bullied, and while this might put a target on her back, she doesn't mind - she's doing the right thing, and that's all that matters to her.
Année sticks firm to her beliefs, and doesn't waver in them. Even if you try to convince her that she's wrong, you might find it similar to trying to make a brick wall move - it just won't happen. This can be both bad and good - good for the good things that she believes in, like bullying is detestable and should be stopped if it can be; or bad for the incorrect things she believes in, such as that most RPWs are mean and she wants nothing to do with them. If someone she loves is in pain, she would go to the ends of the earth to protect and help them. She doesn't care what stands in her way - she is very determined by nature, and is stubborn...perhaps to a fault. She is very unwilling to move on things she believes deeply in, and if someone she loves is in danger, she'd drop everything to run to their side and help them. She doesn't care what dangers lie ahead of her - if she needs to help someone, nothing can stop her.

LamarBest FriendAnnée has a great appreciation for Lamar. She loves water even more than he does, and will often go adventuring with him, deep beneath the waves. She is always there for him when he needs it, and he is always there for her when she needs it. She looks out for Lamar on his bad days, and days where he needs more help than his average days. She can generally just find him under the water, swimming with their other friend, Thalassa. He feels more like a burden to her, but she's promised that he's not - she doesn't mind being around him, and is certainly not taking pity on him by simply swimming with him or hanging out with him on her off days where she doesn't have to work. When she is working, sometimes Lamar will show up and help her find stuff, thanks to his love of water and his excellent swimming skills - and if he can't help her, Thalassa is always ready to lend a helping paw. Lamar and Année spend quite a lot of time together, and Année has found that over the years, they've grown closer than ever.

ThalassaBest FriendAnnée and Thalassa get along very well, and will often spend hours underneath the waves, searching for new sea creatures or shipwrecks to check out. Année knows that Thalassa really isn't interested in dating, so she doesn't have to be wary around him, as she does around other RPWs who might end up wanting to date her. Année loves to be around Thalassa, as his quiet demeanor calms her down. If she ever needs to just rant to someone, Thalassa is the one she chooses to go to. Année is still trying to figure out how to tell him she likes him, and is trying her best to drop hints...but it doesn't seem like he's picking them up. Année plans on upping her game to try to get him to see that she likes him - and only as a last resort will tell him exactly how she feels for him. Année likes to be around Thalassa, as she finds that they are very similar, and she always has a great time when she's around him. She loves him very much, and hopes one day to have a family with him...if he could ever notice that she actually has a crush on him, that is.

Spirit BreakerFatherAnnée doesn't get along very well with her father at all. He's very cold and distant, so she never spends time with him. When she is around him, his forced politeness gets on her nerves, and makes her feel like he doesn't truly care about her or what she believes. Now, Année isn't the most talkative RPW in any sense of the word, but when she does want to chat with someone quickly, she will NEVER choose her father. Because of this, she feels as if she'd nearly been disowned, though she never was - she was simply estranged. She's just always felt as if she's never been welcome in his presence, so she never sees him and generally stays as far away from him as possible.

LinaMotherAnnée loves her mother very much, and has never understood her mother's choice to marry such an odd RPW as her father, but nevertheless has always looked up to her mother and her always-uplifting personality. While Année doesn't always get along perfectly with her mother, and she does have her disagreements with the older RPW, Année ultimately counts her mother more as a friend than an actual mother-figure. Her stubbornness and easily-irritable nature annoy Année at times, and her sweet tooth, hyperness, and silliness really don't seem like the most mature things to be exhibiting in a full-grown RPW. Année thinks of herself as more mature than her mother, so that's why she counts her mother, Lina, as more of a friend than a mother figure. However, Année does respect her mother, and really appreciates all she's done for her in her short life. Année loves her mother very much, and would voluntarily choose to be around her for a bit of time - just not too much.

ShahaylasYounger SisterAnnée and Shahaylas are similar, but only in the fact that they tend to be more hermit-like in nature than outgoing. Année doesn't hate her sister like she does her father, and doesn't blame her for being so outspoken - against such an odd father-figure, one would be expected to respond harshly. However, Année really doesn't do much with her younger sister just due to difference of interests. She loves the little wolf, but doesn't make it habit to hang around her because of her sometimes-hurtful personality.

LeonardoOlder BrotherAnnée actually doesn't mind spending time with Leonardo. While his goofiness can get on her nerves after awhile, he tends to not annoy her as much as his mate, Rolo, does. Année loves her brother very much, and if she needs advice she'll most likely turn to him instead of any other RPW in her immediate family, due to far too many differences in their personalities. If she had to choose anyone in her immediate family to spend time with, she'd choose Leonardo, because out of all the RPWs in her immediate family, Leo seems to have a heart of gold and really does his best to understand Année, and for that, she is grateful.

RoloSister-in-lawAnnée gets along all right with Rolo. She likes hanging around the RPW, even though Rolo tends to be more silly and talkative than Année generally prefers. Now, Rolo's goofy personality can get on Année's nerves, and she is often frustrated with the RPW...but she doesn't hate the RPW by any means, and couldn't be happier for her brother, Leonardo, for finding love with Rolo. She appreciates all that Rolo has done for her family - and, without Rolo, Année wouldn't have her totally awesome nieces and nephews!

She does her best to speak up when asked, but most RPWs just get too frustrated with her and storm off, never to truly understand what it's like feeling like you'll never have anything good to say to contribute to the conversation at hand.

Lola NoracNieceAnnée loves Lola very much. She doesn't talk much with the younger RPW, but that's only because Lola isn't very talkative. Année and Lola share similar interests in music, so she'll often go to Lola's house to listen to famous older composers that most RPWs can't stand listening to. Bartók is her favorite, but because Lola detests his music, they rarely listen to him, and instead opt to listen to Chopin or Handel. Lola gets along with this RPW very well, and doesn't have any problems at all with Année.

CreamNieceAnnée gets along very well with Cream. Cream, like Année, is very focused and loves to help others. She is serious, and not a jokester like her mother. However, Année can get annoyed at Cream taking over everything, but if she's not too bossy, Année doesn't mind...too much. She knows that her niece means well - even if Année is more suited for being in charge, as she's older by quite a few years.

She has socked paws, an interesting wing-like design in darker colors along both sides of her back, her eyes have darker-colored fur surrounding them, and her entire body is covered in gold, white, and grey dots. She has one scar underneath her right eye.
Humanized:
- Brief description of home (apartment, house, etc.): She lives on the beach, her house overlooking the ocean. Wooden-looking from the outside, her house is plain and not really much to look at. Sandy-colored paint covers most of her house, and there are white and pale green accents every so often that can be seen. As for the interior, her home has two floors. The top floor has the tiny entryway, kitchen, main bedroom, and large bathroom. The average-sized staircase leads down to the bottom floor, where the small bathroom, kitchenette, and guest bedroom can be found.

Her wavy hair is usually pulled up into a high ponytail away from her face, but because her hair is usually cut into layers, some of the layers won't fit into this ponytail and hang forward, occasionally falling into her face. If these sections of hair get too bothersome for her, she'll pin them up using bobby-pins. Usually, these sections are tucked behind her ears, and most of them will stay there without having to be smothered in hairspray or bobby-pinned to stay put.

- How much school did she attend, if any? Did she like school? Why or why not? She went to school to get her degree in Marine Biology, and before that point she did attend and graduate high school. She hated high school, and disliked college for the same exact reasons - she hated how the people there treated her. - General health (good, excellent, poor)? She has good health.
- Pace of speech (fast, average, slow): Depending upon who she's with, she'll either speak normally or very quickly.
- Voice tone (shrill, high, average, deep, squeaky, hoarse, harsh, authoritative, cultured, etc.): Her voice is not squeaky or harsh, nor is it shrill. Her voice is low-ish, but more on the average side of the scale than anything. She rarely goes hoarse, and her voice is definitely not deep or cultured. She can be authoritative when she needs to be, but generally, she speaks in a very calm and caring manner, and won't snap or speak harshly unless she's angry.
- Any favorite habitual words/phrases? She says "just," "only," and "cool," a lot.
- Typical posture? (1=Stiff - 2=Stands straight but not stiffly - 3=Average, varies with mood - 4=Slumped/defeated - 5=Slouchy, careless - 6=Relaxed) She generally stands straight but not stiffly, but her posture also varies with mood - so I'd say she's somewhere between a 2 and a 3.
- What does she most value/prioritize (family, money, success, etc.)? Her job and her relationships with others.
- Whom or what would she be willing to die for? Any of her friends or family.
- What is her biggest fear? Dying of anything other than old age.

- Is she an optimist or pessimist? An optimist, definitely.
- What are her own favorite attributes (both physical and personal)? Her favorite thing about herself is her eyes. She also likes that she's determined.
- How does she react to a crisis? Well, that depends on the crisis. If it's one where she isn't freaked out, she can think rationally and do what needs to be done. If she's freaking out, she'll be curled in a ball and unable to move from the fear coursing through her body.
