Yes, they split.
I think they're talking about the sufganiyah Hanukkah kitty. It's full grown, just like the gelt kitty from last year.
As for tonights Christmas pets, I think there are 10 like last time.
(and thanks for clearing up my split confusion! I didn't see anyone mention it yet!)
