It was tense, especially when splits only happen when they age at a later date from one previous stage in multiple "layers" instead of two from one previous stage. Kind of like the Halloween dragons vs. chickens.

For those thinking that the 18th gives you horrible pets… let me remind you that all pets are great. Even re-releases are great! True, they aren't true-date pets, but it doesn't cause worth or demand to be removed from them. True date = re-release. Pets likes this one

Now then… where is that light tan teddy bear pup I'm missing and the darker blue-gray 2nd gen bun?! Most of my teddy bear pups grew to the one that has stuffing coming out of it. XD LOL

I have a feeling that pup will have some nice patches when it grows up.
Since I recently joined CS, all three(?) pets given to me on the 18th will be cherished no matter the outcome.

UR pets are re-released. It's the store pets that are NOT re-released. Each year there is a chance to get a new UR pet.
