Rivermist smiled down at Skykit. "He wants to talk to us about something." She said gently, so she wouldn't feel like she did something wrong.

Sunstar nodded and passed them, stepping into his den.

Shadedpaw stalked back to camp. She had cauht another piece of prey, this time a plump rabbit. Shadedpaw knew it rather odd for the season, but she did not really care. She crept through her den in her hiding corner again. She started to sleep in the cozy crack right after she dropped off her prey.

Talk about something? About what? I thought to myself as we continued across the clearing. I looked up from my thoughts and saw Sunstar pad into an opening in a pile of rocks. I watched as both Hawkwing and Rivermist followed. But I didn't. That place looked too dark for my liking. Maybe I don't have to go in! I prayed. I nervously padded closer to the den and say down of front of the opening. Just thinking about what could be lurking in that dark place caused me to start shaking.

Hawkwing sat to his leaders left after walking into Sunstar's den. The large tom carefully wrapped his tail around his paws. (writers block)

Rivermist curled her tail around Skykit before continuing into the faintly lit den, which was surprisingly welcoming for it to be a cave, with its smooth floor. She sat down next to Hawkwing and across from Sunstar and motioned for Skykit to sit down next to her.

Sunstar waited for everyone to get settled before starting. "Skykit, would you like to tell us a little about yourself? Like, how old you are?" He asked gently.

I looked up at Sunstar in confusion. "How old I am?" What did that even mean? I didn't understand. Old as in age? I looked down at my paws trying to think. I don't remember having one... Again I felt the wind. I looked around but whether the other cats in the den felt it I did not know. Then a voice spoke, "You are 5 moons, Little one. 5 moons. Then it faded. I was really confused now. I stood up, my fur ruffled, and sniffed the air. I only scented the tree cats in the cave. Sitting back down I spoke quietly, "I guess I'm 5 moons..."

Sunstar nodded. "Alright. That means that you'll be an apprentice soon. You become an apprentice when you turn 6 moons. Apprentices like Shadedpaw train to become warriors like Hawkwing and Rivermist." He explained.

Apprentice? Warrior? These words floated around in my head and caused a spark of excitement to course through me. "Wait. Does that mean I can stay here with the clan cats?" I tried to hide my excitement but when I looked up at Rivermist I couldn't help but smile.

Sunstar nodded. "Either you stay or you would have to leave the territory. I wouldn't want to send a kit away, but it's your decision." He said gently.
