fraser greene - tagged; everyone at parking lot

Fraser frowned, biting down on his lip to prevent a grunt as he hefted up the backpack he planned to bring on the trip. The thing had to be at least fifteen pounds. There was no way he was going to carry that behemoth around. Fraser sighed, resigning himself to the fact that he had to lose some gear to reduce the weight of the pack. And he supposed bringing a heavy-duty wire cutter wasn't exactly essential as he repacked for the fourth time. Well, you never know. 'You never know' was Fraser's catchphrase at this point, but it would be infinitely stupid to not prepare well for a trip like this. He would rather have to heft around a heavy pack than be slowly dying of hypothermia in a ditch on the side of the road. He decided to ignore the fact that it was summer, and that they would be travelling in a car. Anyways, Fraser was wholly certain that he had prepared enough. He always tried to be certain that he had prepared enough.

Finally stuffing his favorite book into his backpack (1984), he carefully stepped out of his room and down the stairs, before passing through the kitchen towards the front door. As he walked by the familiar kitchen counter, he saw a notepad and pen. Upon closer inspection, there was a grocery list on it, written in his mother's familiar hand. One of the items was cranberry scones, his favorite food. He was hit with a wave of nostalgia. Fraser mulled over his decision to not leave a note. Maybe he should. Might as well.

    Mom and Dad,
Don't worry about me. I'm fine.

    Love,
    Fraser.

Steeling himself with a deep breath, he quickly opened the front door as to avoid creaking. The warm night air rushed in as Fraser closed the door, briskly walking towards his car. He winced as it beeped when he unlocked the doors, sliding into the driver's seat and pulling out of the driveway. He heistated for a bit before driving out of his street. This would be the last time in a long time that he would ever see his house, for better or for worse. Fraser decided it was for better, before turning and driving away.

Soon enough, maybe too soon, the park was in sight. Others were already there, luckily enough. He parked, hopping out of the car with the backpack and promptly dropping it on the asphalt of the parking lot. It hit the ground with a metal clang. "Sorry. Must've hit the monkey wrench."

daxton, the lonewolf - post. one

Daxton James

Gender. Male | Age. Eighteen | Tagged. Everyone at parking lot
───────────────────────────────────────────

Daxton sighed as he began to think about what he was going to say to his parents through a note. He did actually feel bad that he had to leave them a note instead of actually saying his goodbyes, but it didn't matter to him at the moment. His goal was to actually write and finish this note. He was already fully packed with all of the necessary items he needed, which was currently in his room. Daxton had already thrown away two letters he tried to write, meaning he obviously failed. "Okay, Daxton," he muttered to himself, "just write it! It doesn't have to be large and meaningful." So he went right back to thinking about what to write and finally finished it.

    Dear family,

I'm going on a trip and I'm not exactly sure when I'll be back. But I promise you I'll be fine, so there's no need to worry about me.

    Love, Daxton

Daxton let out a puff of air once he finished writing it. It wasn't much as he did plan, but it was just perfect for him. He placed it below a flower vase nicely, where he assumed his family would notice it. He figured he might as well get his belongings now and head out, hoping he wouldn't be too late. So he went up the stairs which led him to a long, dark corridor until he finally got to his room. He knew he'd probably miss his room, but it didn't matter much as of now. What mattered was him finally leaving for the trip. Daxton peeked over at his suitcase, and decided to check through it to make sure he had everything he needed. Or, well, wanted. He nodded as he noticed that he had everything necessary. He grabbed his suitcase and ran quickly through the hallway and down the stairs. He reached the door that led outside and sighed. "Time to go."

Once Daxton went outside, the cool air hit his face and he smiled slightly. He walked across the cracked sidewalk from his home to outside of his gate that protected his house. He followed the concrete that led him to his destination and it took a while to get there. The park was finally in sight and a lot of other people were they. He sighed, knowing that he was probably one of the last to come. He nodded his head towards the others as he reached them in the parking lot. He didn't mind if he came off as rude, honestly. He just hoped that maybe he wouldn't regret deciding to come on this trip.

Adam Henderson
─────────────────────────────────────────
Adam sighed, taking his favorite parka from the coat rack. He remembered when he got the expensive jacket at age thirteen. It had been way too big for him then, and was still a bit oversized by now. He slipped it on with ease and sighed, grabbing his flannel-patterned backpack and stuffing it with all his necessities. Adam packed a few button-up plaid shirts, jeans, and extra pair of shoes, hoodies, a backup pair of glasses and a backup beanie, and so on. Adam went on to pack his phone and charger, money, several snacks, a couple good books, and his headphones. It was finally time for him to get going. He was about to have second thoughts on this. Maybe this wouldn't be such a good idea. His parents were kind people, and he hated to see them worry. Adam then remembered why he was leaving. The fakes. They drove him crazy, he couldn't spend another day with them. Not another second. He only prayed that there were no people like that going on the trip, as he came to get away from those kinds of people in the first place. They had met briefly to discuss plans about it all, but that certainly guaranteed nothing. He was just about to quietly exit the old house, careful not to wake his sleeping parents, whose snores could be heard from upstairs. His parents were both loud snorers, and though he was uncertain of the fact that he snored, he hoped he didn't. Well before he could get out of the house [praying that the door didn't squeak], he noticed a pad of paper and an old fountain pen that his dad cherished. That was a little odd, seeing his pen just laying there on the kitchen table. As he inched closer, he realized it was his Mom's handwriting. She must have borrowed his beloved pen. It was just a paper filled with scribbled-out character designs. His mom was a Gaming Artist who got money from designing characters for new games, and she had apparently been doodling up an idea that she eventually just gave up on. With a small, crooked smile, he flipped to the next blank page and began writing a goodbye letter.

Dear Mom & Dad,
No, I wasn't kidnapped or anything. I didn't get into a bad situation, I'm perfectly safe. I decided to go on a trip with a handful of people from my school. I'm sorry for leaving without saying goodbye, I should know better I know, but please don't worry. I promise I'll be back... Sometime soon. So just, don't worry so much okay? I have you're numbers, I'll call you if something happens. But... Please don't call me. I won't pick up. I'm sorry, but I'll be back. I'm not leaving you, just taking a break from my teenage drama-fest.

Love you,
Adam

Adam sighed, getting a piece of tape and sticking it to the table so his parents were sure not to miss it. it was in plain sight, it should have been easy to spot. Still, he made sure to move the extra notepad in case they got it confused with something that just feel out of there. With one last pang of doubt, which he slowly compressed, Adam swiftly crept out the door and didn't look back as he started towards the parking lot. It took him a solid five minutes to get there, which felt like hours, and once he did he felt his heart thump faster. He would never admit it, but he was nervous. Very nervous. Not of being homesick or the police trying to find them or anything, but he was nervous of being around so many people for such a long amount of time. He didn't know if he'd get used to it, but it was too late to back down now. The forming group of teenagers had already spotted him. Adjusting his parka, he walked casually towards them without a word. He leaned leaned on a light pole right next to the bench a couple of them were sitting on, and Adam payed no mind to anyone. He just waited for everybody else to arrive, and as usual, would refuse to even glance at anyone who attempted small talk. Everyone knew the Outcast, that sad guy who had no friends. Boo-hoo. No one talked to him, and he didn't talk to anyone. That was just the way it was, and Adam was anything but eager to have his thick shell broken.

Charlotte Abernathy { The Organized }
✓ Location: Park ✓ Tags: Everyone at the parking lot ✓

Everything was packed. Everything off her checklist was in her one roller suitcase and her travel purse. Yet Charlotte looked at herself in the mirror by the front door in her homes foyer. Her face however, showed she was having second thoughts. "Mom! I'm going on a trip with some friends! I don't know when I'll be back and I'm taking my life savings with me!" Silence only answered her making her seal her fight without a second thought. With a nod Charlotte looked at her watch staring at the time. She lived near by the park but none the less if she didn't leave now she'd be late. Her parents had left only a few hours ago with both cars leaving her to have to walk. Which she didn't mind since walking didn't leave much of a trace as one of her parents car parked in a random parking lot would have. Her mom had gone on an unexpected trip for her work, and her father had been called back to the hospital for an emergency. They had left Charlotte all on her own, knowing she had a busy schedule to up hold. If she wasn't leaving with a bunch of random strangers from her school she would have been stuck working on what she was going to need for college, what she was going to take, and what she was going to leave behind. Graduation was only a week a way and she was already planning for her already scheduled future... That was until she had decided to go with the others from school. From that one meeting Charlotte couldn't help but feel excited about it. Even though she knew no one. But it wouldn't be to much trouble right? Charlotte glances once more at the mirror and nods her head. Quickly moving her bangs aside she grabs her coat and things exiting her house slamming the door hard behind her. Her heart racing as she tapes the note she had already written out on the front door. In her neat cursive hand writing she wrote,

"Mom and dad. I'm going to do something different for a change. Don't worry about me I'll be fine. I have enough money and clothes. See you in a while. Love Charlotte."

It was simple and straight to the point. She couldn't write anything sympathetic for them. After the note is placed on the door Charlotte now races almost out of her yard towards the park they all agreed to meet at. She slows down though when she sees a group of kids. She walks now at a normal speed as she tries to regain her breath. Approaching the group she looks between them and gives them a small smile, "Sorry I'm late.." It felt weird to her to be somewhere not on time for once. Not only did she feel like a slacker but she felt sort of awkward showing up after everyone else had already. It's a feeling I'm going to have to get used to..

Niomi felt her thoughts race with worry, fear, sadness and even excitement. Though she couldn't think clearly about how this trip could be exciting, all she was thinking about was how her family would react to her sudden disappearance. The note she left was still clear in her mind, she had filled a whole page with things like I'm going on a trip with some friends, I promise I'll be back, though I don't know when, we haven't decided that yet... We're just going to go and see where we go, I guess. and I'll miss you, I'm sorry for not telling you before this.. Niomi bit her cheek nervously as she stared off into the distance, not paying attention to her surroundings.

Niomi jumped as a twig snapped behind her and a voice sounded close beside her. She whipped her head in the direction of the noise to see Carolina, the dark-haired girl shifted her blue gaze down because in truth she wasn't sure if she was ready. Though, when she spoke she said, "Yeah, how about you?" trying her best to convince the girl. Though, she didn't know why she even tried, she was an open book, easy to read. Niomi wrung her fingers together nervously and shifted her gaze back to Carolina, waiting for her answer. While she waited she was aware of other members of the group showing up and beginning to form a group, Avalon showed up in her car and she saw Graham bring the camper. She gripped her hand on her suitcase, unsure to when they would be leaving, Niomi expected they would be leaving soon, she didn't think anyone wanted to hang out in the cold any longer.

Niomi heard the soft footfalls of someone walking towards them, she didn't pay it any mind because she knew it was most likely someone from group. She did become curious when the footsteps stopped a few feet away from everyone. That was when she turned her head she saw a dark figure leaning against a pole to her left, though the dark haired teen couldn't tell who it was. She looked around and counted off all the other members of the group Carolina, Avalon, Graham, Charlotte, Daxton and Fraser... No Adam, that must be him, that also explains why he isn't with the group.. she thought as her blue eyes returned to his figure. She felt the urge to go up and say hello, but she didn't, she just returned her gaze to Carolina and planted a small smile on her face.

.........standing around awkwardly wasnt going to do anything to help ease the uncomfortable situation. instead, graham opted to look for someone to make small talk with. usually, he'd be content with standing at the back of the room, setting something on fire. but he was going to spend a hell lot of time with these people, might as well get accustomed to socializing with them. looking around, he tried to look for someone who looked most vulnerable. immediately, someone stuck out like a sore thumb. it was fraser, with his giant backpack, which oddly resembled a chunky jet pack. it was hilarious, in an odd way. initially, he'd thought of making a joke about how fraser gets so worked up over everything, but decided against it. his snarky remarks could wait, graham couldn't cause these people to dislike him on the first day of meeting them. with confidence, he walked over to fraser and his chunky back pack.
........."hey there, your jet pack seems pretty heavy to lug around. would you like to - er - leave it in the camper?", graham asked, unsure of how to ask politely without sounding to intruding or rude. normally, he wouldn't give talking to someone so much thought, but graham wanted to get off on the right foot here. it was proving to be a lot of work. the silence was getting over bearing, and graham didn't know what to do with himself, so he dragged his attention back to the boy in front of him. fraser looked worried beyond belief, and graham couldn't help but let out a short snicker. although, having a sense of when to draw a line is probably very helpful in most dangerous situations he drags himself into. i mean, what person with a good sense of danger would join a circus for a day in a foreign state? having someone as worrisome and precautionary are fraser would be nice, to keep him from blowing up.

The blonde covered her mouth, trying to hide a giggle. "I am so sorry. I really didn't mean to scare you. I guess I'm a quieter walker than I give myself credit for." Merriment showed in her bright blue eyes as she placed her guitar case on the ground to give her arm a break. As long as she had been carrying it around, she never really got used to how awkward it was since it was pretty big. She shivered a little, rubbing her arms to keep her warm. She knew she was exaggerating a little bit, but Carolina had always been one to get cold easily.

"Yes, I'm ready. As ready as I ever could be." She answered that with confidence. She really was ready. She had been counting down the days in her head. Working where she worked wasn't the best thing, but she couldn't find a better one. Sighing, she looked over at the rest of the group that was coming. She took a mental check on each one as they arrived. Was she in charge of making sure everyone was there? No. Did she do it anyway? Of course she did. She couldn't help it. She placed the strap of her guitar case back on her shoulder, grabbing the bag she had her clothes and money in.

Niomi was ready for Carolina's response this time and she looked up at the blonde-haired girl as she spoke. She could tell she was holding back a chuckle as she commented on her being frightened when she had walked up. Though, she didn't mind much, she bet she wouldn't found it funny if she was in Carolina's shoes. Niomi planted a small smile on her face, surprised at how easy it was to talk to this girl whom she had never spoken to before in her entire life. Even so, her heart was pounding and she knew that if she let her fingers loose from thier grip on her suitcase they would be shaking. Niomi shifted slightly before she replied, "That's alright, I was just kind of just out of it for a moment, I guess I was lost in thought for a while," she said. Though as the words escaped her lips she instantly regretted them, she didn't want Carolina to question her about what she had been thinking about, that was her thoughts no one else's. She also didn't want to reveal that she had been worrying about her family when she had already agreed to being ready for the trip.

Niomi let her blue gaze fall to her lap as Carolina spoke about being as ready as she would ever be and she wished that she had been more honest about her feelings. But she knew that even if she wanted to tell Carolina how she felt she wouldn't have been able to, she just wasn't good at speaking about her feelings, she had never been. Even as a child Niomi never said anything about her emotions, until she was two she didn't speak properly. It wasn't that she didn't know how to talk because she completely did, she just chose not to. Niomi remembered her mom always getting annoyed when her sister would speak for her, but even then when she got mad she didn't say a word, she just looked down and when she was dismissed she would run to her room. As those memories filled her mind she felt her throat tighten and her eyes sting with tears No. You will not do that here, you came to have fun, not to be sad about your family the whole time. They'll understand.. she told herself and she screwed her eyes shut tightly, forcing yhw tears back. There was no reason to be sad, there was no going back now, the only thing to do was to enjoy the trip and make memories. That's what this was for, right?

Niomi quickly rose from the bench and looked at Carolina, "Sorry, I just need some air," she murmured with a small smile, hoping she knew what she meant. Niomi could only hope, though she did think that the blonde would understand, that Carolina would understand that she needed to just go off for a few minutes and take a breather to go over what was going to happen in only a few minutes. The brunette moved her bag and suitcase off the bench and put them beside the wooden seat before she turned and began walking with slow steps away from the group. She took a few seconds to glance back at the others before she was out of earshot then she let out a sigh of relief. Though, it was short lived because she just realized the the looming presence beside her Oh, yeah. I forgot about Adam, he's just so quiet. she thought as she spotted him only about two steps in front of her. Niomi took a small step, leaving plenty of space between the two of them, "Um.. Hey, Adam," she said awkwardly. Her heart pounded faster and she could almost feel it in her throat, she quickly put her hands behind her back to hide the fact that they were shaking. Niomi didn't like it, but she had a lot of trouble talking to people she didn't know well and it was quite a surprise that she even managed to spit out a "hello".

Adam Henderson
─────────────────────────────────────────

Adam suddenly heard a nervous voice sputter a greeting to him. If the parka's hood wasn't covering his eyes, he would have looked almost shocked. He wouldn't have even thought that anyone was directing their words to him if she hadn't said his name. He silently tried to wrap his brain around what her name was. Nami, was it? No, he didn't think so, but it was something along those lines. He was very reluctant in responding, and chose not to do so. This girl was no different then anyone else: he wasn't going to suddenly just open up to her because she was the first person to have actually tried to start a conversation with him. Any words usual people would bestow upon him would just be bland, meaningless insults that they probably thought were so very clever [besides his family, obviously]. He didn't plan to even give something as simple as a shrug. He never had in the past, and he certainly wouldn't stop being his normal anti-social self now. Introverted stubbornness aside, Adam thought that the girl was actually pretty brave in a sense, though he'd of course never show it physically. By brave, he meant talking to him like he was a normal person and trying to make basic conversation without the fear of being hunted down by the fakes that made people feel like garbage just for even sharing a word with him. Then again, why would she have any fear of that here? Granted there were other people in their small group, but Adam didn't really consider any of them to be popular and well-known people throughout the school. Everyone seemed like they were somewhere in the middle with the whole "popularity meter" crap, whilst Adam, unsurprisingly, was at the very bottom of that chart.

Adam assumed that she would continue waiting for a response--or not--and decided to finally show some sign of recognition. It was a simple method of him adjusting his backpack, letting her know that he was aware of her presence and acknowledged her nervous introduction. Yet he still did not speak or even make eye contact. He just kept leaning quietly on the light pole, as he had been since he first got to the parking lot, and hoped she wouldn't invest too much into a full-scale conversation. If she did, Adam would probably just move to a different spot at that point, and if she followed he'd just try to ignore her until everything and everyone was ready to get going. He couldn't wait to get into the camper so he could just get away from this damp and dark meeting place. All he wanted to do at that point was lay in his bunk-bed or mattress or cot or whatever they had for you to sleep on campers so he could just quietly get out a good book and not socialize with anyone for the entire trip. That was what sounded satisfying to him.
