Wacom Bamboo Fun, my aunt is a professional photographer and she gave me
her old tablet, she says that Wacom is the only tablet brand she trusts!

What are the most important things to check for when you purchase one?
make sure you read and match the requirements!!! Also make sure it will work
for a long period of time, and if it comes with extra pen nubs, more power to you.
Trust me. You want all the pen nubs you can get.

? I have one that hooks up with a USB, though one of my friends has a tiny one that is
wireless but it has problems staying connected unless it's going through a cable. you
also want to specify what kind of tablet!!! I asked for a tablet to draw with when I
was getting into drawing more, and I received a Kindle Fire, like "haha look we got
you a TABLET" and I had to fake being happy about it because I didn't want a tablet
at all, I wanted a DRAWING tablet. They don't have internet, I don't think.

That balloon animation is the cutest thing ever! I would definitely pay for them!

What kind of tablet do you have/recommend?
I have had a Wacom Intuos 3, 2 different sizes, and a Bamboo Create.
I've used a bamboo fun before, but the feel of the tablet didn't suit me.
Currently the Bamboo Create is my tool of trade and I have to admit I love it.
The "drawing" area of the tablet is the size of a regular sheet of paper, and I definitely had to get used to it.
But the feel of the tablet itself is very smooth.
I've only one complaint about it at all and that's the pen nibs that you have to buy for the pen.
They seem like they wear down a bit faster than the older ones that came with my Intuos tablet.

What are the most important things to check for when you purchase one?
Hmm well reviews I'd say. You want to check for compatibility and the best value for your money.
But the reviews themselves can speak a lot for the tablet and it's durably as well as comfort level.

Well as far as "drawing" tablets go, yes. All that I know of can hook up to laptops/computers via USB port and are fine with Oekaki. There is a driver/application you download for the oekaki so you can have pen pressure sensitivity work on it. As far as the higher end or more-like "tablets" that everyone refers to as tablets, I don't know much on those. Drawing tablets with screens should be fine but I've not ever used any so I'm uncertain. c:
