What are the "Toon Link" games like? I feel like they look childish.. is the game play childish or somewhat deep?

Well in Spirit Tracks, Zelda dies and in Phantom Hourglass...honestly I don't know much about it since it doesn't interest me but I know it's takes place after Windwaker, but no.
Though I'm not sure what you mean by childish, Mostly all Zelda games have a deep meaning or atleast one dark part to them.

yeah I'd agree with Sasha.
they might be "easier" but that could be just that I'm playing them now I'm nearly an adult as opposed to OoT which i played when I was like 10.
Toon link games are just highly stylised and stylised games can still be adult like okami or borderlands. Windwaker definitely had its fair share of pretty sad moments, and i'd be lying if i said when i first saw a re-dead in it I didn't still instantly freeze up in that childhood fear I had of them.

What about A Link Between Worlds, then? It's a fairly "traditional" Zelda game, and most people like it.

I wouldn't conside A link between Worlds a traditional Zelda game...
Atleast compared to the usual Zelda storyline, it's Hella different...
For starters you should play a game like Ocarina of Time or MM, something more memorable.
I mean, LBW is still a great game and I totally recommend it but if you do, just know, most of other Zelda games aren't similar to it...
I'm not sure what but it just doesn't feel like the usual Zelda game?

Also, Spirit Tracks,Phantom Hourglass and A Link Between Worlds are all games in a birds eye view format.

MM sounds creepy and I've heard it's darker then the rest of the Zelda games is that true and if so how much darker is it?

By "traditional" I mean "not particularly gimmicky", if that makes any sense. No wagglemotes or touch screen controls to be had, though people were fearing ALBW would have the latter for some reason.

i have to disagree as you make it sound like the game is scary, the link is dead is a theory and the games itself can really make me laugh, and theres some really AMAZING music and parts of the game that are truly fun. c:

Oh I didn't mean to make it sound scary, just dark since the game is dark.

It can be humorous like any other Zelda game.
