She nodded and quickly ran to the fence, climbed it and got her twolegs, which followed her to the injured Mousepaw. Brownie put her nose to his cheek. "You'll be fine." She whispered.

"I understand why you don't think the rule should apply to males, but there is one thing you have to understand. We can't be choosing favorites in the clan. Let's say you had a kit, and he was injured in battle. Nearly the entire clan was injured in battle. If you have a kit, your instinct would be to save your kit first, would it not?" Jadeheart explained. "Us Medicine cats have to view the entire clan as our kits. We can't pick out favorites, and having kits would force us to." Jadeheart said. Jadeheart wasn't the best at explaining things, but she hoped he would get the message.

"Actually, I wouldn't. If it was me, my top priority would be the deputy, you if you got hurt, and the elders." Icetooth replied with a small snarl. He didn't like how she jumped to conclusions. In his mind if his kit was hurt, oh well, that's life.

Mousepaw waited a bit before glancing up as the she cat returned. "I hope so and thanks for getting me some help. Normally a cat wouldn't do that for me. You're a nice girl."

"I'm sorry, I didn't make the rules but they are important." Jadeheart said, a bit taken back by his hostility. "The first rule in the warrior code, as we already discussed, is you can't take on a mate. The second is you can't have kits." She stated the two rules he already knew briefly. "The third tells us we may never let our personal feelings get in the way of our duties. The fourth tells us to stay outside the clan rivalry." She said.

Brownie smiled. "Your sweet." She said as her owner picked Mousepaw up, looking at his wounds.

The twoleg mumbled something before taking Brownie and the other cat to her home.

Mousepaw blushed a bit before he gave a confused meow when he was picked up. He was a bit scared in what the female twoleg would do to him but, this was his only hope.

Icetooth blocked out what Jadeheart said before he turned back in as she mentioned more of the laws. He took note of them in his mind as she spoke them. The small male gave a nod when he was ready to continue.

Brownie smiled. "Don't worry, she's very good at what she does. She's been studying.

The twoleg put the cat down onto a table where she had been studying before. She got out some medical things.

Shadowheart started feeling like he was in love with sorrelstripes but he shook the feeling off even though he knew nhe did
