Depends on what they do this year.
Back in the day everybody could adopt. Even people who joined on Dec 17th.
Then we had a rash of cheaters creating hundreds and hundreds of fake accounts just to adopt Dec 1th pets.
So the software was set up to only allow people who'd joined before a certain date to adopt those gift boxes.
Every year now it's different. But I'm sure if you are asking about this now you're probably in the clear.

Its ranged from 2 weeks before the 18th to 2 days before the 18th so i personally doubt your account would be barred from it. Theres no telling though ,i just find it unlikely theyd do a 1 and a half month gap in between xD

btw at around the time when it changes to the next day around evening for me i like to go look at the members; it's always the most for December.17th.

Well. That clears things up. So it's a chance to get them out of that 'box' because they were never officially relased but still in the system so that's how people gained those pets and why they are so rare.

Exactly.
UR pets were never released as regular adopts. Just a special surprise on Dec. 18th.

Thanks. That really clears things up like: why a Ur during 2014? Why did so little people by a sitting cat? the other sitting cats are rare, not an Omgsorare. Doesn't anyone like a dog? Ext. And that also explains why so many people joined during December.

I have the same problem my brother and I share a computer and my biggest fear on this site is that we will both get banned. Because people may think that I have two accounts. Is there something I can do to prevent that from ever happening.

Don't unfairly trade to eachother and you should be alright ^^
