Roger dipped his head respectfully, "Gotta be ready for the worst." He said quietly, turning around and padding towards the middle of camp, looking for cats to take with them. He turned and faced Rayvne, tail twitching, "Who should we take?" He asked quietly, feeling like it was a difficult decision.

(Any DarkClan cats open and in camp? Birch is so they can take birch but they probably want a couple more cats. I also feel like once the cats are chosen we should time skip right to when they return to the spot just because this has been progressing a lot more slowly than MistClan's side of things.)

Heron was sure he had made the right decision regarding Lupine, so with that, he turned to head back to camp. He saw Roger was standing in the middle of camp looking around, and he wondered what he had missed. "What're you lookin' for?" He asked curiously.

Birch watched Roger and Rayvne walk away from Wolf curiously, she tilted her head when Heron approached Roger, listening carefully to find out what was up.

Roger glanced at Rayvne, feeling lucky that the tabby had approached them right when they needed a few cats. "We are looking for a few cats to bring on an important patrol." he said, "Care to join?" he gave a small, inviting smile, but was still weighed down with Crystal's recent departure.

"Oh, uh, sure. There's nothing else to do anyway. What's the patrol for?" He asked. It couldn't be a hunting patrol since Roger had said 'important', and they had prey in the fresh-kill pile, and Heron didn't think it was a border patrol because it had been pretty quiet over there that he knew of.

"It's more of a secret mission, really." He told Heron in a hushed tone, "Both you, and Birch are excellent trackers. They will be the perfect cats for the 'patrol'." Wolf mentioned, turning to Roger as if he were replying to his earlier question. "Just remember, all of you; be vigilant, and do not cross the border. Is that clear? I just don't want MistClan to know we have our eyes on them, until we find out what going on." The great mottled tom explained, he could not emphasize his point enough.

Birch listened carefully to Wolf, "I'll keep low." she replied, now crouching beside the others. The she-cat eyed the three others who she would be going on patrol with... Rayvne and Heron were alright, Roger was a younger warrior and former kittypet but he seemed to be taking the situation seriously, she supposed it wouldn't be that difficult to stay out of sight, whatever they were doing.

Roger nodded, he looked at Heron and Birch, wondering if tracking would be much use if they weren't going to cross the border. He started to plan ahead, wondering if they should split up since there was a lot of distance to cover if Mistystar or another cat did cross over it somewhere.
