Hiya!

I just found this thread and i hoped to find a bit of advice ^^; (Also, when i visited the thread, cs automatically logged me out. When i relogged and retried, it logged me out again. Have others experienced this problem?)

I've been using firealpaca as a drawing program, but i have some troubling using it. When i select a new file and open it, and start drawing, the lines are always really, really thin. Even when i set my settings to max size, it is still a thin line. Does anyone know how to fix this? (should i use smaller files?)
For now i zoom in when doing skethces, but i would love to do some bigger works. But i can't do that now, since my lines are poorly visable when i don't zoom in.

Thanks in advance for any advise ^^

@ Stonefly

What a cute dog! I can't help but love those clouds. ^^
The back legs look slightly disproportionate though compared to the rest. Maybe make them longer? References are good for this. Notably to make the rear pastern (the bottom half of the hind leg) a bit longer. That would help balance the image. :3

@ Deimos Mora
I'm not familiar with firealpaca as a program, so unfortunately I can't help you there. The only thing I could suggest would be to maybe reinstall if possible?

I'm looking for someone's opinion on my adoptables, particularly their backgrounds. Most of them look like this;
Image

But I'm giving them a bit of a revamp, and I want to know what kind of background they should have.
Should I have them transparent like most adoptables? Perhaps with a colored border like a sort of "sticker" image?
Or I was thinking of giving them backgrounds. I have a couple like that as it is, i.e.;
Image
But I don't like the boring white box that they have.
So, I've also experimented with something like this;
Image

So yeah. Thoughts, tips, ideas? :3

Thanks so much. Sorry about the amount of images. ^^;

http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/re ... dog+vs+cat I found this quickly on dA, but cats noses don't stick out at all compared to wolves/dogs, the brige of the nose is much more sloping like '/' rather than 'L'.

    @alittleloony,
    ooh, your adoptables are hella fine! i think they stand out from other adoptables with a background. but
    it might be nice to offer a transparent version if you can. i can agree with you on the white box factor,
    so i think it's a good idea if you made 'sticker' like adoptables. personally the last image's background
    appeals to me the most, but since there's a lot going on, a transparent background version included
    would probably be appreciated. ah, sorry, i'm not so great giving advice ;w; hopes this helps even a
    little!
    ---
    @stonefly,
    nice! overall, it looks great, but i agree with @alittleloony. the hind legs look a wee bit disproportionate
    with the top half being too long. i also think that the chest area could be a wee bit bigger.

    click me
    [^ linked for large size]
    so i haven't drawn basically anything in forever, especially ponies
    ignoring the horn and the quality of the hair because it's evident that this sketch is a sketch,
    how does the face/muzzle look and the overall anatomy, i guess?
    if anyone would mind redlining, i'd appreciate it

    click me
    [^ linked for large size]
    ah, this, too. i'm really not used to drawing people, especially in profile (the heads anyway).
    if i could get any advice, critique, commentary, or a redline on this, too, that'd
    be wonderful!

    thanks much ♥

    uhm- hi.
    i guess i can just pop in here, well i'm strange.
    i mostly draw cartoon animals; though i'm not the best i am trying to improve!
    i think i started drawing cartoon animals maybe when i watched SplashKittyArtist. recently VivziePop has inspired me with her beautiful cartoonish artwork and Zoophobia{{Please note that it does have swearing here and there.}}. also i adore MamaTad's animations, etc.
    i uh- am trying to change my style currently... so if anybody has any tips on cartoon animals please tell me :3 right now i am working on 2 comics and trying to animate. both of the comics will not be on the internet but at home.
    this is what splash's art/animations are like
    this is what vivienne's art/animations are like
    yes they're both christmas videos... i added them so then you guys could see their work.

I'll try to use one of the refs for animating 'cartoon' like cats, thank you!

here's a redline for you! overall it looks alright,but could use some edits,but you did a great job on the ears and hair!
their muzzle is a bit too short,and looks a bit more human than animal at the moment,but i think what is most to blame for that is the neck. horses have a slanted neck,if they are animal and not furry,and usually are triangular in shape,and can be smoothed out from there!
and do remember,horses have eyes on the side of their heads! it gives them a really neat look while drawing,but is rather hard to get used to drawing compared to humans,or dogs,or cats

i think your human is fine as is,and as i'm not a real expert on people i can't really redline it & tell you to listen to me haha
but i tried a bit anyways. its fine to draw cartoony or anime! but i dont so my redline is more realistic
proportions are sticking out the most for me,and not much else so a quick redline,and a link to nice proportion tuts will do
Image
anime style / more realistic (proportion stuff at bottom)

seems like no one else needs help atm :V
