I myself am a non owner, and I haven't been a non owner for very long. Maybe a month? But I've tried out for most of the contests that I've been here for(I hope #644 gets judged soon because I love that little guy so much and I wish I could get him). I've kept a lookout on the nursery boards to see if any baby plumies were having tryouts, I've kept a lookout on the fanclub to look at art and for announcements of readopts or lost connections, which are quite sad but provide an opportunity to possibly get one.
Personally, I think the amount on non owner contests are okay like they are. There have been quite a few lately, but there have been just as many chances for owners. I agree that owners can't just easily walk up and win a contest, but if you've been in the community for a while you have better resources for help and relationships than say, a newbie like me. But that's okay. I'll get there one day

To clarify for me, though, as I do help judge a bit, I never really look at if they're an owner or a nonowner, as what I'm judging on is the content and creativity of the idea. Coding is also something i look past, unless it's strictly a coding competition. If you feel like you're wanting help with a form or to see how it's going, feel free to post here asking for help! Or, if that's not getting anything, feel free to come PM me and I'll take a look when I get the chance c: Competitions are hard, but hey, it wouldn't be worth it if it wasn't.

Quick question, if I opened commissions would you guys be interested?
I'd be interested in taking both tryout and normal comms, though they might be a bit slower? I'm kinda busy, but I'd really like to draw for some stress relief. I'd be looking for art trades to get some art of my children as well as dA points or paypal? I'm kinda low on funds oops. My work looks like...

The stuff in my signature was also drawn by me! (With exception to those darling little pixels, those were by recyclables on dA if I recall)
