I'm thinking about painting some pictures of SU monsters since I accidentally discovered how to do that digitally but I don't know if anyone would be interested in it if I did a stream.

Yeah, I was going to make the stage, but ended up trying something different (click on the link) but it didn't work as planned so I have to get on a computer to fix it :P

So I already asked this on Tumblr but I want a large sample of answers before I decide what I'm gonna go with in this fanfic I'm writing.

• If a gem went through a metal detector (in airport security, for example), would the gem’s form be briefly disrupted, or would it cause the metal detector to go nuts?
• If Steven were to go through there, would the metal detector pick up the metal ring around his gemstone, or is it not big enough?
• If a gem went through a full body scanner, would it only detect their gemstone(s) or would it detect their projected form as well?
• Can a gem retreat into their gemstone at will and pretend to be a piece of jewelry to sneak through airport security?

I know these questions make it look like I'm trying to smuggle a gem on board a plane but that is not the case I am merely a fanfic writer

Yeah, Steven has a metal ring around his gem. We only see it in the pilot since he hasn't been poofed in the show yet. All the Crystal Gems have metal rings on their gemstones, as do several of the corrupted gems. I've always assumed it's a brace used to hold the gemstone together in the event that it's broken, so it can be healed more easily later.

Is there any reason an experienced gem would be incapable of retreating into their gem at will without harming themself? Not that the gem in my fanfic who would be doing this is very experienced, I'm just wondering.

1. Why does she get corrupted? Is it caused by trauma, or by actual damage to her gemstone?
2. Does she have any kind of mental illness that could contribute to her corrupted form? If so, what is it?
3. Is there a particular creature (real or fictional) that she would love to be like/dreams about being?
4. Is her weapon something she could incorporate into her form in some way?
5. Is her gemstone in a vulnerable location?

Getting into a fight with her friend causes her corruption, but she doesn't have a mental illness? That's a bit hard to believe (considering that corruption is connected to insanity), but I guess I'll roll with it.

I could see her degrading into a distorted tiger-like form over time, and once she gets to a point where she can no longer use her weapon effectively she would either add the blade to the end of her tail or turn her hands/front paws into blades. Since her gem is in such a vulnerable location, I could also see her adding false gemstones at various points on her body to draw attention away from the real one.

I can do a quick sketch of the stages of her corruption, if you provide a ref of her normal form.
