Favorite Place: Haze's favorite place to go is the little rainwater stream that cuts through her pasture. She always seems rather disappointed during the dry season, when the stream evaporates for a time. Even then though, she goes and stands near the dry dirt, as if she's waiting for the rain to come again. Her owner's not too fond of the dry season either, since Haze will sometimes decide that the dry stream would make a wonderful dust bath.

Haze herself seems to enjoy the place because the large trees that overlook it bring shade during the hot summer months, and the stream itself remains cool all year. To her, it's a fun place to splash around, take a quick drink, or take a nap near. She doesn't seem to have a favorite spot on the stream, she just likes to be near it. Why the paddock you may ask? Well, it's her safe place. Horses are animals of prey, so they don't like to be kept in small enclosed spaces where they cannot flee easily, and this is quite obvious in her case. Rosalie has always hated being brought into her stall. There, she feels trapped and defenceless. This feeling wouldn't have been so strong if it wasn't her past owners. Her old owners had abused her in a cramped tiny stall, where she would panic because she couldn't run away. Since then, at any barn she's been to, she always dislikes being in her stall because these memories come flooding back. Although they've tried again and again to prove to her that she won't be hurt in her new home, she still would much rather remain in the open space of the paddock. She feels most at ease in the large paddock behind the barn, as it's the biggest on the property and it features all she'd ever need. There's a shelter to take refuge from the elements, a huge water trough, lots of green grass, and shade provided by the barn. What makes it even better is that she is never alone there. She is always turned out with a few other mares, and they stick together. They've formed their own little herd that joins again and again, every time they are turned out, and they look out for each other. Not only is the paddock a place with enough space for Rosalie to run if needed, it's also a place where there's always a friend and she can always feel safe.

Favorite Place: Devakanya has an overwhelming passion for a certain spot near her dwelling. It resides in the outskirts of the entire property, standing tall and prominent against everything else. This certain spot is a hill, blanketed in lush grass. Devakanya adores lying here, simple for the ability to view everything. It's what Dev loves- scenery. During the day, she watches as the clouds roll on and on freely. Periodically this mare will wake up bright and early to watch the sun rise or she'll stay up late to watch the sun set. Her most favorite time is to watch the light of day slowly cease as the black screen projects over the earth, stars illuminating the dark canvas. Dev stays up as late as possible to watch these stars, and she adores trying to connect them to make her own constellations. This is why Devakanya adores the lone hill, simply for the advantage of seeing the small and simple gifts nature gives.
