lol
i don't understand how people don't like hinata. i mean, she risked her life just for the life of naruto when fighting pain. she really cares about naruto and everyone else, and to me, that seems so sweet ^^ she might not be my favorite female character, because mine is tsunade, but I think she's pretty cool ^^

i of course completely believe the lover madara was referring to was shisui
ya, I get it ^^ I'm not a super fan i guess, but I get what your saying :3
oh yesss. but someone told me he had a girlfriend? maybe I misheard, but who ever that lover was, shisui could be it ^^

I've never been big on Female characters.
I can never find one I really like; although I do agree that Temari is the alpha.
Of her age group, anyway.
Hinata isn't so bad; as mentioned before, she did almost died trying to help Naruto with Pein.
Tenten, while not a big character, does get props for her notable knowledge with Ninja weapons.
Ino...I was on the fence with her, for a bit, but I got really proud of her for dropping her crush on Sasuke to focus on the more important details on hand. And proud of her for how she pulled herself up after losing her father.
Karin...I do like her, do a degree. She's really strong for being able to put up with Sasuke's **** and tumble with the big boys. And, she could swallow down her Obsession with him long enough to actually be of some help.
Sakura is.....eeeeeehhhhhh
There's just something about her personality, or lack there of, that rubs me the wrong way. My mind just throws up all kinds of red flags with her. I myself had a very creepy, very obsessive phase over a guy; so I know what it looks like, and I can't help but see it in her. If she had dropped it like Ino had, I might be able to call her a decent person. But the crap she pulled with the 'I love you' thing to Naruto, and some of the other smaller things she's done just make me feel like her personality only degraded from the Original and on.
Strength-wise, it would be stupid of me to shrug away her progress. She went from being a girl with book smarts and vague Chakra control, so being almost Tsunade level. She was Incredible, being about to help heal people WHILE she fought. And when she and Chiyo teamed up? That was amazing! But....The sudden increase of the physical was a cover for the bad personal.

wow. what you said just made me realize how freakin awesome sakura kind of was. i now kind of find it funny how she acted back then, with all her blushing and crushing over sasuke, but as it goes on, she changes into a pretty decent person if you ask me ^^
while I like the female characters in naruto, I feel like I have a bigger connection and relationship with the male characters ^^ (that somehow sounded really wrong) but still, I do like tsunade and temari >.<

i think--i could be wrong--the english translation said girlfriend but in japanese it was a gender neutral word? again, could be wrong, but i ship them probably way too much
i mean i know it seems kind of weird since they're cousins but like...i don't think it's that weird? i mean, a fair amount of my ancestors married their cousins, and granted, some of them were so distantly related that they wouldn't have known, but not...all of them.

@hatake.
I connect with Male characters a lot better, too.
The only Female character I've ever felt particularly positive about was Astrid from How to Train your Dragon.
With her, She's proven herself to be strong, to be able to lead the riders, and even takes command of Hiccup from time-to time.
She knows who she is, what she's doing, and what her end-game is.
Astrid doesn't screw around with much.
Now, if more female characters we written to have a back-bone like her, I might actually like a few of them.
But until that happens, my 'favourite characters list' is going to stay primarily male.

yeah the Naruto females all seemed weak to me. Tsunade is strong and Temari but the only Naruto female I really love love is Kushina.
I like how 26 voted when we know if you less then a 4th of them will actually write the fanfiction. -.-
