I'm on the daemon forum, but mega inactive ;n;
I'd like to become more active on there though! I'm 42 on there c:
Do your parents know about your daemon?
Nope. I don't plan on changing this either.
What is you and your daemon's favorite thing to do together?
Going places! Phinx is a big comfort thing for me, and I usually rely on him most when I'm in new places or deep in thought. Thus galleries, excursions, trips to new places, or when I'm somewhere boring or that makes me uncomfortable, Phinx comes out. He hangs around at other times, and we have fun, but it's nice to be out and about with him.
Not really hanging around here anymore~ You can find me on
deviantart though

as for keeping this thread more active, we could do something like the 30-day dæmonism challenge on TDF?
daily question and then there would probably be at least a few new posts every day?

Do your parents know about your daemon?Nope. Only my little brother and my girlfriend know about him.
How did you come up with your daemon's name?It just popped in my head on the night that I first started projecting him. We've been thinking about changing it though, Dael doesn't fit him quite as well anymore.
What is you and your daemon's favorite thing to do together? We love reading together. We just started the His Dark Materials series, and it's been great to help me remember to talk to him and project him.

I think that'd be a great idea! I've been meaning to do one of those.

(Wow, no posts since November! This thread needs a little kick!)
Do you guys have any media you like that feels dæmon-y? I know the HDM books are the blazing epitome of dæmonic references in our culture but I also love to find other books or games relative to the dæmon-dæmian construct. I just finished the first book in the "Spirit Animals" series, though I'm over the target age I couldn't help but being drawn to the similarities of the spirit animals to dæmons. More adult work I've come across is the study of the anima and animus; how many of you all have heard of that? And of course, Aristotle's dæmon is one of my favorite subjects, it's worth taking a glimpse at! =)
Where have you guys found references to dæmons in our culture or history?

Well, you won't find daemons in that form in other books than HDM. As for culture/history, you already mentioned other foundations of 'our' daemonism (Jungian archetypes and Aristotle's daimonium).
There's not much more unless you try to see something that isn't there. There will always be some similarities and some differences with everything - e.g. because of those aforementioned psychological foundations 'our' daemonism is already different than Pullman's.
PDF's (Polish Daemon Forum's) daemonism is even more different from Pullman's and TDF's (despite PDF originating from TDF) - e.g. back in '10/'11 we got more into psychological part of it, leaving book origins as something more symbolical and a way to ease contact; therefore we are more flexible with forms which daemons take and more thoroughly analyse forms which we 'take' (i.e. daemon's whims don't determine in which form we settle in, daemon's form is a mere projection that can be anything - an animal, a human(oid), sometimes even a thing - that helps with the contact).
