General About
soul kits are felines that have died. each individual cat or big-cat (such as lions or tigers) take on the form of a small housecat-like being. now, some may not know this, but felines can have a variety of souls. all in all, their soul number can range from one to five. their souls can be kept track of by their number of tails, and usually the average feline has about two. humans have inspired the "cats have nine lives" myth by this fact, even though they actually only have one life and 1-5 souls. anyways, two is most common, one is uncommon, five is rare, four is very rare, and three is extremely rare. once transformed into a soul kit, the feline acquires a collar with an oval-shaped stone in the center. this must always be kept on, otherwise each time it is taken off one soul will be lost. if it gets taken off, lets say, five times and you have five tails, then you are ascended to the afterlife with no way of returning back to the earth as a lone soul (think of that as banning you from having a kit. if you disobey the rules, then your kit's collar will be taken off and it will cease to live in this world. got it?). soul kits are creatures that cannot be seen to the naked eye, considering they're indeed "ghosts" of a sort (but that term is extremely rude in their opinion). usually only animals and small children are aware of them, and you know how sometimes babies randomly stop crying in public? that's a soul kit cheering them up! very rarely can adults, teens, elders or older children can see them. consider yourself gifted if you can! their sclera (or the white of the eye) is black or a very dark gray. never is it white, not even if the soul kit were to have four souls! (if you have more ideas about them, PM me! i might consider it!)
Breeding
even if they are technically deceased felines, they are a species nonetheless. therefore they are able to breed. soul kits, being quote-on-quote "immortal," can have unlimited litters. offspring numbers are based on how many tails each parent has. the max number of offspring to have each litter is six. so, if a parent had one tail and the other three, there would be four kits all with either three-or-one-tails. the same would be if both parents had five tails. there would be six kits and each would have five tails. it usually takes two months for a female soul kit to give birth. parents stay with their kit and raise them into their teen years (which would be about five months into life) and then they leave their kitten(s) by themselves to mature, explore and possibly find a mate of their own.
Anatomy
soul kits may seem very fluffy, but in fact they are not touchable by the living. they are spirits, after all. they can only directly interact with something of the same species: another soul kit. the soul(s) on their tail(s) look like fire, and the color of those said soul(s) depends on their personality. for instance, if they were loud and impatient, they'd be orange. or something like that. the stones of the collars they all must wear are the same color as their souls, though they are prettied up more than the souls, which look like a little brand of fire on each tail. soul kits that have been made from a big-cat, like a lion, tiger, cheetah, leopard, etc. may or may not have similar patterns to what the animal once was. for instance, they would have leopard-print if reborn from a leopard. the tails are the sensitive spots, just like in life for a lot of animals, and so soul kits always take good care of their tails and make sure that their soul is never damaged. if it is, a lot of negative effects could be the result. they are called kits because they are a bit smaller than the average housecat, and not because they're "forever young." their aging pattern is similar to humans, only there are no such things as elders. the oldest a soul kit can get after becoming one is one year, and after that they stop growing and continue to be "immortal." they are called soul kits because of their smaller size, and not because they're a kitten forever. just a note as well that infants are small enough to fit in a human child's hand.
