Personally, I LOVE all of Sasuke's super crazy moments, because to me, they show just how far deep he really is in his misery.
It give us a look at him in one of his most vulnerable states.
That, he says some awesome stuff, like his "I'm iching to kill you" line.

Okay! I have a HUGE thing about this. When Sasuke says that he 'Wants to be Hokage' his definition of Hokage wasn't like leader of the leaf. He didn't literally mean lead the leaf. I don't remember exactly what he says but when I read it in the manga I was like 'oohhhh he doesn't necessarily want to be the Hokage, but play the same duties in protecting the leaf and creating peace.'

I've never read the manga, but I have watched the animated tv show x3 my friend said something about his words not being exact, because she's obsessed with sasuke and does a lot of research about him (same as me, except for kakashi x3) but she was telling me this at school, and she didn't get to finish, but I remember her saying something similar to what you were stating :3
