Wildpaw slid out of the bush and saw a Thrush. She quickly lowered herself to the ground and crept towards it she counted each paw step she took one... Two... Three... Now! she leaped at the Thrush grabbing to before it could fly away. She buried it so she could come and pick it up later. She quickly licked some of the blood off her paws before going deeper into the forest to replace the prey she destroyed on accident.

He barked wildly. "Whitebirch!" The small fox pup called. "Wild?" he heard fluttering, then a crunch. He jumped into the open, almost onto Wolfpaw. He barked even wilder at the cat- he remembered the first week of his life- cats wanted to kill him.

Wolfpaw blinked in surprise but then saw the fox pup. She the fear in its eyes and took pity on him. She whispered softly to it "Cats tried to kill me too when I was younger..." She knew the fox wouldn't understand and she hoped that her wolf like appearance wouldn't scare it.

The small fox sniffed the cat. He tilted his head and sat down watching her. He yawned, teeth sharp and white.

Wolfpaw examined the fox "what's young fox doing here without it's mother?" She wondered out loud "they don't leave the den much."

He stared at the cat and looked around. He let out a small bark and looked around.

The mother fox stared at Wild. " I hear Sam!" She cried and ran past him. She barked loudly and skidded out of the bushes and started to lick Sam. "You are safe now Sam.." She barked. Staring at the cat, her form stiffened and she stared at the cat.

Wolfpaw leaped upwards she knew no matter what the fox would attack. She stiffened and thought for a moment, and then remembered a trick she used on badgers before. She imitated a wolf howl and tried to make it look like she was calling for her wolf pack to indicate danger. She snarled at the fox and then repeated.

She unstiffened and started to lick her pup. This cat was no danger to her or her family. She glanced every few licks at the cat uneasily, but she sighed and curled against her pup.

Wolfpaw backed away slowly and when she was far enough she leaped into the shadows and ran away her pelt melting into the lights and darks of the shadows.
