Choices:
1: Why's that?
2: Dandelion?
3: Dandelion?
4: Say nothing
5: Why's that?
6: Dandelion?
7: Why's that?
8: Why's that?
9: Sure, I guess
Roll says... 9: Sure, I guess.
"I'll hold you to that," you say. Your tone is a little caustic, but you make an effort to smile at Dandelion. He looks utterly delighted, and turns his flat face up to the sky to watch some roaring, bird-like thing soar past. His mouth is wide like a frog's - it goes way further than a usual cat mouth.
As the walk continues, the company begins to converse among themselves. You listen in, but they don't say anything that you can understand. You don't want to look stupid, so you try to catch on by how they use the many phrases and words they have.
"Say, Blitz," Card says. "How'd the interview with that wiser go?"
"Went poorly." Blitzkrieg doesn't turn her head, but her voice is clear all the same. "They don't squeal under pressure. Not the older ones, anyway."
"Didn't the Lark have something?" Gabber says.
"No, not this time."
"He always has something!" Gabber tuts. "How about Six?"
"Didn't you hear?" a cat says behind you. "Six is dead."
"Six is dead?" She whips her head around and stares. "How'd that happen?"
"Baited." The cat sighs. "Those boys had him on South Brook two nights ago."
"Jeez..." Gabber shakes her head solemnly. "Poor guy. They really mean it this time, don't they?"
"It can't be helped," Card says. "We'll just have to start stringing them up, too."
"Yes..."
Everyone is quiet for a moment. The air is slightly awkward, like everyone wants to say something, but can't. You narrow your eyes and watch their faces.
Blitkrieg leads the group to a bridge, going below it and halting. "Take a moment to sniff out some food, everyone. We're not gunna get the chance to eat for the rest of the day."
"You're the best, ma'am!" Card shouts. He springs off a ways and puts his nose to the ground like a dog. The others slowly spread out on their own.
"Hey, Hopper!" Gabber says. "Why don't you come with me? Let's see if we can find a frog or something."
Lead the way.
There's frogs here?
I'm fine, thanks.
