Do you find that your Makos follow some kind of pattern? A similar color, design aspect, or theme that the majority of them have in common? What does this have to do with their personality, and why do you think you gravitate more towards that color/aspect/theme?
Not really? I guess a lot of them are dark (mostly cause bright stuff tends to hurt my eyes XP)
I'm also drawn towards interesting markings/themes I guess, anything that strays a bit from the usual.

I've got lots to say tonight XD
First up is that I'm gonna be joining the staff and helping keep the archives running! I helped out a bit before, and yeah, now I am confined to the twisting halls of the archives for all eternity XD

But I'm not alone...

I got a MYO slot from a trade, so yeah, everyone meet my latest addition, Lucien (or just The Archivist cause I'm that original XD)

'He almost never talks, never leaves the Archives, and hardly anyone's ever seen his face.
He's a dealer of secrets, and that's pretty much the only thing he'll take as payment for favors. He's also obsessed with his archives, always checking, double checking, triple checking, everything. If something happens, he probably knows about, thus making gaining favors from him difficult at least...
He's constantly afflicted by some sort of disease that leaves thick black goo dripping from his mouth and causes his tail to droop and drag. Due to this weakness in his tail, he is unable to swim (not that he'd ever really need to in the archives)'

I also got two other new makos!

Meet Jack Latern, a demonic, halloween obsessed mako who likes nothing more than a scare (well, he says he does, he's really a big softy and a bit of a scaredy-mako)

And then Bane gifted me this girl, who I've decided to call Yuffie (to keep somewhat to the Kingdom Hearts theme of her family, cause hey, Yuffie appears in the game and that's close enough XD)
Her personality is a WIP at the moment cause I wanna get it perfect OwO

Guys, I'm really looking for non-romantic relationships for my makoatls! It can be friends, enemies, coworkers, neighbors, literally anything. I'm mostly just looking to discuss them and our headcanons for them via PM. I probably won't RP regularly if at all, although if it's something you really care about I'd be more than happy to do something casual. However, I may occasionally do art of them together or something? This doesn't have to be anything super formal, if you prefer. It can just be us chatting about makos together sometimes!

(i am a very lonely person with no internet friends so this is my attempt to live vicariously through them sobbbb)

So please check here for a list of my makos- the ones lacking pictures or lacking descriptions don't have a personality or backstory yet, so do NOT ask about those ones right now. They'll be available for relationships once I have thought of more stuff for them c:

The only thing I ask is that you pay attention to the locations. A lot of my makos travel the world either for fun or for work, so it shouldn't be a problem, but if I have a makoatl who lives, for example like Duncan in Scotland and has never left Scotland in his entire life, then it won't make sense for him to be enemies with a makoatl who lives in Madagascar and has never left there.

Are your Makoatls tied to eachother at all? If they are, how so? If they aren't, why not?

Most of them are!

First of all there's Sai and his mate Enero, and their chidren Suigetsu (mates with Pluvio), Mizuho (mates with Kuda), and Kazumi. They also have two grandchildren, Hugo and Mikako. Sai has a brother, Gamble, who has a son named Xavier.

Then I have a group of makos who are friends with Gamble - Aria, Duncan, Fog, Hark, Jontae, Loudon, Cocuyo, Penelope, and Zentrik.

Kazumi's best friend is Taito, who is in a band with Ryu.

Then there is Viero, who is a sort of father figure to Kuda. Viero is friends with Em, who has a crush on Plot.

Sasha is the tutor that Kuda hired for his son, Hugo.

And Iroha is Sai's arch rival.

WHEW OMG oTL that list is long. But all of those makoatl are connected to each other.

There's one other two, Ataashi and Sadie, who live in a group of makos in the wild together. But they don't interact with anyone else as of now.

I also have quite a few mako who don't really have anything more than personalities right now. They'll probably be connected to the others somehow one day but as of me writing this up they're just floating around in limbo.

Do your Makoatls have a set of items or accessories that they always have/wear? What does it say about their character, whether they do or don't?

As much as I love accessories on makos, very few of mine have any that they wear! I think only 8 of them do?

Aria and Sasha both wear glasses, but that's because they can hardly see without them. Sasha also wears a tie, but that's because he's a home tutor and wants to look professional.

Sai and Iroha both wear traditional Japanese hairpin accessories, and Sai also has a Japanese collar. Their accessories actually helped me develop their characters; they gave me the idea to have their background really ingrained with Japanese culture.

Then there are Enero and Ryu, who both wear a variety of accessories because they enjoy being flamboyant and tacky.

My new girl Ursula wears a hat, but that's not really for any reason other than she likes hats. It doesn't say a lot about her personality. Same thing goes with Kuda. He wears a tasseled collar, but that's not for any reason in particular. xD

My makos really, really don't xD I have a massive variety. Some of my makos are all grey, some are every color of the rainbow. Some of them have super intricate markings, others don't have any markings besides their o. I do love hair edits or horn edits on makos, but I have a large number that are not edited, so that's not a pattern either. I prefer having a big range to work with rather than a common trend, though, so I wouldn't have it any other way!

I don't doubt the mako artists but when two of my makos have really incompatible color palettes, it makes me really nervous to make them mates, no matter how well they're getting along. I'm faced with this problem right now and it's KILLING ME.

I don't really pair them because of how their babies would turn out, I pair them based on personality and such ^w^
BUT - Apparently my Skilur and Eirian's Zoella, after I thought about it, didn't look like they would make very pretty babies, if anything I thought they would be muddled and busy designs.
But LOOK AT ANDE.

I can't recall exactly what pairing, but I know I did have a few doubts about some of the pairing's possible babies. Most of the time, though I don't really care what the babes may look like. Why? A: the ship is cute, B: the mako artists ALWAYS FIND A WAY so no prob

No not really XD
I guess mostly they avoid really bright colours, because I can't connect with them and they kind of hurt my eyes. Most of my makos vary though. They're generally pleasing to the eye-type colours, y'know?

Mmm Kaoru always wears his beanie and clock necklace. No reason aside from constant bedhead and losing track of time while painting. Chou wears a cat hair clip and a bell ribbon collar, mostly due to her love of cats. Levi has his cravat for obvious reasons as Eren has his key necklace. Anthony wears sunglasses since he believes he looks cool in them and they make him appear older. My no name boy (has a name but I wrote it down and can't find the paper OTL) adorns himself in silver body pieces and keeps a bottle of sleeping gas around his neck.

I love doing couple art when I find free time, but can't do certain colors together, so I would try to not pair up clashing designs/palettes together if I could help it. I overlook designs if their personalities match and go together. So it depends?
If someone had a red/green mako and tried to pair them up with a neutral brown I would probably say no thanks.
If they had a red/brown mako I would be more likely to say yes.
But like 9/10 times breedings are done super well so lots of pretty babies.
