The only issue is do they go to the potty In them or no?
I don't find that an issue since all guineas pee and poo in their beds, I have a fully fleece cage and I change out beds and peepads at least 3-4 times a week to keep everything dry. These items I made are washing machine safe.
But like you clean them in your washing machine with pooh and etc on them just saying a little...unsanitary?
Sorry I just don't get how people use fleece fpor g-pigs flooring sounds frankly a little gross 0.0
Dump the poo out and wash them. Same as washing baby clothes, etc

Here, this is an idea on how fleece works.

The fleece stays dry on top and the pee will go to the 2ed layer with can be a towel or pee-pads.

For rats, it needs to be clipped down (binder clips works great!)

My gorgeous little Kaisa crosssed the rainbow bridge last weekend.
You left too soon, but at least you're reunited with Clover now, darling girl.
---------------------------------
The sanctuary has a date for the next show, at the end of November. I have no idea who I'm going to take.
I'd like to take the four boy pigs, but I don't trust them to behave. I can't decide which other pigs would be best to take.
I definitely want to take some rats
(and will be asked to), but again, I don't know who. Definitely not the girls, they're not as tame as I'd like them to be, and are pretty skittish, so won't cope well with the noise. Phoenix would be perfect, but he's been under the weather, so i don't want to stress him
(i know its a month away, but still), and lets face it, he's not pretty so probably won't come away with much.
Which leaves the boys pack. Only thing is, five is too many to take
(as i am responsible for all the sanctuaries pigs, plus all the volunteers animals, plus my own), and I have no idea how they'd react to taking a couple away for the day. The only other option would be to take all five, but only enter a couple, but then there's the problem of what to take them in
(something small enough to easily transport, but big enough for them to spend the day in).
Thoughts?Hopefully will have some very good news next week.
Fingers crossed.

My rats are having a terrible time at the moment. Satan had an abscess on his face and Lucifer has an ear infection and respiratory infection, he may also have had a stroke.
Lucifer is very disorientated and is stumbling and rolling around. I put a dish out for him, but he fell in it head first and had difficulty getting up. I had to grab him just incase he couldn't.

Ear infections will throw off their balance. He really ought to see a vet. If it worsens it could cause him to convulse and make it painful for him to eat.

He went to the vet as soon as I noticed his difficulty moving around. He had two injections and is on Baytril. He improved yesterday, the day after the trip and then suddenly got worse than he was before the vet.

If he has had one stroke it's unfortunately pretty likely that he will have more. I have had two rats who had strokes, both around their second birthday, they both seemed to get better for a week or two before suddenly getting another, lethal stroke.
Hopefully it's just the ear infection that's worsening his balance, and that should clear up with the right antibiotic.
