Magic Powers: Biology - he can make people's heart skip a beat or grow a new arm. Though he's more than competent, most of the benefits of this are weighed out by his ridiculously long casting time.
Dark Magic or Good: Dark. If you comment on it, though, he'll go on a tirade about how dark isn't evil and the names are misleading because you could probably do plenty good with it and yadda yadda yadda.
Personality: Long-winded, Jared can turn a simple matter into a long speech. His rambles tend to be almost incoherent, being what amounts to a collection of all his thoughts slapped together. He has a cold demeanour, which remains in place even when talking to close friends. Despite his attempts to seem intimidating, it never seems to succeed, and he looks more like that one kid who thinks he's edgy than anything else...

... Until he breaks out the magic.

I turn around and see two young adult dogs. They appear to be twins and are dressed in entirely red clothing.

Miss Parkles smiles "Ahh, I almost forgot our guests. Lilura Bluerose, you are excused from class." I open my mouth to object, but the male of the pair grabs my grey wings and drags me from the classroom. I don't say anything as the pair drag me down the hallway towards the exit. Eventually, I see another pet come down the stairs.
"Hey! Please help me! They're really hurting my wing." I yell. The cat lifts his hair out her eyes and glares at me. Then he begins to walk beside the red pets! What do they want with me? When we get outside, they put me down and the cat starts talking

"Greetings. Lilura is it? I am Fetch, leader of The Supreme Gardeners! These are my second in commands, Crimson and Ruby." He says, looking me up and down. Through the confusion, I burst out laughing.
"BWAHAHHA! Supreme Gardeners?! What kind of name is that?" I giggle, grinning at the trio "OH NO! The Supreme Gardeners are coming at me with their pretty tulips! Help!" I mock their group title with a smirk.
"Wanna say that again?" Fetch hisses. Suddenly, he has a scythe pretty much touching my neck, making it bleed a tiny bit. I don't talk in fear of moving the blade further in. "We are part of The Order Of Magic, a group for pets with uniquely strong powers. Your demonstration in class has made us consider you for the plantology section of The Order. We have the task of protecting the world from corrupted magic users bent on destroying all mortals and those who stand in their path. But a world without mortals is a world of unbalance and chaos. Like Yin and Yang. If one is the kill the other, they are killing themselves."
The Order Of Magic? I vaguely recall hearing it on the news last week, but I forgot about it the next day! How could I do that?
"We were discovered last week by a nosy Fire-User, so we had to wipe the name of our organisation from everyone's memories on Earth. We have technology that can do that." Ruby brags idly, stroking her grey rabbit calmly.
"Oh come on Fetch and Ruby, she's a weak-minded little girl. We're wasting time. Just wipe her memory and let's go." Crimson muttered, rooting around in his pockets and pulling out a purple potion labelled 'For Emergencies Only'.
WHAT?! Weak minded little girl? Oh, I'll show him...
I suddenly slam my paw into the scythe by my neck and drag it to the ground. I place a sturdy paw on it and yell at the top of my voice words I know so well.
"By the moon and sun,
Sky and Earth,
Health and Sickness,
I ask of a deed, dear magic elements...
Grant me the powers of who I am!"
That certain request gives me powers to do things like shoot water out my paws and summon a flower or stuff like that. It's something that Pre-K magic users learn, but it's very useful! I shoot a long vine from my paw that wraps around the potion and I drag it towards me. I blast water into Crimson's eyes, making it hard to see, then I aim to finish him off with huge flurry of pollen (Very irritating if it gets in your mouth or eyes!). But a sparkly pink beam comes out instead- Beauty powers, I think. The beam hits him straight on the nose and turns him into...

BWAHAHAHAH!
"Bit of water in your eye there, Crimsonetta?" I say with a bit of a mocking tone as I examine the purple bottle.
"I think," Said Fetch, taking the potion out of my clumsy grip and tucking it away. "We have someone capable of joining. Crimson, you might need a change of clothes..."
Should I trust them and join The Order of Magic, or deny the offer? What do you say, Diary?


(Super sorry, next entry your pets will meet Lilura, this entry was more of something to get the plot going. Also, I just realised a few magic users are not staffies. Oops I'll make up and explanation for next entry, don't worry!)

Uh. Here's my guess...

Our beloved protagonist joins The Order of Magic, because just look at that plot hook, bro. Someone related to the Order tries to experiment with something relevant to Lilura to improve her (like, giving her strength or something) and they fail terribly, to the point of hindering instead of helping. So they have to fix it while dealing with a tail mouth talking at the most inappropriate times or a new, uncontrollable limb or something. Or a love potion...?

Alternatively, a villain experiments and it is bad, then the above happens.

Summoning. Dalton can summon anything, from items to small companion critters which may or may not be from another universe.

Once the spell has been cast, Dalton also has to charge the spell. Depending on what/who he is summoning, the charging period can range from a mere 1 minute to 30 minutes. If the charging period goes over 15 minutes, it will cause him pain or fatigue, the longer the more painful/tiring. When whatever he wanted to summon finally arrives, it will remain there for double the time than it took to summon it.

Dalton can also summon and communicate with the spirits of the dead, though he would need a photo of the person and they must have passed away within the past two years. This will always take 5 minutes to charge, and will also always cause fatigue. On the flip side, the spirit usually can stay for as long as a day unless they go back on their own will or they are forced to go back due to Dalton reciting his spell.

He can't draw the spirit out of an unconscious person, but he's working on it [you're free to have him make progress in this magic as the story goes on though].

Dark Magic or Good:
Mainly dark.

Personality:
Dalton is very wary and distrusting of others, causing it to be very hard to gain his trust and maybe make him come off as quite cold to others. Due to this, he figures that many find him unlikable and well, fine then. If that's how he is pictured as, that is how he'll build his shell. With quite a lot of his years spent reading books alone, the cunning dog has picked up a huge arsenal of weapons all made from words. Armed with an extensive vocabulary in which he uses to annoy people and countless witty comebacks, it is almost in his nature to shoot sarcasm at others every 5 seconds.

However, as stated before, it is all a shell. A guise made to fool others. On the inside, Dalton is pretty much your average nice guy except more timid. Always willing to lend a hand to whoever he knows, he usually is not just what a friend should be, being extremely loyal to whoever has his trust. Dalton will usually help, maybe even protect whoever has his trust. Then he proceeds to deny that said person is his friend and he's just doing the certain activity because it's the right thing to do in that situation.

Oh, and he totally secretly dotes on his weird, somewhat-dead skull companion out of kindness and has very deep one-sided conversations with it.

Crush/Relationship:
Not actively seeking, but you're totally free to give this nerd a crush at some point.

- The floating skull thing is his companion of some sort. When he was younger, something went wrong while he was practicing his magic and it got summoned. Affectionately referred to as S, S is always floating by Dalton's side, living off salad.

- Dalton always brings a notebook and pen/cil around with him. He constantly takes down notes, observations and even doodles even outside of lessons. According to him, he has filled up 27 notebooks within his lifetime and he has "about 42 more of similar notebooks". What he has on him now is the 28th notebook.

Foretelling, seeing into the future, etc. If she says a flower pot will fall on your head, a flower pot will fall on your head. There's also the occasional prophecy, which is usually the near future that is as soon as the next day told in a poetic manner.

Since she usually sees what will happen to others in the near future involuntarily when her eyes are open, Jessamine usually keeps her eyes closed or covered, relying on her wings, instincts and an ability to detect presences and objects to get around.

Dark Magic or Good:
Good

Personality:
Jessamine has an air of wisdom and nobility, and she indeed lives up to what others would describe her air to be. Introspective and knowledgable, Jessamine is that one calm soul who is able to give decent advice to others, poem not included in basic package. Jessamine is able to keep her cool in very stressful situations, and it is a rare sight to see her panic. And if she panics, she probably saw something that triggered her extreme claustrophobia or the situation she is makes 'stressful' an understatement.

Jessamine is usually very dedicated to achieving her goals and will not stop focusing on her goal until she achieves it. She has quite a long attention span and some kind of unnatural patience, being able to focus on what she is doing while easily drowning out the distractions somewhere.

Jessamine is an extreme information-seeker. Highly inquisitive, she tries to find out as much information as she can about others - including the teachers.

Dear Magic,

Gosh, I'm tired. It's 01:58 and we're having a sleepover with some of the new neighbours. SLEEPOVER SELFIE!



The only person not here is someone called Fritz.


You see the two grey dogs by me in the photo? They're Skyler and Jared, and they're from the same staff litter as I am! How cool is that? And yes, Jared is wearing dino Pjs! That orange dog there, Alex, and Fritz aren't staff dogs, but they possess magic? I just saw Alex conjure up a fire! I should ask her...

Alex is asleep when I find her. A quick blast of water in her face quickly wakes her up. She yells some words I won't soil your pages with at me because now she's soaking. Oops! As she calms down, I ask her my question.
"Hey Alex. I've noticed you aren't a staff dog...?"
"Oh..." She shuffles her paws a bit, then looks me in the eye. "Me and Fritz are experiments. Our powers are fake and only last for a year, but it's to see if we will actually develop powers after gaining the knowledge of using them."
I stare briefly for a few seconds, then she yells suddenly. "CANDY TIME."
That was a bit random... "Wha..? But we ate all the candy. And it's two in the morning, Alex."
"Pfft, who cares?" She says, lifting up her bag and tipping it onto the beds. CANDY!

*KNOCK KNOCK*
Meh? Good morning Magic... Blah, I'm knackered. I guess after all that candy I must've fell asleep. Food does that to me and I have no clue why! Oh wait, I need to start this properly.

Alright, I'm coming. The new students seem to gave gone back to their own dorms. I'm still curled up on the spare mattresses we had on the floor last night. Lady is sat on the sofa with black bags under her eyes eating cereal, and I can hear cries about make-up from the bathroom. Getting up, I answer the door to see Ruby and her bunny there.

"Good Morning Lilur- My dog you look a mess!" She remarks. "Anyways, I need you to write your name here to sign this." Ruby shoves a contract in my face. The writing is all scruffy and messed up, it doesn't look anything like a real contract.

I, _________, give full permission for all my beautyology lessons to be replaced with plantology.

.... Seems legit.
I write my name in the boxes. But wait... the top half that says about the lessons is a different colour to the signing area. I rip it off to reveal...

I sign this contract with the promise of joining The Order of Magic's plantology section, The Supreme Gardeners. If I am to exit the group or tell anyone about it, I give permission for me to be executed in a very painful manor.

Ruby flashes me a devilish grin "Meet us after school, yea? Or else." She says, tapping the part on the contract about me dying. I try to snatch it from her paw, but she's an adult and an advanced magic user. She tosses it into the air and it vanishes in a flurry of blue, pink and green. Teleportation magic?! Wow!

Oh, I'm scared Magic. What if they kill me anyways?











Dear Magic,

It's after school. Me, Ruby, Fetch, Crimson and Miss Parkles are sat behind the school building. Fetch has insisted on tying me up incase I make a runner, and Miss Parkles is part of this gang too. Finally, two more dogs come around the corner.

The boy sits down underneath a tree and neatly puts his books beside him. The seemingly dull girl wraps her angelic wings around her and leans against the brick wall of the school, eyes shut.
"We're all present. Let the meeting begin. Lilura, meet our other new recruits Dalton and Jessamine." Fetch says, reading from a scrap of paper.
"Greetings, Lilura. Interesting hair. It seems to be formed using magical particles. Interesting..." Dalton mutters, scribbling down in his notepad.
Jessamine opens her eyes briefly and stares at me. Her eyes are weird. Their irises don't have colour, just a swirling, beautiful mixture of greys, blues and the odd sparkle of yellow. She flinches and shuts her eyes. Slowly a grin comes to her face.
"Dear, this will be interesting to watch unfold." Then the dog's face relaxes again to a neutral look.
"What did you see?" Dalton asks, notepad at the ready
"..."
"Moving on..." Crimson intervenes the silence. "We have a mission for you. A mortal has taken The Book. This book is the source of all magic on earth. Every page and every letter in it is etched and brimming with power. If this mortal manages to open the book, it could be the end of the galaxy and maybe even beyond. Lilura, you will go and retrieve The Book. We know you can do it..." Crimson finishes.
I look up at him and sigh. I open my mouth and say...
