-Despite the date on the dog being 08, that one was actually available for multiple months. I even have one myself from 09, so the actual value is lower than the date on this one. I can link the pup if you need me to cite :3

Really unfair to them.

The 2008 horse is at least two of your store pet. So, unless I missed something (I'm human XD, ) they are way overpaying.

That horse had an extended release and is worth a mid-late 09 rare.
The store pet is worth about a midish 09 rare
Overall it looks close or a tad unfair to you
I have also found that store pets have better demand than tess horses
