Mason is a scientist who used to work for the CDC, but once his building got destroyed by survivors, he and his wife, Sarah, fled to the group CRUCIAL. It was only when they arrived to the compound when they discovered Sarah had lung cancer during the routine check-up before they were accepted. Sarah died around two months into their stay at the compound, destroying Mason. He got better over time, but smoking and drinking became a habit of his due to the grief. He eventually quit drinking due to the problems it caused. He is back on his feet and ready to face reality, though not quite the same. While a member of CRUCIAL, Mason has been an asset to the research team, despite his old research having been destroyed alongside his hopes.
Mason usually wears a classic black-and-white suit with a black bow tie when he is not doing research or anything really physically exerting, which he cleans himself. When he is researching and/or in the lab, he has a baby blue sweater vest he wears over a pale pink dress shirt, which he wears under a classic white lab coat. With both of the aforementioned outfits we hears nice dress shoes and older-styled glasses (As pictured.) When outside the compound running or in the gun range, he has a black tank top and gray sweat pants, which he wears with his blue tennis shoes. Physically, he is fairly fit with some muscle and lightly tanned skin. He has thick, dark brown hair which he keeps in a professional-looking comb over, and oddly-colored eyes. While his eyes are mainly a light blue color, there are small sections of brown in them. He is about 6'1" and 170 lbs., which is about average. He has no scars or piercings, but one tattoo on his right bicep, which is a portrait of his late wife with her name underneath.
While Mason may not be the most clinically stable person in CRUCIAL, he isn't too crazy. He has mostly recovered from his wife's death, despite not being married to her long. He has a habit of smoking, though he tries to keep it under control. When it comes to things he enjoys doing, he is pretty jovial and ready to take it on. He is good at puzzles, and can finish most in no time flat. Some positive traits would be that he is intelligent, caring, thoughtful, careful, friendly, trusting, and trustworthy; he's also respectful of others. Though, he isn't all rainbows and sunshine. He can be a little depressed at times for what seems like no reason, and is a total snitch - unless it's important, that is. He's also scared easily, though not too easily. He hasn't lived in the real world for long, and doesn't realize how rough it can be.
