So, my birthday is coming up soon, and for a while now, I've wanted either a mouse or a hamster. I'm not sure which one I should get, and since this is a good thread for this, I was hoping I could get some help. If I'm getting a hamster, I wanted a winter white hamster, or possibly a robo. I've done my research, but I just wanted to know which of the two would be less expensive to keep, and easier to care for. Obviously I love both, I just wanted your guys opinions.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I'll give it a shot;
I've been looking into getting a hedgehog for a while now. I know this is a rodent thread, but it's the closest thing I could find, lol.
Do any hedgehog owners have any advice on what to look for/get supplies wise? How much do they cost to own per month?

She actually had a couple more while I was gone tonight!
@Chaolithe
What are you expecting in your litter? I see a few barebacks and possible mismarked hoodeds. Look dark so maybe black?
That's exactly what I'm seeing. Barebacks and mismarked hooded. I know I'll get black but momma is mink hooded. I'm not sure if I'll get any mink though. I hope so. And dad is a black mismarked hooded rex. So I'm really really hoping for rex and since it's dominant I think we should get some. Mom is dumbo and dad is standard eared so we'll be getting standard most likely.
Also sorry if that last message seemed as if I planned this litter cause honestly no not this one but we do for a fact have some planned. That's why I said what I said. Lol
you can check the whiskers to see how many rexes you have already. If dad doesnt carry mink, you will get all black

I got both my guinea pigs today! They turned out to be both boars, so I named them Cicero and Gigs ( His full name is Puinea Gigs )
Gigs is the curious and smarter one, and he has black and white fur. There is one tiny red streak in his hair- I think its super cute.
Then we have Cicero, an abyssinian with black, white, and reddish hair. Cicero is snuggly and has a "All i want is food" attitude.
They are both 5 months old.
I'm a tad concerned because they're eating hay happily, but I tried to give them carrots and kale and they completely rejected it. Could it be because of their previous pellet diet? If so, I need to get some.

Try to get them to eat some kinds of vegetables, it's almost impossible to fully satisfy their Vitamin C need with just pellets. And if you buy pellets for them (mostly if they're having trouble maintaining a healthy weight without it) make sure it's low in calcium (Oxbow is one of the few brands on the market that is low enough in calcium, at least where I live) and don't give more pellets than they need, since too much calcium heightens the risk of kidney stones. You can also try giving oats, whole or as porridge (just mix with water and wait, no need to boil it), if they need extra energy.

I have 2 male guineas, MrRox and Skippy. c:
I wanted rats for a while, but realized that guineas would be more my speed and I'm a huge fan of their chubby little bodies and how they popcorn all over the place when happy or excited.

Hello again! Last week I adopted a hamster from someone who really knew nothing about the care. She couldn't remember his name so I renamed him Apollo. Now I have Apollo and Leah. I'm not going to breed them (I only know of two people who may want a baby anyway), but I was thinking, what would their babies look like? Also, do they have an official coloring/marking, or are they just normal? Leah is the grey, fluffy one.

Everyday, it's getting closer...

They're both very cute hammies! I don't suggest breeding them either, but, hypothetically, the babies would be all different colors and designs and such. We get many pregnant hammie mothers in at the rescue and honestly the color combos we get are incredible! We have one golden female who was brought in with her mate, a golden male, and we got maybe 3 goldens out of the litter, and we know for sure that he is the father too. It depends on their lineage and stuff. She had 12 babies, and roughly 3 were golden, 2 were black, 1 white one, 2 tortoiseshell, and the rest were white banded blondes. You just have to know all of the history behind them. But this being said, please don't breed. There are a thousand and 1 things that can go wrong, and in the end, you can have 10+ babies you have no clue what to do with. Even if they all do have homes, tell the people to rescue instead! There are hundreds of thousands of homeless hammies or mistreated hammies that need a home, and they could even get a pregnant momma, or a mum who recently had pups and take care of them if they please instead of selfishly breeding for their own enjoyment, and could actually be helping out with the mass number of rescue hamsters(:

Yeah, I understand.

I own my own animal rescue so I really would never breed, not saying anything against those who do. Leah is actually the only hamster ive ever adopted that was from a breeder. That's amazing all the colors! It will be interesting to see if any hamsters I get in will have babies. I might just have to keep one!
