Roll says... 2: Comfort.
"It's not your fault, even if you think it was," you say quietly to Thimble. "There was nothing we could do."
She starts and looks at you.
You offer a weak smile. "That's the first place your mind goes, but it's not true. Anyone can tell you that."
She looks down for a moment. "But he...well, if-"
"He was cut pretty deep on his neck," you say. "And on his head. He was going to bleed out, or maybe suffocate, if it was his throat. I doubt he could have been saved."
Her expression contorts. You add quickly, "And Scat said something or other that made him relax. He died peacefully."
This seems to ease her a little. "What will his friends do?"
"Probably bury him," you say. "I don't know their methods of sending someone off."
"Hopefully," Scat says suddenly. "Theydon'tsmellusonhim."
You stop. "I...I hadn't considered that."
"Shouldbefine." He shakes his head. "Theothergangwasthere. Won'tnoticeus."
"Then why'd you bring it up?" you say.
"Justincase."
You give him a tired glare.
Let's just keep moving.
Don't say that right now.
Why'd you go after him?

"Why'd you even go after him in the first place?" you say irritably. "You put us all in danger with that stunt."
Scat looks at you, and the intensity in his eyes makes you flinch. "ThoughtIcouldhelp. Hewasdyingandscared."
"Is that why you were saying whatever you were saying to him?"
He barely nods. You leave it at that.
It's not until the sun is dropping behind the hills that you decide it's time to stop. If you turn your head to the right, you can see a small cluster of trees, but they're too far away to tell if they're claimed or not. To the left is a single brick building with pavement halfway around it, which Scat refers to as a "rest stop". There aren't any twolegs nearby, as far as you can see.
Go to the rest stop.
Go to the grove.
