He's based on the Kelpie, a Scottish fae who had a nasty habit of shifting into beautiful dark or light horses, offering rides to children or wayward travellers, and then dragging them down into the nearest body of water that they reside in. Name one way you can defeat a Kelpie: Some legends say that Kelpie's have a weakness to silver, and will turn to a starchy-like substance if stabbed or shot with molten or hot silver. If you obtain the procession of a Kelpie's bridle, you'll be able to make the Kelpie submit to you and use it's strength of it for your own use. But if you happen to release it, the Kelpie will probably curse you.
